Oasis tour Cardiff stage times and support acts confirmed
We are now just days away from the Oasis Live 25 tour kicking off in Cardiff with final details emerging
The support acts playing at as part of the Oasis Live 25 tour are sure to delight most fans - as they have regularly played with Oasis in the past.
The first act playing will be Cast, the Liverpool band formed in 1992 by John Power and best known for their 1995 albums All Change. Speaking about playing on the tour, John told the Mirror he will be their as an Oasis fan as well as playing before them.
The band split up in 2001 but reformed in 2010 and last year they toured as support for Liam Gallagher as he played a Definitely Maybe Oasis tour which fans loved. And now the Manchester frontman has personally got them back for the Oasis shows. John said: "I got a call from a number, and I have got Liam and Noel's numbers and all that, but it was a different number, and I don't normally answer them.

"And I picked it up, and it was Debbie, Liam's manager and his wife, and Liam in the background as well. And then Liam, he'd just spoken to Noel and they just discussed it, and they just said, 'You know, look, we just spoke to our kid. Do you want to open up on the tour?'
"I was like, 'You know, I think I do actually!' And it was a really cool conversation, and then we were blown away like, I mean, it was like the best news we could have hoped for."
He adds: "It's the biggest tour this year and it authenticates the legacy of Cast. This is a band in previous years if there was a Britpop list, top 20, we wouldn't even be in it.
"But now you can't do it. Because it's like the biggest band of that time are saying 'check this out'."
As well as the call from Liam, Cast firmly have the Oasis seal-of-approval with Noel Gallagher previously describing frontman John as being 'as cosmic as the day is long.'
Fans can expect John to belt out 'Alright' and 'Finetime' to fire up audiences from the off, while slow burners such as 'Sandstorm' and 'Walkaway' are perfect for early singalongs in the stadiums.
After touring with Oasis, Cast will then be on the road themselves with dates going through the year.
The second and main support act will be Richard Ashcroft, the former Verve frontman. He has been playing alongside Oasis since the Nineties when they began. When they started out Oasis would support The Verve at shows because they were the bigger band.
Speaking about the upcoming tour, Richard said: "I see it as I've got a very important part to play in this.
"You know, back in the day Oasis supported The Verve and then it flipped around and we supported Oasis at Earls Court, then I as a solo artist have played with Oasis."
He went on to tell the Chris Moyles Show on Radio X: "I said to Noel, 'You know, I think I'm the only person who could go in this slot. Especially for a huge outdoor show, because everyone wants you lot. And unless you're coming with something, unless you've got something to offer, I don't know what's gonna happen'."

A two-time Ivor Novello Award winner (Songwriter of the Year and Outstanding Contribution To British Music), Ashcroft has become an accomplished and influential songwriters.
His first chapter with The Verve reached a remarkable peak with 'Urban Hymns', and his support slot is sure to be a hit-laden set with the likes of 'Bitter Sweet Symphony', 'The Drugs Don't Work', 'Lucky Man' and 'Sonnet'. These tracks made Urban Hymns one of the biggest selling albums in UK history with 11 x Platinum certifications.
As well as the Oasis Live 25 tour, Ashcroft will play select headline shows and festivals this Summer.
According to the official Prinicipality Stadium website, doors open for the opening gig on July 4 at 5pm.
Both support acts will be expected to play 30-45 minutes on stage, before the main event of Oasis back on stage for the first time since 2009.
Based on previous shows at the Principality Stadium, the main headline act normally ends around 10.20pm. Cast would therefore be on stage around 6.30, followed by Richard Ashcroft, with Oasis taking to the stage around 8pm.
Last Summer the Foo Fighters played the Principality Stadium and came on at 7.35pm but played an epic 25 song set. Oasis who are returning after some time away, may play a slightly shorter set, especially based on their history of punchier shorter set lists.

She is is also said to have helped piece together the set list and give an insight into what younger fans might want to hear. Oasis split following a backstage disagreement between the Gallagher brothers at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009. Their return to the stage has been one of the most anticipated music events over the past decade. Oasis brothers Liam and Noel returned to the stage together for the first time since their reunion tour was announced last year. But rather than being the result of hours of rehearsals ahead of their first show on July 4, the brothers recreated the look that helped solidify the Britpop movement, with a new campaign for sporting brand Adidas. A brand new image, posted on Adidas' social media on Thursday, showed the duo dressed in specially designed pieces boasting their band's name, and was captioned: 'The band with three stripes.' It's a picture Oasis fans were ecstatic to see – Noel and Liam Gallagher stand together to seemingly put their feud behind them. The Adidas photo sparked such a frenzy, the sportswear company's new range of Oasis-branded clothing sold out almost instantly in the run-up to the band's tour, which starts in Cardiff on July 4. But The Mail on Sunday can reveal that Liam's photoshoot in east London was at 11.30am and Noel's an hour later. They spent just 14 minutes in the building at the same time – which must have meant computer wizardry was used to combine the images. A source close to Oasis said: 'It looks like two guys casually posing up in sportswear but that was far from the reality. 'It took a huge amount of logistics to get the final images together and tiptoeing around some unusual demands. 'If you look at the picture you'd think they were standing next to one another, but they weren't. 'It isn't known whether they were purposely avoiding one another or if their schedules didn't allow it – perhaps it was a bit of both. But it isn't the dream snap the fans would have loved to see.' Noel, 58, arrived alone in a blue top from the Adidas collection and quickly got on with the job. Liam, 52, flanked by a large entourage including a bodyguard, was given a tour of the set. He also had his own dressing room across the road. Noel didn't. Oasis fans had feared they would never see the brothers in the same room again after they fell out spectacularly following a backstage fight in Paris in 2009. Noel said at the time: 'I could not go on working with Liam a day longer.' He added later: 'He's like a man with a fork in a world of soup.' But last August the brothers announced Oasis were reforming for a string of concerts, netting them an estimated £100million. Any chance of the duo rekindling an off-stage relationship seems unlikely.

Up to 210,000 supporters are expected to descend on Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh for three sell-out shows at the beginning of August. The 70,000 fans at each show would need to neck three pints each to eclipse previous sales. And DF Concerts expect a 'spirited audience' with 'medium to high intoxication' at the Oasis gig. Figures suggest fans could guzzle more than 120,000 drinks each night, based to historic sales figures from other mega concerts at the venue. A breakdown shows beer has been particularly popular with rock fans while pop-loving punters prefer cider and wine. Entertainment guru Donald MacLeod, who helped plan Oasis' last Scottish gigs 16 years ago, said: 'Given the hospitality sector has been so brutalised by councils and government in the past few years, this is going to be a boom for many bars, pubs and restaurants in the Edinburgh area. 'I think it's going to be supersonic when they play in Edinburgh. And I hope they set a new record for alcohol sales. 'Alcohol gets the better of a few people. But I think we have to 'roll with it' and enjoy it. It's not going to be a 'champagne supernova' as such, fans are more likely to drink beer. 'Cigarettes And Alcohol is one of their greatest songs. Whilst the fans may have ditched the cigarettes, there's still plenty of alcohol there to be drunk - as long as they do it safely.' Mr MacLeod, who has an MBE for services in music and charity, promoted Oasis gigs in 2000 and 2009 together with Regular Music. Punters at the gig coughed up between £6 to £8 for a pint and between £8 to £12 for a glass of wine. Almost a third were sales of lager, another third cider, with the rest made up of wine, gin and tonic, and soft drinks. The former Take That singer's previous gig in June 2017 saw 48,608 people attend with 108,728 drinks sold. The Rolling Stones' gig in June 2018 saw 52,583 fans down a whopping 107,005 drinks. Council blasted for fans 'insult' by Gordon Tait MURRAYFIELD locals have blasted council chiefs for branding Oasis fans as 'fat, old, drunk and lairy'. Residents said it was insulting to 210,000 revellers expected to flock to Edinburgh in August. We previously told how officials labelled them as rowdy "middle-aged men" who "take up more room" and drink to "medium to high intoxication". Maureen McSherry, 63, of fully-booked Murrayfield Hotel, said: "The number of people and atmosphere will be good for business. What they said is a very big generalisation." Elinor Cronin, 39, of nearby Roseburn Bar, said: "The council is insulting. A minority may be rowdy, most won't be." Beyonce's 52,568 fans enjoyed 105,396 drinks at her concert in May 2023, back in 2019, 51,589 Spice Girls bought 94,701 drinks. Documents said there had been few arrests at previous Gallagher brothers gigs, but fears were raised about clashes with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. A paper noted 'concern about crowds of Oasis on weekends as they are already rowdy and the tone of the band.' It added: 'Concerned about the safety of the Fringe and its performers. Many performers are considering not attending for that weekend.' Emails show council chiefs have also been in contact with other major cities hosting Oasis gigs - including Cardiff, Manchester and Dublin - in a bid to 'share ideas' and 'best practice for the event.' The SRU and Murrayfield Experience were approached for comment.
