The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) issued an administrative decision to shut down Al Jaidah Automotive Company for 30 days due to failure to provide spare parts and delays in after-sales services, in violation of Article (16) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry clarified that Administrative Decision No. (18/2025) was issued after 29 repeated violations of the same nature were recorded against the company. Despite multiple prior warnings, the company failed to take the necessary corrective actions, prompting the ministry to implement the closure.
The ministry emphasized that this decision is part of its ongoing regulatory efforts to safeguard consumer rights and enforce compliance with laws and regulations, particularly those related to after-sales service and the provision of essential spare parts to ensure product safety and quality.
The ministry affirmed that it will continue to conduct inspection and oversight campaigns and take legal measures against any violations of the Consumer Protection Law, in order to uphold a fair commercial environment that protects the rights of all parties.
It also urged all citizens and residents to report any violations by contacting the call center at 16001 or through the ministry's social media platforms.

The recall is due to a potential defect in the passenger airbags, which may rupture during deployment and release hot gases, posing a risk of burns to occupants. The MoCI said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs. The ministry said that it will coordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and will communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.
