Sarah Jessica Parker's shock plans for Carrie Bradshaw... and how show bosses could finally convince Kim Cattrall to return
The shocking death of Chris Noth's character caught everyone off guard as soon as it became public, leaving a group of journalists sobbing into their mini pastries at an early-morning press screening.
Everyone watched in disbelief as Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) cradled her dying husband in the shower, wearing her wedding day Manolo Blahniks as a fatal Peloton-induced heart attack ended their shot at forever after six seasons (and two movies) of will-they-won't-they.
Viewers may need to brace themselves for an even greater heartache, because Parker is toying with the idea of killing off Bradshaw.
'Sarah has considered ending her time with Carrie by killing her off,' a source told the Daily Mail. 'She feels that there could be a great story to tell with Carrie dying.'
Our source told us Parker has mentioned the idea to several writers, adding that 'she would like to see what the world would be like in the Sex universe if she was ever to die.
'Bosses would consider looking into how people handle her passing, but only for a couple of episodes before the franchise wrapped forever.'
Thankfully for fans of the spinoff, our insider assured us that, even if this does happen, it would be 'years from now.'
It is doubtful that Parker, 60, as well as Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis - who play her longtime best friends Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York, respectively - would want to wrap up the lucrative series, which reportedly saw them bank around $1 million each per episode, according to Variety.
'The show and the franchise make way too much money right now,' said our source. 'Everyone would like to see at least three or four more seasons.
'Sex and the City had six seasons, so to match or surpass that is the current goal. But Sarah would definitely be interested in entertaining it.'
The spinoff came 23 years after the original TV series debuted, and 11 years after the much-derided second movie premiered.
But excitement soon turned to a lackluster 'humph' as fans struggled with the evident reach for political correctness, with frequent talk of microaggressions and the introduction of queer nonbinary podcaster Che Diaz, perhaps the most polarizing character in the show's history.
The script and plotlines were no doubt an overcorrection in response to the lack of diversity in Sex and the City, which debuted in 1998. Despite pushing the boundaries of TV at the time, the original show has since come under fire for outdated jokes, sex shaming, and gender and racial stereotyping.
But the biggest pet peeve for fans was the aching absence of Kim Cattrall's sex-positive publicist character, Samantha Jones.
Cattrall refused to join the reboot in an official capacity amid rumors of a feud with Parker.
Her character was only mentioned in text messages in season one, where fans learned Jones had moved to London and was no longer as close to Bradshaw after being fired as her publicist.
She had a cameo in season two, where Jones was seen riding in the back of a car while on the phone with Bradshaw. The two reportedly did not communicate during filming, Variety reported a the time.
The rumors rumbled under the surface for years, but came to a head in 2018 when Cattrall, 68, blasted Parker for talking about her brother Christopher, who was found dead in Canada, in a TV interview.
Four years later Parker said she would not want Cattrall to return to the franchise, telling Variety: 'I don't think I would, because I think there's just too much public history of feelings on her part that she's shared.'
At one point last season, there was even short lived talk of Cattrall making a return after she was reportedly said to have struck a deal with show bosses. Days later she set the record straight, telling fans on X: 'Aw that's so kind but I'm not.'
But should Parker kill off Bradshaw, could there be room for a Jones reprisal?
'If Kim were to return, she wouldn't be in the same scene as Sarah, so maybe killing Carrie off eventually would be the catalyst to get Kim back,' said our insider. 'Kim would have to be given a blank check to come back though.'
Parker will reprise her role as the fashion-obsessed writer for And Just Like That's third season, which returns to Max on May 29.
Having previously dealt with prematurely burying her husband - played by Noth, who was later accused of sexually assaulting two women, which he denied - the columnist-turned-podcast host is now tasked with navigating a long-distance relationship with recycled flame, Aidan Shaw (John Corbett).
The trailer for the upcoming season sees the new, nostalgic couple making a concerted effort to keep their spark alive.
Elsewhere, York and her lawyer husband Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Hander) are consumed with raising their daughters Lily (Caty Ang) and Rose (Alexa Swinton), while Hobbs continues to explore her sexuality in the wake of her split from husband Steve Brady (David Eigenberg).

Biggest theories surrounding Taylor Swift's 12th album The Life of a Showgirl... including a Vegas residency
Taylor Swift fans have been trained to find the Easter eggs, or subtle hints, she leaves about her music... and now that she's announced her upcoming 12th album, they're on the hunt for more clues. Swift, 35, shocked her devoted fans with the surprise announcement of her next album The Life of a Showgirl during a teaser for her upcoming appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce 's podcast New Heights earlier this week. 'This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl,' Swift explained during the trailer, pulling out the record, which had the cover blurred out, leading to super sleuths attempting to figure out the theme. Swifties quickly tried to get to uncover whatever they could on The Life of a Showgirl, and some believe the Style songstress has been dropping hints about the album for years. Fans pointed out that she wore a showgirl costume in the 2022 music video for song Bejeweled and appeared alongside famed burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese. In the video, Swift sat on a clock pointing at 12am, and fittingly, the Midnight Rain singer surprised fans when she announced her new album on August 12 at 12:12 in the morning. As they wait for Swift to share more information on the album, Swifties have been coming up with all kinds of theories while analyzing everything she has said and done over the past few years. Now, the Daily Mail has rounded up some of the strongest theories about the singer's upcoming album - including a possible Vegas residency worthy of a showgirl. Swift, 35, shocked her devoted fans with the surprise announcement of her next album during a teaser for her upcoming appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast New Heights Many of Swift's fans believe that unlike her last album, The Tortured Poets Department, she'll be working with pop producers Max Martin and Shellback on The Life of a Showgirl. An alleged leak of the album's booklet dropped shortly after the announcement and it showed who wrote each of the songs with her. Fans were quick to notice the absence of her frequent producer and co-songwriter Jack Antonoff, who she collaborated with on Midnights and the ultra-moody TTPD. Instead, the songs on the alleged booklet were all produced by duo Martin and Shellback, who previously worked with her on her albums Red, 1989, and Reputation. Swift seemingly confirmed the news by curating a pop-heavy Spotify playlist called 'And, baby, that's show business for you' chock full of Martin classics, including I Knew You Were Trouble, Bad Blood, and Blank Space. Many listeners were overjoyed, because that signals the return to her pop sound, as they haven't worked together since 2017's Reputation. And if the leaked album information is to be believed, Sabrina Carpenter will be joining Swift on the final track. While some Swifties are convinced the leaks are real, others believe they were potentially created by AI. The album seems to have a big orange theme as the background to the countdown for it contained orange sparkles, and her team's account Taylor Nation posted a slew of snaps of her in orange outfits ahead of the announcement. And fans have a bunch of theories as to what the color orange might symbolize. There has been ample discussion over what color means, with some fans thinking it referenced her lyrics in the song Daylight, where she sings, 'I once believed love would be black and white but it's golden.' Others think it could pay homage to Kelce's team, the Chiefs, as it's a mix of their colors - red, gold, and white. Some diehard fans believe the shade references the oxidization of the Statue of Liberty, symbolizing a woman growing older in the public eye. Another hypothesis is that because of the album's name, instead of undertaking a massive tour again, she'll sit tight for a Las Vegas residency. On Reddit, the theory is particularly popular, especially since groups like The Backstreet Boys have sold out The Sphere. Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears have also had their own wildly successful Vegas runs, showing that it's now cooler than ever to call Sin City home briefly. As rumors about Swift and Kelce potentially getting engaged and tying the knot reign supreme, staying in Vegas and keeping a lower profile would make sense for the loved up couple. 'My personal wish is she performs at the Sphere in Las Vegas or that she brings her festival concept to life, the one we were supposed to get for Lover before the pandemic happened,' one Reddit user wrote. 'Vegas residency would fit with the theming of the album if the leaks are correct,' another agreed. On Instagram Threads, a podcast producer wrote, 'What if, instead of a tour, she sets up a Vegas residency at the Sphere and makes us come to her this time.' A Swift fan account also weighed in: 'Manifesting a Vegas residency for her showgirl era.' While Swift has not announced an official release date, the vinyl will be shipped before October 13, hinting that the album could arrive swiftly.

Princess Andre's 'dark' world as Katie Price's ex Kieran Hayler issues grovelling statement
Katie Price's marriage to her third husband was marred by toxicity, persistent infidelity and a 'Mucky Mansion' - now Princess Andre has spoken of her childhood pain Princess Andre has a new reality show and The Princess Diaries is already giving us plenty of insight into her relationship with mum Katie Price. One of the big takeaways from the the ITV show is that the 18-year-old influencer's admission that Katie's troubled past had led her to experience things 'kids shouldn't see'. "I wish I could have had a happier childhood," she said. "I had so much on my plate at such a young age and had things at the back of my mind." Princess, who is the daughter of Katie's first husband Peter Andre, was 10 when her mum split from third husband Kieran Hayler after five years together. "Mum was heartbroken and she went through a dark time and it was things kids shouldn't see and when we needed our mum there, she wasn't there because she had her own problems," the teenager said on the show. "I'm not healed or fully recovered from it but mum has fixed herself compared to how she was back then." Katie, 47, and Kieran married in Weston-Super-Mare in 2013 and went onto have two children together, Jett and Bunny. They renewed their vows in Barbados in 2016 on what was said to be a make or break holiday, with Kieran cheating on Katie multiple times throughout the course of their relationship. One of Kieran's mistresses was Jane Pountney, Katie's friend of 20 years and he cheated on her with a second pal, Chrissy Thomas. The vow renewal didn't work - in 2017 the former glamour model found out Kieran had been unfaithful once more with their children's nanny, Nikki Brown and the following year they went their separate ways. "He did a lot of stuff and when they split up everything kind of went downhill," said Princess. "My mum, obviously being heartbroken, didn't deal with that the best way. She went through a very, very like dark time, which is understandable." Katie later opened up about her 'toxic' marriage to Kieran, blaming him for the 'disgusting' state of her home and her depression, which saw her want to stay sleep all day. The 38-year-old reality star told the Daily Mail this week he would love to apologise in person to Princess for the impact his troubled relationship with Katie had on her. "I am as sorry as I can be to Princess witnessing us go through such a horrible separation," he said. "Leaving them was one of the hardest things I ever had to do." But Kieran, who revealed he longer has a relationship with his former step-children, also told the publication he had been the best step dad he could be. "I regret the way things happened but at the same time those are issues I never put around the children, they were put around the children by everything becoming so public," he said. Kieran moved on with Michelle Penticost and they had son Apollo before they split earlier this year. In 2019, Michelle secured a restraining order against Katie for harassing her.

I created a home cinema with this portable projector and I haven't gone to the movies since
Daily Mail journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission - learn more After reading what I have to say on portable projectors, I think you will be ditching the overpriced movie theater tickets for good. For months, I was being fed ads on social media for 'at-home' projectors, and with every passing pop-up, I began to wonder 'what would it be like?' until finally I took the plunge. As an avid movie-goer and fan of a good old-fashioned movie marathon, having a good setup is key. Projector and tech brand XGIMI stood out to me online with rave reviews and surprisingly accessible price points for their quality. XGIMI MOGO 4 Portable Projector Why go to the movies when you can bring the movies to you? This adorably compact and top-rated portable projector brings the big screen to you with advanced quality and endless streaming. Connect to your Netflix, Disney+, and more to bring your favorite flicks to life in any room. $499 Shop I decided to go with their MoGo 4 model, which is completely portable and small enough to pack in luggage or stow away during road trips. Designed with a 360-degree stand, this projector brings the big screen to you with limitless possibilities (literally!). Bring home the movie theater with this insanely affordable portable projector that is redefining the streaming experience. After unboxing the small but still rather heavy tech, I immediately went into excited mode and, with the help of my techy boyfriend, got it set up in under 10 minutes. All it took was plugging it into the wall to build up a charge (as this model can go cordless on the go!), and from there, I used my Google account credentials to log in via the projected screen prompts. The MoGo 4 is a Google TV 1080p model that allows you to stream nearly anything from Netflix to Disney+ and beyond. I decided to project my new toy onto the ceiling, but its design allows for any wall to be projected onto (Pro-Tip: Drive-in movie vibes! It even works on the side of garages). Now, don't get me wrong, I have a wonderful TV in my pint-sized apartment, but let me tell you something about watching a movie projected onto the ceiling, it just hits different. Upon first watch, I knew I was hooked, and so was my boyfriend! We could not believe the image quality and crisp surround sound that was easily controlled from the included remote. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Shopping Finder US (@shoppingfinderus) I added a few extra bells and whistles to my order, too, with the brand's Magnetic Creative Filter Pack. The 3-pack comes with lenses that project unique textures on the wall, such as the Ripple Filter, which can make your walls look like they are underwater. With inflation on the rise, going to the movies is not as practical as it once was, and honestly, the XGIMI MoGo 4 Portable Projector, priced for less than $400, has quickly become a more cost-efficient and fun alternative in my household. The sleek, compact design allows for on-the-go use throughout the entire year! Users agree across the board that as far as projectors go, this one is the greatest, with one saying: 'I was not expecting the quality of this projector to be so good, but overall it's great! From the picture quality to the design. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a small, portable, and powerful projector.' If you are looking for a way to upgrade your movie game or your family's movie game from home, the XGIMI MoGo 4 Portable Projector is a no-brainer. Trust us, we tested it and it not only lives up to its promise but exceeds it! Check it out for yourself just in time to binge all your favorite fall classics.
