After reading what I have to say on portable projectors, I think you will be ditching the overpriced movie theater tickets for good.
For months, I was being fed ads on social media for 'at-home' projectors, and with every passing pop-up, I began to wonder 'what would it be like?' until finally I took the plunge.
As an avid movie-goer and fan of a good old-fashioned movie marathon, having a good setup is key. Projector and tech brand XGIMI stood out to me online with rave reviews and surprisingly accessible price points for their quality.
XGIMI MOGO 4 Portable Projector
Why go to the movies when you can bring the movies to you?
This adorably compact and top-rated portable projector brings the big screen to you with advanced quality and endless streaming.
Connect to your Netflix, Disney+, and more to bring your favorite flicks to life in any room.
$499 Shop
I decided to go with their MoGo 4 model, which is completely portable and small enough to pack in luggage or stow away during road trips. Designed with a 360-degree stand, this projector brings the big screen to you with limitless possibilities (literally!).
Bring home the movie theater with this insanely affordable portable projector that is redefining the streaming experience.
After unboxing the small but still rather heavy tech, I immediately went into excited mode and, with the help of my techy boyfriend, got it set up in under 10 minutes. All it took was plugging it into the wall to build up a charge (as this model can go cordless on the go!), and from there, I used my Google account credentials to log in via the projected screen prompts.
The MoGo 4 is a Google TV 1080p model that allows you to stream nearly anything from Netflix to Disney+ and beyond. I decided to project my new toy onto the ceiling, but its design allows for any wall to be projected onto (Pro-Tip: Drive-in movie vibes! It even works on the side of garages).
Now, don't get me wrong, I have a wonderful TV in my pint-sized apartment, but let me tell you something about watching a movie projected onto the ceiling, it just hits different. Upon first watch, I knew I was hooked, and so was my boyfriend! We could not believe the image quality and crisp surround sound that was easily controlled from the included remote.

I added a few extra bells and whistles to my order, too, with the brand's Magnetic Creative Filter Pack. The 3-pack comes with lenses that project unique textures on the wall, such as the Ripple Filter, which can make your walls look like they are underwater.
With inflation on the rise, going to the movies is not as practical as it once was, and honestly, the XGIMI MoGo 4 Portable Projector, priced for less than $400, has quickly become a more cost-efficient and fun alternative in my household.
The sleek, compact design allows for on-the-go use throughout the entire year!
Users agree across the board that as far as projectors go, this one is the greatest, with one saying: 'I was not expecting the quality of this projector to be so good, but overall it's great! From the picture quality to the design. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a small, portable, and powerful projector.'
If you are looking for a way to upgrade your movie game or your family's movie game from home, the XGIMI MoGo 4 Portable Projector is a no-brainer. Trust us, we tested it and it not only lives up to its promise but exceeds it! Check it out for yourself just in time to binge all your favorite fall classics.

Great British Bake Off to return as trailer reveals hosts and judges lineup

The Great British Bake Off has dropped a trailer for its upcoming season of the hit baking show. A minute-long teaser for the Channel 4 reality programme was released on Wednesday (13 August), which features the voice of comedian Joe Wilkinson who takes the audience on a journey through space and time - and baking ingredients. In the trailer, hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond can be seen as animated characters. "From it grew life, intelligent life, adorned in knitwear and leopard print,' Wilkinson narrates. After various shots of the big bang mixed with baked goods, the camera pans out of Paul Hollywood 's eye. 'Once there was nothing, and then there was Bake Off,' Wilkinson states. Prue Leith is not featured in the trailer, though Channel 4 confirmed she will be taking part.

Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke is 'overwhelmed and emotionally drained' as she's seen crying in public after wrestling icon's death

Hulk Hogan 's estranged daughter, Brooke, has become 'overwhelmed and emotionally drained' following the WWE icon's death, the Daily Mail can reveal. The wrestling icon suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away at the age of 71 last month but, by then, Hogan had gone years without speaking to Brooke, 37. Brooke initially remained silent in the wake of his death, before later taking to social media and demanding an autopsy on his body, as she came to terms with the news. She then held her own memorial for the WWE legend last week after choosing not to attend the funeral with family and friends at the Indian Rocks Baptist Church. Despite their estrangement, the death has taken a huge toll on the 37-year-old - with pictures this week emerging of an emotional Brooke walking through Orlando. Now, a source close to the family has shed light on her situation and told the Daily Mail: 'Brooke is overwhelmed right now with everything. 'She has been receiving a lot more attention than the recent past, her father just died, so things are a bit off the rails right now. 'She hasn't been able to really digest it all. Also, we are days removed from what would have been her father's 72nd birthday. 'She is a very emotional person anyways, but all these things combined have made her have to dig deep in her feelings. She has been crying privately and publicly and it just hits her at different times.' In the days before his passing, WWE superstar Hogan was able to reconcile with his estranged daughter over a 'tearful conversation'. However, Brooke revealed she had felt her father starting to pull away - saying he no longer wanted support or advice from her, despite his health issues. The source continued: 'Her husband and her kids have been such a support system. For all that she has lost, she has realized all that she has and all that she has had. 'She was so close to her father and all the feelings that come from that, especially since they were estranged for a bit before his death has put everything into perspective. 'Nobody is ready for when this happens, but dealing with it in the public eye with arguable one of the most popular people on earth is an interesting thing to go through. This isn't an act in any way, she is emotionally drained.' Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, died on July 24 from a cardiac arrest, according to a Florida medical examiner's office. Brooke announced last week that she had opted to 'privately' honor her father The 71-year-old previously had leukemia and atrial fibrillation, an irregular heart rhythm, the report from the District Six Medical Examiner also said. However, despite his previous health issues, Hogan's daughter Brooke took to social media in the days that followed to seemingly accuse the authorities of foul play. She later backtracked from those claims via a social media post but insisted she still wanted 'answers' over her father's death. Meanwhile, Hogan's son-in-law and Brooke's husband, Steven Oleksy, claimed the WWE icon had 'no interest' in meeting Brooke's twins prior to his death. According to People, Oleksy said: 'I sent text messages once again to kind of gauge where he was at, but there was no interest.' Reports back in April claimed that Oleksy had made several failed attempts to 'foster peace' with the wrestling legend. Oleksy continued: 'She [Brooke] was there for every surgery leading up to the last two years. She would fly down on her own dime, take care of her dad, and it just made a lot of sense. 'No one understood his body, procedures, medications and everything else more than my wife,' he said.
