"We were very deep into creating the event. In fact, it was supposed to happen this weekend," Lyles said. "Unfortunately, there were some things, complications, personal reasons that it just didn't come to pass.
Lyles revealed the race was off due to some "complications" and "personal reasons." Despite his reasoning, Hill took to social media to take a massive shot at the Olympic star.

Hill revealed a mashup of Lyles' face on the well-known Homer Simpson meme of the cartoon character retreating into the bushes. The post also reads:

Hill is referencing the recent 100-meter dash that he participated in on June 13. Hill posted the results on his social media, revealing that he ran a 10.15-second time.

Following the ridiculously fast time, Hill also held up a sign that read, "Noah Lyles could never."
Both outstanding athletes have taken barbs at one another on social media since 2024, and the weekend of June 19 was supposed to be the time that the pair lined up. However, that will not come to pass.
What is interesting is that Lyles recently ran his fastest 100 meters at the Paris Olympics in 2024. He posted a personal best of 9.79 seconds to walk away with the gold medal.
Lyles would have easily beaten Hill with that time if the pair had lined up, but it could be that the Olympian is not in race shape. The next Olympics will not take place until 2028 in Los Angeles, California.
Hill, on the other hand, has made it a point to showcase that he has been practicing for his big race. Posting a 10.15-second time is certainly impressive.
Hill is also set to start training camp for the Dolphins in the coming weeks, so he might not have a chance to race Lyles until the offseason. Either way, the world is not going to see an Olympian versus the "NFL's fastest player" anytime soon.
Timeline of Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill Challenge
The beef between Lyles and Hill began when Lyles called out NBA teams for referring to themselves as "world champions" back in 2023. The comments about the USA champions calling themselves world champions drew the ire of many professional athletes.
Following the perceived disrespect, Hill stated he could beat Lyles in a race in 2024, leading to the Olympian responding that he doesn't even know who the famous NFL player is.
After months of back and forth, the race between Lyles and Hill was meant to happen in June 2025. Now, it is canceled moving forward.

Olympic 100 champion Noah Lyles calls off weekend race with Miami's Tyreek Hill for personal reasons
A race between Olympic 100-meter champion Noah Lyles and Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill that was never formally announced but supposedly taking place this weekend was called off by Lyles for 'personal reasons.' Lyles announced the cancelation Tuesday at Stagwell's Sport Beach event in Cannes, France. His news was captured in a video posted by the New York Post on Instagram. This postponement followed months of trash talk between the two sports stars. Lyles said in his chat at the Cannes event Tuesday the showdown with Hill was going to take place in Times Square. 'Unfortunately, there were some things — complications, personal reasons, that it just didn't come to pass, but we were full in,' Lyles said in the video. 'We were going to have a big event.' Hill posted on social media a series of pictures with Lyles' face on Homer Simpson's animated character as Simpson retreated into the hedges. Hill also wrote: ' @LylesNoah after seeing me run the 100m last weekend.' The 31-year-old Hill ran 10.15 seconds in a race last Friday in California. He held up a sign that read ' Noah Could Never .' It was in response to the 27-year-old Lyles flashing a piece of paper that said 'Tyreek Could Never' after winning a 60-meter indoor race in February. Lyles captured Olympic 100-meter gold in Paris last summer in a time that calculated out to 9.784 seconds. It was five-thousandths of a second faster than Kishane Thompson of Jamaica. As Lyles explained it, a race for bragging rights that was never formally announced was on track to possibly take place as soon as this weekend. 'It was going to be a lot of fun,' Lyles said in the video. ___ AP Summer Olympics:

Arizona Cardinals Year 2 player outlook: TE Tip Reiman
Arizona Cardinals Year 2 player outlook: TE Tip Reiman A look 2024 at third-round pick Tip Reiman and his second-year outlook in 2025. The Arizona Cardinals drafted 12 players in 2024. Some of them had contributions as rookies. Some will have greater roles in 2025. Others will have to battle for the roster. They selected tight end Tip Reiman in the third round with the 82nd overall pick. Entering Year 2 in the NFL, let's have a look at his 2025 outlook. TE Tip Reiman's 2024 season Reiman was a quiet consistent contributor on offense as a rookie. He was listed as the No. 3 tight end on the roster behind Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins but he started nine games and logged 450 offensive snaps, playing more than Higgins' 411 snaps. Now, while Higgins had 20 receptions, Reiman was the Cardinals' blocking tight end. He had six catches for 37 yards. He also logged 189 special teams snaps. Tip Reiman's Year 2 outlook for 2025 Reiman in Year 2 probably will have the exact same role as he did as a rookie. The Cardinals like that he has potential upside as a pass catcher, but he is a mauler in the run game. Since Higgins is a better natural pass catcher (he played receiver in college), the way the Cardinals deployed their tight ends probably won't change much. Reiman will have a quiet, critical role on offense and probably will have limited offensive production.
