Dakota Johnson Reveals New Family Member After Chris Martin Breakup

Dakota Johnson has caught a new animal in her web.
Less than a week after her breakup with Chris Martin was revealed, the Materialists star shared that she adopted a new puppy named Tokyo from the Santa Barbara Humane Society in California.
"We rescued her on Saturday from the Santa Barbara pound," Dakota told host Amy Poehler during the June 10 episode of the Good Hang podcast. "I didn't plan on it."
The 35-year-old went on to share that she was still coping with the death of her previous dog Zeppelin, who died in December at age 17, when she stumbled upon the brown-and-white haired pup.
"I thought, 'It's gonna be a while,'" Dakota recalled. "But then I saw her, and she's an angel."
And Tokyo is already warming up to her new home. In fact, Dakota—who brought her new BFF to the podcast appearance—noted that the doggo's playfulness inside the recording studio was a new development.

"She's a performer," Dakota joked after Tokyo began sniffing her microphone. "Honestly, she has come alive on camera. She normally hides in the back of her crate. She's really timid. And now she's like, 'Here I am.'"
Addressing her pup directly, she quipped, "You're an actress just like your mom!"
Six days prior to Tokyo's big debut, multiple outlets reported that Dakota and Chris, 48, had called it quits after nearly eight years together.
And while the Madame Web actress has yet to publicly address the split, she has shared what her dating non-negotiable is going forward.
As she told Craig Melvin on the June 9 episode of Today, 'Just like, not an a--hole.'
Another important trait her future partner should probably have? Loving dogs. After all, Dakota has previously detailed the crucial role her late dog played in her life.
'We've basically grown up together," Dakota said of Zeppelin during a June 2024 interview with TalkHouse. "He is extremely smart and sweet and perfect and soulful. He's always been a very healing dog for people, so I made him a certified emotional support animal. Which is just the sweetest thing ever.'

Orlando Bloom's pet pooch, Biggie Smalls, is one lucky dog. He not only has one of Hollywood's best actors wrapped around his finger but also has actor Dakota Johnson as his 'babysitter,' although temporarily. Biggie Smalls was recently seen resting in Johnson's arms when Bloom was giving an interview on Today. And before anyone knew, the pup hogged the limelight and upstaged the actor with his little barks and adorable look. Orlando Bloom recently visited TODAY's studio on June 9 to talk about his new movies — Prime Video comedy 'Deep Cover' and drama, 'The Cut' with Savannah Guthrie. And the actor was not alone. He bought his fur baby, Biggie Smalls, on the sets. While talking about the films, their conversation was interrupted when Biggie Smalls started barking off-screen. Soon after, Bloom introduced his teacup poodle to the camera, who was resting in Dakota Johnson's arms on a couch. The actor appeared on the show to talk about her upcoming film, 'Materialists,' alongside co-star Chris Evans. Looking at Biggie Smalls's reaction, Bloom joked that the pup was 'looking for attention.' Even Guthrie chimed in and said that the pooch 'has found a new owner.' The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star continued saying that his brown pup 'would never bark' and 'keeps quiet as a mouse.' But maybe the pooch is 'having separation anxiety' looking at his 'Dad' on the other side. And looking at Johnson's gesture, Bloom quipped that she is 'stealing the dog.' However, when the actor bought Biggie Smalls over to Bloom, Johnson said, 'I'm just the babysitter. I'm just the nanny.' Bloom eventually revealed that Biggie Smalls is his 'emotional support animal.' The interview then continued with the actor with the pup 'really enjoying his moment' in front of the camera. And when Craig Melvin asked Johnson about what happened with Biggie Smalls behind the camera during their segment, she replied, 'It's just what I do. I'm here for the people.' Orlando Bloom has revealed Bryce Dallas Howard taught his daughter to paint. The 48-year-old actor has described his Deep Cover co-star as a "angel" after she helped find an artistic spark in his four-year-old daughter Daisy, who he shares with fiancee Katy Perry. During a joint interview on Heart Breakfast, Bryce said: "I hope it is okay me sharing this? Orlando's beautiful family was there and I love his daughter. I like to watercolour..." The Pirates of the Caribbean star interjected: "She taught Daisy to watercolour. By the way, most people sit at the side of the set and are scrolling the 'gram or anything. "And she has set up this beautiful table... She's literally doing these beautiful watercolours, and Daisy would come over and go, 'What are you doing?' " Bryce added that "Daisy is amazing", before Orlando revealed the impact the sweet moment had. He said: "And this angel, she sets her up and she's got this watercolour. "And literally I went home and bought her a watercolour set, and she's been doing water painting, and she loves it now." He added: "Mother number one over there." Bryan - who called Daisy "marvellous" - described their interactions as one of the "great joys" of working on the Amazon Prime Video series. She said: "You're so sweet. But honestly it was one of the great joys of getting to do this was getting to hang out with Daisy. "It was just the best." Earlier this year, before her ongoing Lifetimes tour got underway, Orlando's partner Katy admitted she loves enjoying her own success through the eyes of their daughter. She told E! News: "It's like Christmas again when you get to see it through a child's eyes. There's so much light and joy and hope. Before she was an Oscar nominated filmmaker, Song was a matchmaker ten years ago. 'I learned more about people in those six months, than in any other part of my life,' she tells us today on Crew Call. Though she doesn't consider herself an expert on love, you can't deny her knowledge. Move over, Leo Buscaglia. 'Love is a completely mysterious thing that we don't have a solution for,' says Song about the difference between dating and finding the love of your life. 'Love is something that humbles us, that ask us to surrender, it's the one that asks us to be our purist, most simple self,' Song shares, 'When love is offered to you, all you can say is 'Deal'.
