Recovery of Pakistan artillery points to close Chinese, Turkish links

New Delhi: The failed attempts by the
Pakistan Air Force
on Indian targets and recovery of artillery have revealed close Chinese and Turkish links, according to officials. At the forefront of Pakistan's recent aerial aggression was the
PL-15 air-to-air missiles
that were deployed by Pakistan Air Force but failed to hit their intended targets, officials said.

During a press briefing on Monday, DG Air Operations, Air Marshal AK Bharti, presented visual evidence of the missile remnants during a joint military press briefing. "You can see the pieces of it on the screen," he said, showcasing the debris of the PL-15 that fell inside Indian territory, including a relatively intact rear section recovered from Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
Similarly, long-range rockets, loiter munitions and Turkish-origin Bayraktar Akinci Yiha drones were neutralised. The
Indian armed forces
further showcased the visual evidence of quadcopters being shot down by Indian Air Force. According to leaked documents from the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation, Pakistan recently acquired PL-15 missiles with a significantly reduced operational range of approximately 145 km - less than half the estimated 300 km range of the indigenous PL-15 model.
As per reports, the Pakistan Air Force received its initial batch of Bayraktar Akinci drones from Turkey in April 2023. Earlier reports have suggested Chinese-made J-10 and J-17 fighters received significant damages during the India-Pakistan conflict. The Chinese apps and satellite phones purchased by the Pakistan Army in the past have been found active in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Jammu and Kashmir. .
Live Events
After the Pahalgam attack on April 22, Pakistan in retaliation to India's action against terrorist camps targeted 26 locations on Friday, using Chinese SH-15 artillery,
Turkish drones
and Fatah-2 missiles, along with F-16 and JF-17 aircraft, as per an official estimate.
A day later, Pakistan fired
Fateh-1 missile
targeting a Gurudwara in a civilian-populated area of J&K. Another missile was intercepted by the Indian defence system over Haryana's Sirsa on Saturday. The official maintained "Fateh-1 missile has proven to be a complete disaster. It has failed multiple times - crashing, veering off course, or simply failing to launch."

India, China to fast-track process for resuming direct air services

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held talks with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong during which the two sides reviewed the developments in India-China bilateral relations and agreed to continue to "stabilise and rebuild ties" with priority on people-centric engagements, the MEA said on Friday. The meeting took place on Thursday and the two sides also agreed to expedite steps involved in resuming direct air services between the two countries. Misri had held talks with Sun earlier on January 27 in Beijing. Sun is on a visit to India from June 12-13, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. During the meeting on Thursday, "the two sides reviewed the developments in India-China bilateral relations since their last meeting in Beijing on January 27, 2025 and agreed to continue to stabilise and rebuild ties with priority on people-centric engagements", the MEA said. The foreign secretary appreciated the Chinese side's cooperation for the resumption of the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra this year. He noted the discussion in the April meeting of the Expert Level Mechanism for cooperation in trans-border rivers for resumption of provision of hydrological data and other cooperation, and hoped for progress on them, the MEA said. "The two sides agreed to expedite steps involved in resuming direct air services between the two countries. Foreign Secretary hoped for the early conclusion of an updated Air Services Agreement," it said. India and China further agreed to take "practical steps" for visa facilitation and exchanges between media and think-tanks. "The two sides positively assessed the activities planned under the 75th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and China and agreed to facilitate the same," the statement added.

F1 visa updates: Will US soon lift restrictions on student visas as Trump goes soft on China?

Restrictions on international student visas could be lifted soon. As President Donald Trump has softened his stance on Chinese students and said Wednesday that Chinese students would be welcome in US colleges and universities, it is anticipated that the temporary restriction on international student visa applications would be lifted soon. In the US-China trade deal, the Trump administration has agreed to accept Chinese students, as Trump announced on Truth Social: "We will provide to China what was agreed to, including Chinese students using our colleges and universities." Trump also announced that he had always been in favor of admitting foreign students to the US as that helps US schools and universities as well. "We have 500,000 students coming in from China," Trump said. Pause on all visa interviews for social media vetting All US embassies and consular sections were asked to pause all visa interviews for the time being by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The reason cited was a preparation for an extensive social media vetting. "Effective immediately, in preparation for an expansion of required social media screening and vetting, consular sections should not add any additional students of exchange visitor (F, M and J) visa appointment capacity until further guidance is issued septel (separate telegram), which we anticipate in the coming days," the cable said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? "People should watch for those spaces to be open, should continue to apply. This is not going to be a lengthy or an ongoing dynamic," Bruce told reporters. "It was meant for a specific, almost an administrative adjustment." She said the interview pause was to ensure embassies and consulates knew what to expect in terms of additional vetting. "And that process, we were told, would be rapid," Bruce said.
