Life finds a way – Your first look inside Jurassic World: The Experience

Bangkok's having a serious dino moment. After the buzz from Jurassic World Rebirth being filmed in Thailand and the showcase of the nation's dinos at the Thainosaur exhibition, it seems that the city is re-entering its prehistoric era. And now, to top it off, Jurassic World: The Experience stomps into Thailand.
Kicking off on 8 August, daily from 11am-10pm, the exhibition transforms more than 6,000 square metres at Asiatique The Riverfront into a fully immersive adventure that brings the world of Isla Nublar to life across over 10 epic zones.
Time Out rounds up all the details so you can get ready, set and go wild.
Presented by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, this massive event invites visitors to walk among life-sized dinosaurs in an environment inspired by the Jurassic World films. Here's what you can expect across the zones:
Origins of Wonder
Step into the grand welcome centre and experience Isla Nublar through cinematic sights and sounds as if you've just walked onto the set.
Arrival at Isla Nublar
The adventure begins at the gates of Jurassic World, the entrance standing tall to welcome you into a land where dinosaurs roam once again
A Close Encounter with Giants
High above the treetops, brace yourself as a massive brachiosaurus emerges from the mist and keep your eyes peeled for another species during feeding time.
The Petting Zoo
Get up close with playful young dinosaurs in this family-friendly zone. From curious hatchlings to energetic juveniles, meet the next generation of dinos.
The Predator Pavilion
Wander into the fearsome territory of the most notorious carnivores. You may know the velociraptor from the movies, but nothing compares to facing it in real life.
The Observation Deck
This high-tech viewing platform takes you deep into the jungle, where the deadly indominus t.rex lurks. But when something goes terribly wrong, escape is your only option.
A Fight for Survival
Navigate narrow maintenance tunnels while an enraged carnotaurus hunts you down. Its roars echo through the halls – run or be caught.
Lost in the Jungle
Wander into a haunting jungle scene littered with remnants from the past – an overgrown Jeep, a weathered Jurassic Park sign. But beware: a frilled dilophosaurus is stalking nearby.
Caged Up
An elevated aviary looms overhead. A pteranodon screeches as it lunges at the cage walls, while a curious stygimoloch eyes you warily through the haze.
The Final Escape Just when you think it's over, a thunderous roar signals the arrival of the legendary t.-rex. Can you make it to the exit before it catches up?
At the centre of the exhibition sits the Hatch Dome, a futuristic hub where entertainment finds its purpose. This zone combines a curated retail corner with a powerful 4D sustainability exhibition presented by AWC. You'll journey from earth's age of extinction to a visionary human-led future. When it's time to refuel, head straight to the Fossil & Flame Restaurant. The first Jurassic World dining experience to open outside of a theme park. The restaurant serves up dinosaur-era-inspired dishes in a setting that feels straight out of the movie set. Before you exit the gates of Isla Nublar, make sure to stop by the Jurassic World: The Experience Retail Store, a dino-lover's dream full of exclusive finds you won't see anywhere else.

'Scotland offers rugged adventurous spirit of The Odyssey'

An expert has said Scotland offers the 'adventurous spirit' of The Odyssey as filming for Christopher Nolan's movie adaptation of Homer's epic poem has been taking place in Moray. Stars like Matt Damon, Tom Holland and Zendaya have been spotted in the area filming the upcoming blockbuster. Peter Jolly The film is described by Universal Pictures as a 'mythic action epic' and is being filmed at Findlater Castle overlooking the Moray Firth. As well as A-list celebrities, set pieces including Viking-style ships have been seen in the area. Mid Lothian Council Nicolette Pavlides, a lecturer in Greek Art and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh, spoke about the accuracy of the pieces, saying the ships made her chuckle. 'The boats were interesting, from looking at the images, they don't look like what Greek ships looked like at the time the story was composed or set,' she told STV News. 'I've heard Nolan doesn't like using CGI much, so he might be using these models that are available rather than that, but the ships at the time of the poems would be very different-looking ships; it made me chuckle.' Ahead of the film's release, Universal Pictures released a picture of Matt Damon, who will play the main protagonist Odysseus, in costume. Universal Pictures Ms Pavlides said the uniform also doesn't accurately represent the period of the story and looks more like a warrior from the classical period. 'The story is supposedly set around 1200 BC, and during that time, warriors looked very different. We know they wore boar tusk helmets from archaeological discoveries,' she said. She added that it's hard to say for definite how the armour should look, but said it will be familiar to the audience. 'I think for this film, the Hoplite armour is how the audience would expect it to look. It's not accurate about what archaeologists would depict, but what the audience would expect, which is probably why the director chose it.' Ms Pavlides said Nolan chose to film scenes in Scotland because of its 'rugged beauty.' 'The story is an epic journey around the Mediterranean, filled with monsters and an unknown, wonderous world outside of ancient Greece and into the wilderness.' Adobe Stock 'I do think that Scotland's rugged coast and striking landscape give you a global perspective, and give the director the chance to create an immersive environment beyond normal Greek landscapes,' she added. 'The dramatic landscape it offers complements the adventurous nature of the story, it's a way to show the adventurous spirit of The Odyssey.' Nolan's adaptation is slated to premiere in cinemas in July 2026. The film boasts an ensemble cast jam-packed with stars including Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron and Jon Bernthal. The hotel bar that makes the best martini in London, according to expert bartenders

Martinis are having a massive main character moment right now. Gone are the stuffy James Bond connotations; in London the martini is the tipple du jour, with icy coups stuffed with olives appearing in the Instagram photo dumps of all the city's coolest people. Charli xcx just hosted her wedding afterparty in a Dalston bar known for serving £8 ones. Many of London's drinkers will claim to know the best place for sipping the timeless bevvy, but if it's done wrong it can leave you trying to chug down a glass of tepid gin (or vodka) while wondering what all the fuss is about. So to find out where exactly is the best, Time Out asked seven bar experts, including Tayer + Elementary's Monica Berg, Lyaness ' Mr Lyan, and Coral Anderson of Swift, to nominate the best martini in the city. Here's what they said. According to the bar experts, London's very best martini can be found at the Connaught Hotel. This uber swish Mayfair hotel has several bars, two of which were nominated by our cocktail professionals for having the best martinis in town. First up was the hotel's famous Connaught Bar, recommended by co-founder of Hackney bar Equal Parts, Carina Soto Velásquez. This bougie art deco haunt often tops world's best bars lists, and has been known for slinging martinis served from a very posh trolley since it opened in 2008. 'The Connaught Bar makes an incredible classic martini,' said Soto Velásquez. 'All the work they do around the martinis there is brilliant. The classic gin martini with a lemon twist is gorgeous.' Also nominated was the Connaught Hotel's Coburg Bar, the quieter and smaller sibling to the Connaught Bar, which Three Sheets ' Max Venning said served up London's number one martini. More low-key than the grand main bar, punters are more likely to nab a table at the Coburg than the often full Connaught Bar. 'I like to sit outside in the atrium. It's really bright and airy and you can look over Mount Street,' Venning said. Venning's go-to order is a dry vodka martini with a twist, made with Belvedere. 'It's really crisp, and nice and stirred down with good dilution.' As for the runners up, perhaps London's most famous martini spot, Dukes Bar at Dukes Hotel in Mayfair was nominated by Monica Berg, while Rita's co-owners Missy Flynn and Gabriel Pryce recommended the Martini Bar at Egerton House Hotel – another Mayfair establishment. Mr Lyan's favourite was Waltz Bar, an intimate and new Japanese cocktail joint in Shoreditch serving a 'nice version of a Gibson'. Exale Brewing's Stephanie Randle-Solley chose the plush new Shoreditch resto and bar One Club Row, while Coral Anderson's pick for London's best martini was at Satan's Whiskers, a Bethnal Green cocktail bar known for serving top-notch classics. The best bars in London for 2025.
