Police Scotland officer suspended in darts cocaine probe
A Police Scotland officer has been suspended after allegedly attempting to take cocaine into a major darts event in Glasgow.BBC Scotland News understands the off-duty officer was searched by security staff at the Ovo Hydro venue earlier this month.Some of the world's top players were competing in the Premier League Darts tournament in the city.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 32-year-old man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a drugs possession offence in the Glasgow area that took place on Thursday, 13 February, 2025."
A spokesperson for the Ovo Hydro declined to comment on a police investigation.

The alleged incident took place around 11.30am on Tuesday while the 13 year-old was travelling home from school on the X28 bus service from Deans. Mum-of-three Stacey Waddell, 35, from Livingston says she was worried there was spice in the vape - a nickname for a lab-made drug - synthetic cannabinoid. After the worrying interaction, Stacey made police aware and suitable advice was given. Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Stacey said: "This all happened on Tuesday. She was sent home from school because she wasn't feeling well. "A male approached her who looked around 18 or 19-years-old. He said 'this sounds a bit strange but I have been asking a lot of people - do you want a draw of my vape?' "She said no and he watched her get off the bus. When she got home she told me everything and I had to explain to her that I had heard so many stories of people using vapes laced with spice. I mean this incident could have been innocent but I am glad she told me and didn't take anything." Stacey is hoping to warn parents and spread awareness around the dangers of vaping and drug misuse due to the fear of what's inside them. She added: "A lot of people get the X28 and X27 to school and I just want to warn people about what could be happening to children. "You just don't know what could be in these vapes. "I am always on high alert because I have a 16-year-old so I have to be aware of the dangers of drugs. It's a scary world out there, especially for bringing teenagers up. "Children might think what they are doing is innocent but they can't see what it's doing to their insides or what it could do to their mental health as well. "My daughter is only 13 so it's worrying we are having these conversations. I never had this when I was younger - children aren't getting to be kids anymore." A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 2.20pm on Tuesday, 10 June, 2025, we received a report of a man having approached a girl on a bus in the area of Knightsridge West Road, Livingston. 'Enquiries were carried out and no criminality was established. Suitable advice was given.'

Speedboat reported to be harassing Orcas off the Moray Coast
A speedboat has been spotted harassing a pod of Orcas off the Moray coast. The boat reportedly crossed the path of the Killer Whales, which disturbed their course near Findochty. The incident is said to have happened at around 7am on Friday June 6. Orcas are often seen around the north of Scotland and the Outer Hebrides. Police say they received a report of the Orcas being 'deliberately disturbed' in Moray and are now appealing for information regarding the incident. Constable Smith, from Buckie Police Office, said: 'It is great to see these animals around the Moray coast. 'However, it is an offence to intentionally or recklessly harass or disturb a dolphin, whale, porpoise or basking shark. 'I would appeal to any members of the public in the area at the time who may have witnessed this incident to please contact Police Scotland on 101.'
