Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min took to social media to pen a heartfelt letter following the club's decision to sack head coach Ange Postecoglou on Friday.
The Australian, one of the nation's most accomplished managerial exports, guided Spurs to their first European trophy in 41 years and secured Champions League football for next season.
However, he also oversaw their worst domestic season since their relegation from the top flight in 1976-77, which ultimately led to his dismissal.

Son described the Australian as a 'club legend forever' and expressed his conviction that he has developed both as a player and a person under Postecoglou's guidance.
'You've changed the trajectory of this club. You believed in yourself and us from day one and never wavered, even when others did. You always knew what we were capable of. You did it your way, and your way gave this club its best night in decades. We'll cherish those memories forever.
'You trusted me with the captaincy, one of the highest honours of my career. It's been an incredible privilege to learn from your leadership up close. I'm a better player and a better person because of you. Ange Postecoglou, you are a Tottenham Hotspur legend forever. Thank you, mate," Son posted on Instagram.
Postecoglou joined Spurs from Celtic in the summer of 2023 and ended the North London side's 17-year trophy drought by leading them to UEFA Europa League glory in Bilbao. However, despite this success, he was sacked after Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League with 11 wins, five draws, and 22 losses during the 2024-25 season.
Postecoglou's departure means Spurs will be appointing their fifth permanent manager in six years since Mauricio Pochettino's exit. Brentford's Thomas Frank is reportedly the leading candidate for the position.
