Can you declare Kharge as PM candidate? BJP dares Cong
The party further challenged the Congress to declare AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, a veteran Dalit leader, as its Prime Ministerial candidate if it truly cares about the welfare of SCs, STs, and OBCs.
Speaking to the media at the BJP headquarters on Wednesday, Karnataka BJP President, B Y Vijayendra stated, 'The Congress party's OBC panel meeting has made national headlines. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has claimed that the committee has the responsibility of carrying forward the social movement in the country. He also alleged that the BJP has always opposed reservations and social justice.
'I want to ask CM Siddaramaiah, the national Congress leaders, and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi whether they genuinely care about the OBCs, SCs, STs, and minorities.'
'I challenge LoP Rahul Gandhi — if the Congress truly cares about the Backward Classes, SCs, and STs — let him declare Mallikarjun Kharge as the Prime Ministerial candidate. But they won't. The Gandhi family won't allow it. Neither Rahul Gandhi nor Sonia Gandhi will approve it,' Vijayendra claimed. He alleged that the agenda of the OBC meeting was not the uplift or development of OBCs, but rather electoral gains in Bihar.
'This is the real agenda. With Bihar elections approaching, the AICC OBC panel meeting is being held in Bengaluru — a move that holds no real importance. It is nothing more than a political gimmick aimed at the upcoming Bihar polls,' he claimed.
Vijayendra further alleged that CM Siddaramaiah had discarded the Kantharaj Commission's caste census report — prepared at a cost of Rs 165 crore — at the behest of LoP Gandhi.
'The Mandal Commission report was not implemented during the Congress regime. The Kaka Kalelkar Commission (first Backward Classes commission) report of 1956 was also dismissed by Pandit Nehru,' he said.
'Can a party that treated SCs, STs, OBCs, and minorities as slaves of the Gandhi family now claim to deliver justice to them? Why has the Congress suddenly formed an OBC panel? It's all because the Bihar Assembly elections are around the corner. They see Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah as an AHINDA and OBC poster boy. They must be under illusion,' Vijayendra claimed.
He added, 'CM Siddaramaiah should remember that after Independence, the Congress ruled the country for 55 to 60 years, and one family ruled it for 50 years.'
'If Siddaramaiah and the Congress now claim that injustice has been done to the OBCs, SCs, STs, and minorities — it is the Congress that is responsible for it,' he
concluded.

RTC workers threaten hunger strike over unmet demands
Hyderabad: TheTelangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Workers Union has issued a warning to the state government, threatening to launch a mass hunger strike at Indira Park if long-pending workers' demands are not immediately addressed. The union's General Secretary, K Rajireddy, highlighted several critical concerns that have prompted this decision to call for a hunger strike. Among the key unresolved demands are wage revision, denied union recognition, and unpaid dues. Rajireddy stated, 'Despite Congress's 2023 election promise, the 2021 wage revision remains unimplemented. The previous BRS regime abolished welfare committees and banned unions—a policy the Congress government has yet to reverse. The government claims to have sanctioned 3,038 posts yet continues outsourcing drivers and conductors—a first in RTC's history.' Workers are also seeking a 100 per cent increase in the 2017 wage revision allowances. They demand immediae payment of 11 pending Dearness Allowances (DAs) from 2019 to 2024. Additionally, they seek arrears in bonds with five-year interest. There is also increased pressure on employees without job security or the regularisation of temporary staff. The Union demands immediate action on several fronts. These include forming a committee with union representation to draft RTC merger rules, withdrawing false police cases from the 2019 strike, ceasing outsourcing and commencing regular recruitment, compensating families of deceased/medically unfit workers, reviewing wrongful terminations under the Mahalakshmi scheme and breath analyser disputes, and holding elections for RTC's Credit Cooperative Society (CCS).

Spain, UAE visit set to create over 14,000 jobs in state, says MP CM
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on late Sunday night said that his official visit to the UAE and Spain is set to create over 14,000 jobs in the state. Yadav stated that following the Madhya Pradesh Global Dialogue-2025, the state received investment proposals worth over Rs 11,119 crore. In a post on X, CM Yadav stated, "With the motto 'Make in India-Make in Madhya Pradesh,' investment proposals worth over Rs 11,119 crore have been received in all major sectors under the 'Madhya Pradesh Global Dialogue-2025' concluded in UAE and Spain. These will create more than 14,000 new employment opportunities in the state. After the visit to both nations, I reached Bhopal today and shared information with journalist friends." "In Madrid, Spain, the 'Invest in Madhya Pradesh - Business Forum' was held, where discussions took place with over 200 corporate and diplomatic representatives," he said. Senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan has said his party colleague Shashi Tharoor will not be invited to any party programme in Thiruvananthapuram till he changes his stance on the national security issue. Muraleedharan's remark came as he responded to reporters on a question of Tharoor sticking to his stand on the issue of national security. A day earlier, Tharoor had said that the nation comes first and parties are the means of making the country better. Reacting to Tharoor's remark, Muraleedharan said that Tharoor, also a Congress Working Committee (CWC) member, was no longer considered as 'one of us". He added that the party's national leadership would decide what action would be required against the Congress MP. 'Till he (Tharoor) changes his stance, we will not invite him to any party programme held in Thiruvananthapuram. He is not with us, so there is no question of him boycotting an event," Muraleedharan said. The senior Congress leader had also attacked Tharoor following his article criticising Indira Gandhi over the Emergency appearing in a Malayalam daily.
