Man wanted for Montclair house robbery arrested in Umlazi
According to the police, the suspect was among the men who robbed 14 learners during a party at a house in Montclair.

Sergeant Bhekumuzi Dlamini of the Montclair police station said the suspects were armed with firearms when they stormed the house and demanded cellphones and valuables from the victims.
'Eight cellphones, a jacket and pair of sandals were taken. The suspects fled the scene shortly afterward. Learners whose cellphones were not taken managed to report the incident at the Montclair police station.
'We utilised our police intelligence resources to track down the suspects. The investigation led officers to a home in Umlazi where the arrested suspect was found wearing a jacket that had been stolen from the learners. He was charged for house robbery,' said Dlamini.
Police are still searching for the two remaining suspects.
The suspect appeared at the Durban Magistrate's Court on July 8. The matter was adjourned to next week for the accused to apply for bail.

Gayton McKenzie has been branded a 'hypocrite' over his bid for the hosts of the Open Chats Podcast to be cancelled for their 'racist' comments about coloured people. He said in a Facebook Live: 'Whoever is in charge of content control didnt see something wrong. 'We are giving you seven days to cancel that show. …You are going to learn. This is where we draw the line'. Senior PA leader Liam Jacobs later opened a case of hate speech and crimen injuria against the podcast presenters. Gayton McKenzie's social media comments about the Open Chats Podcast's presenters became a trending topic. Video: Manhunt for fugitive after Roodepoort cops killed in CBD
Police are urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of Zimbabwean national Jabulani Moyo after a fatal shooting of two police officers in the Roodepoort CBD this morning. According to Roodepoort Record, provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that a manhunt has been launched for the suspect, who is believed to have shot and killed the officers while they were transporting him back to prison from the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court after he appeared in connection with a 2023 business robbery. Roodepoort Record earlier reported that, according to Masondo, one of the officers was based at Roodepoort Police Station and the other at Florida, and that they collected the suspect from a prison in Boksburg. 'The two police officers, a sergeant and a warrant officer, were shot at and disarmed. The sergeant was certified dead on the crime scene, while the warrant officer was taken to hospital, where he was certified dead on arrival. 'Moyo was seen driving the police vehicle that was later found abandoned a few kilometres from the crime scene.' Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist in the investigation or help in the apprehension of the suspect to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Information can also be given anonymously via the MySAPS app, which can be downloaded to any smartphone. 'We do not yet know if anyone else was involved in the shooting, but we can confirm that both officers' firearms are missing,' Masondo said earlier. KwaMakhutha gets mobile police station
KWAMAKHUTHA is one of four areas in KwaZulu-Natal that have been equipped with mobile police stations as part of an ongoing initiative to bolster resources in the fight against crime. Also read: Premier condemns gruesome murder near KwaMakhutha KZN Premier Thami Ntuli, who also serves as the province's MEC for the Department of Community Safety and Liaison, officially handed over new mobile units at a ceremony in Mayville on August 6. KwaMakhutha, Inanda, Bulwer, and KwaMbomambi have been identified as crime hotspots, and the newly deployed mobile satellite police stations are expected to play a strategic role in enhancing police visibility and accessibility in these areas. The KwaMakhutha policing precinct covers a large area and has long been affected by persistent violent crimes, many of which remain unsolved. Each mobile unit, valued at R1.7m, is fully equipped with a holding cell, a toilet, an office, and a kitchenette. Ntuli said the rollout of mobile stations was a direct response to concerns raised by community members who cited the lack of nearby police infrastructure, which often forced them to travel long distances to seek assistance. We are working around the clock to establish functional community safety structures in our province to augment the work of law enforcement agencies,' said Ntuli.
