SAVANNAH MARSHALL is not giving up on her career in MMA - despite having to start from the very bottom in the beginners class.
Marshall began boxing aged 12 and admitted boredom started to creep up after over 20 YEARS of rinse and repeat.

But last year, the boxing champion signed with the Professional Fighters League to make her debut in MMA.
And she did so with victory over Mirela Vargas in June 2024 after training alongside UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall.
But Marshall had to earn her stripes the hard way - which meant starting up with the other novices.
She told SunSport: "I absolutely loved it, it's brilliant.
"I was learning something new, I kind of got the spark back for it like competing again. I've boxed for 23 years now, so it's a long, long time.
"I felt like an absolute novice for the first time in a long time, having to go to a beginner MMA class with 15 year old kids."
After making her MMA debut, Marshall has been out of the ring since July 2023 when she beat Franchon Crews-Dezurn.
But now Marshall returns on Friday in New York as part of a historic all-women's card airing on Netflix.

"It's been two or three times it's been close, we've been mentioned in the same conversation.
"So for it to follow an all female bill and not only that on Netflix, is massive.
"The numbers of Netflix pulls in beats Sky, TNT, it blows all those out of the water, so there's no bigger platform. I'm over the moon really."
Marshall became undisputed super-middleweight champ when she beat Crews-Dezurn.
Due to inactivity, Marshall, 34, only holds the IBF belt from her unified collection with opponent Green, 35, inheriting the WBO version.
So Marshall - now signed to Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotion - bids to win back the belt she never actually lost in the ring.
She said: "She's got my belt. It's not really hers, is it? She's not really a world champion because she didn't beat the champion.
"You can't really call yourself a world champion, you never boxed a champion."

Lavia and James injury update ahead of Chelsea's Club World Cup semi-final
Enzo Maresca has provided an update on the fitness of Romeo Lavia and Reece James ahead of Chelsea's Club World Cup semi-final clash against Fluminense. Chelsea face the Brazilian giants on Tuesday night in New Jersey, with the winner set to take on either Real Madrid or PSG in the final. The road to the last-four hasn't been easy for the Blues, not least after suffering several injury blows in the build-up to their last match against Palmeiras. Lavia was ruled out because of a small muscle injury, while captain James was named in the starting XI but pulled out before kick-off after he 'felt something during the warm-up'. Maresca shared an update on the midfielder in his pre-match press conference on Monday, saying: 'I think in the last game we had Romeo out, Moises Caicedo out, Reece out, and we found a solution with Andrey Santos playing in midfield. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Unfortunately, though, he is not training with the team, so he is not ready for tomorrow.' While the head coach did not mention James, the full-back was pictured in team training and had previously posted on Instagram: 'I'm fit and well, see you on Tuesday,' implying he is ready to start. But Maresca also has some suspensions to deal with, as Liam Delap and Levi Colwill picked up their second yellow cards of the tournament against Palmeiras, meaning they can't play Fluminense. Maresca's comments suggest that new signing Joao Pedro will replace Delap in the striker position, fuelling further speculation that Nicolas Jackson's future in the team is bleak. But the Italian insists Jackson remains a willing and important member of his side despite his recent disciplinary issues, adding: 'Now with Levi and Liam out, we will find different solutions. 'Joao Pedro is ready, and we also have Nico. For sure, we will find a solution.' More Trending 'I think Joao can play in all the attacking positions for us. The difference is with Nico, I see him as just a No.9 but I see Joao in different positions. 'Nico is training well. In almost the last two games he played, he was sent off. 'He is working well. He played the Conference League final and scored. At this moment, he is okay.' For more stories like this, check our sport page. Tour de France sprint favorite Jasper Philipsen out of race after crashing on stage three
Sprinter Jasper Philipsen, of Alpecin-Deceuninck, crashed out of the Tour de France Monday just two days after taking the yellow jersey for the first time in his career. The Belgian powerhouse slammed to the ground in the intermediate sprint with just under 37 miles remaining in stage three. Green jersey in tatters and back covered in angry red road burns, he struggled to stand and could be seen gingerly bending his right arm. He was taken away on a stretcher and wearing a neck brace. Soudal–Quick-Step's Tim Merlier eked out a photo finish against Italian sprinter Jonathan Milan of Lidl–Trek to win the stage. According to a social media post by Alpecin-Deceuninck, a preliminary hospital diagnosis revealed a fractured collarbone and at least one broken rib. He will likely require surgery, the team said. In an Instagram post shared after the race, Tour de France favorite Tadej Pogačar said he started the day happy but ended 'super sad' to see Philipsen go down so hard. 'You will come back in no time,' Pogačar said. Philipsen's crash came on the heels of a near perfect start for Alpecin-Deceuninck. Philipsen took first place on opening day, winning both the yellow jersey and the stage. It was a dream come true for the sprinter, who had previously warned that stage one could be among the most dangerous racing days in this year's tour. 'Beyond proud to make this dream a reality,' he posted on social media Saturday afternoon. 'The team did an amazing job today, and taking the stage win while bringing the yellow home is the best feeling there is.' While Philipsen celebrated, crashes on day one forced two riders to abandon midrace. Italian time trial champion Filippo Ganna of Ineos Grenadiers was the first to crash out. The 6-foot-4 Olympic gold medalist initially got back on his bike after falling heavily on a right-hand curve, but appeared to be visibly struggling and soon developed concussion symptoms, his team said. Shortly after Ganna's incident, Stefan Bissegger of Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale also crashed and abandoned with concussion symptoms. Philipsen, with a strong lead out from teammate Mathieu van der Poel, blasted to victory in the last 100 meters and took first for his 10th Tour stage win. On Sunday, it was Dutchman Van der Poel's turn to wear the yellow jersey after beating out defending champion Pogačar and two-time winner Jonas Vingegaard in a sprint to the finish line. He was still in the yellow on Monday when Phillipsen hit the ground. Speaking to reporters are stage three, Van der Poel said he was sad to see his friend abandon under such painful circumstances. 'We had a pretty nice goal in winning the green jersey with him again,' he said referring to the jersey awarded to the top sprinter. 'It's not a happy day today.'
