Ohio State coach Kevin McGuff facing DUI charge
On Tuesday, authorities confirmed McGuff's arrest on May 6 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
The incident report released Tuesday said Dublin officers located McGuff, 55, inside a Toyota SUV that was partially parked on his lawn.
Another driver had called police to report a vehicle driving recklessly and striking several curbs, officials said.
Responding officers performed several field sobriety tests, including asking McGuff to say the alphabet from D to R.
"Kevin could only say 'D' and could not recite any other letters," read the police report obtained by the Columbus Dispatch.
McGuff refused a breathalyzer test and was taken into custody and charged with OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was released about an hour later into his wife's custody.
Ohio State's athletic department said it was aware of the arrest and is "monitoring the situation closely."
"This is an ongoing, personal legal matter, and the department will share additional information at the appropriate time," a school spokesperson said.
McGuff has a 276-113 record since taking over at Ohio State in 2013. The Buckeyes have reached the NCAA Tournament eight times under his leadership, including 2024-25 when they finished with a 26-7 record. He was the Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2023-24.

Teen driver hits 13-year-old girl on e-bike in northern San Diego

12-year-old girl struck by sex toy thrown at WNBA game in Brooklyn, suspect sought by NYPD
New York police on Monday were still looking for a man who allegedly threw a sex toy during a WNBA game, striking a little girl in attendance, official said. The NYPD on Friday released a photo and a short video clip of a man wearing a "Beavis and Butt-Head" t-shirt and Ohio State cap at the New York Liberty-Dallas Wings game on Tuesday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. That suspect on Tuesday at about 8:45 p.m. EDT, "inside 620 Atlantic Avenue, NYPD 78 Precinct, an unidentified individual threw an object which struck a 12-year-old female victim in the right leg," according to police. The search was still active on Monday, police said. The incident in Brooklyn was the latest of men throwing sex toys toward WNBA players over the past two weeks. The trend appeared start on July 29 when a sex toy landed on the floor of a Golden State Valkyries game against the Atlanta Dream in College Park, Georgia. Two men, so far, have been arrested in connection to the Georgia and Phoenix incidents. 'The safety of everyone in our arenas remains a top priority," a WNBA spokesperson said. "We are working closely with local and federal law enforcement to pursue all appropriate actions — including arrest and prosecution with felony charges where applicable — against anyone engaged in this conduct or otherwise involved in sponsoring this reckless and unacceptable behavior.'

Sobriety checkpoints planned in 2 NE Ohio counties
(WJW) – Sobriety checkpoints will take place in at least two northeast Ohio counties on Friday. According to law enforcement, OVI checkpoints are planned for Summit and Wayne Counties. The Summit County OVI Task Force said in a release that officers will be conducting checkpoints across Summit County on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, into early Saturday morning, Aug. 9, 2025.
