Katy Perry pauses live show as she 'accuses' fan of messaging to Orlando Bloom

Daily Mirror19-05-2025

Katy Perry stunned her loyal fans by jokingly "accusing" a concert-goer of DMing her husband, Orlando Bloom. Katy, 40, halted her Nevada concert and pinpointed a bewildered fan.The songstress gave the fan a stern talking to in front of a full crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise Valley.
Much to their surprise. Katy was part way through her set - which was the eleventh in her mammoth 84 date Lifetimes world tour - when she unleashed on the fan.
Katy crouched down on her knees to address the fan. She stunningly accused him of sending a number of private messages to hubby actor Orlando. Making eye contact, a video caught by TikTok user 143katyperry, showed Katy telling the fan: "I know why you're here. Listen, if you keep DM-ing my man... you've been doing it for months, ever since the residency. You didn't come to see me play."
The fan quickly got excited by the interaction as the Firework singer continued: "If you keep on DM-ing my man I'm going to have you removed - seriously, get your own life."
She upped the decibels as she went on: don't want you, Kyle. I'm his wife. I'm his, he's mine... stay the f*** away." While the fan looked stunned, it was soon evident Katy's hit-out was scripted and worked well into one of her latest tunes. Fans screamed in anticipation as they realised the star was about to perform her 2024 single I'm His, He's Mine.
Katy's latest tour comes as she faced huge criticism for her recent space trip. She spent a total of 11 minutes on orbit on a trip engineered by Amazon boss, Jeff Bezos, who owns the Blue Origin rocket.
However, while her participation was slammed by critics, the musician labelled her treatment as being like a "human piñata". Alongside Katy on the adventure was Jeff's girlfriend Lauren Sanchez, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn.
All those on board gushed that their ground-breaking endeavour was 'life-changing'. However, many people, including other A-list celebrities, slammed the flight and the stars who chose to take part in it.
Since the journey, the California Girls singer has also been hit with endless memes. But she wasn't prepared to take the stick without hitting back.
Taking to the comment section of a post shared by a fan page on Instagram to thank the fans who support her, she wrote: "We're in this beautiful and wild journey together. I can continue to remain true to myself, heart open and honest especially because of our bond.
"I love you guys and have grown up together with you and am so excited to see you all over the world this year!" She added: "When the "online" world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed.
"What's real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth. Please know I am ok, I have done a lot work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me.
"My therapist said something years ago that has been a game changer, 'no one can make you believe something about yourself that you don't already believe about yourself' and if I ever do have any feelings about it then it's an opportunity to investigate the feeling underneath it."
She finished by saying: "I find people to lock eyes and sing with and I know we are healing each other in a small way when I get to do that I'm not perfect, and I actually have omitted that word from my vocabulary, I'm on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but...
"I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS."

Huge pop star's gig cancelled hours before taking the stage after safety scare

The last-minute announcement sparked confusion and anger among ticket holders, many of whom took to social media to voice their disappointment pop flop Huge pop star's gig cancelled hours before taking the stage after safety scare SHAKIRA'S latest gig has been cancelled over a safety scare - with just hours to go before she took to the stage. Fans eagerly awaiting her Boston, Massachusetts concert last night were left disappointed after Fenway Park officials abruptly called off the show. 2 Shakira's latest gig has been cancelled over a safety scare Credit: Getty Singer Shakira, 48, was set to perform at 7:30pm as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which is making its way through the U.S. In a surprising move, the venue also canceled the following night's concert with country artists Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn. Fenway Park posted a brief message on social media stating: 'Refunds will be available at your point of purchase. We apologize for the inconvenience,' but did not initially explain the reason behind the cancellations. Later, Live Nation revealed the decision came after safety concerns arose during routine pre-show inspections. 'Structural elements were identified as not being up to standard, so the shows were canceled. All team members are safe.' The company confirmed in a statement to USA Today: "Structural elements were identified as not being up to standard, so the shows were canceled. All team members are safe." The last-minute announcement sparked confusion and anger among ticket holders, many of whom took to social media to voice their disappointment. One wrote on Instagram: 'How do two different shows get canceled so close to showtime?' Others felt a refund wasn't enough compensation for their disrupted plans. Someone else fumed, 'This is absolute c**p!' Shakira accidentally confirms Rihanna is 'pregnant' during live slip up on Met Gala red carpet On X, formerly Twitter, another demanded, 'And what was the reason? The show starts in 2 hours. At least put up a more elaborate explanation this is insane.' Her next show is still set to go ahead at Washington, D.C.'s Nationals Park on Saturday night. It comes just weeks after Shakira accidentally confirmed Rihanna's pregnancy on the Met Gala red carpet. The Hips Don't Lie appeared shocked and shrieked in horror when she realized she might have said too much during a live TV interview. Shakira had walked the blue carpet before her former collaborator even arrived. Due to photos of RiRi's baby bump being published before the event, some fans, including Shakira, already assumed she had confirmed her big news. However, before she was ever able to make the baby announcement on her own, Shakira made the almighty slip-up. Speaking to NBC News, Shakira said that Rihanna was the person she was 'most excited' to hang out with on fashion's biggest night. "I want to see Rihanna! I want to see her so bad. And I just heard the news too," she told the interviewer. When the reporter seemed confused as to what Shakira was referring to, she excitedly responded: "She's pregnant!" She then looked horrified as she realized that she had spoken out before Rihanna herself was even able to announce the news. The Grammy-winner put her hands up to her face and looked shocked as she confessed: "Am I not supposed to say that?" She then awkwardly laughed and walked away from the interview.

Influencer drops lawsuit alleging rival creator copied her videos

Influencer Sydney Nicole Gifford said in a TikTok video on Thursday that she has withdrawn her lawsuit against fellow content creator Alyssa Sheil, ending a case that had become closely watched over its possible ramifications for the broader internet content ecosystem. The move comes more than a year after Gifford first sued Sheil, claiming that Sheil had not just stolen the look and style of her videos but sometimes copied them down to the shot. 'She would change her hair soon after I changed mine and even got a similar tattoo after I posted mine, so in mirror photos where our faces were covered, it all of a sudden looked even more similar to me with that tattoo,' Gifford said in her TikTok video. 'I believe her intention was to look so similar to me and copy my posts so similarly so she could profit off my business.' She also clarified her intention was not to sue simply over aesthetics, but rather over alleged 'copyright infringement, Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) violation, trade dress infringement, misappropriation, and vicarious copyright infringement.' Arguments between influencers copying or stealing content from each other typically play out in the digital court of public opinion and rarely, if ever, make it to the actual judicial system. Aesthetics on social media are recycled and reinterpreted so often that it's nearly impossible to lay claim to owning a look or style online. Gifford's lawsuit sought to take the issue into the courtroom, attempting to apply laws typically used by traditional media to the relatively lax world of influencer content. The look at the heart of the now-dismissed suit is a minimalist, polished style that is sometimes referred to as the 'clean girl' aesthetic. Gifford, whose videos touch on everything from being a mother to fashion and shopping, has amassed more than 956,000 followers between her Instagram and TikTok accounts. Sheil, who posts similar content, has more than 162,000 followers across her Instagram and TikTok. Gifford said she sent many requests for Sheil to stop — from emails to cease-and-desist letters — before suing Sheil in April 2024. Shahmeer Halepota, an attorney for Sheil, said Gifford walked away from the case with no settlement or financial compensation. 'Ms. Gifford's surrender and settlement for $0 confirms that her allegations were meritless and her claims of inventorship were worthless,' Halepota said. Thomas Frashier, another attorney for Sheil, said his client has set a 'major precedent' for influencers and social media personalities. 'This is a huge win for content creators everywhere who shouldn't have to fear about being bullied out of the industry by the threat of meritless lawsuits like this one,' he said. However, Gifford's attorney Kirsten Kumar said her client's case was not without merit, but that she simply didn't have the bandwidth to continue with the litigation. 'I have been working with Sydney since nearly the beginning of this case,' Kumar said. 'I know how strongly she feels about her claims and that the decision to stop litigating is not a reflection of their merit. But priorities can change: Since filing suit, she has gotten married, welcomed her first child and moved out of state.'
