Regent Seven Seas Cruises Just Unveiled the Largest All-Inclusive, Luxury Cruise Ship Suite in History—Starting at $25,000 Per Night
There are luxury cruise ships, and then there's the 822-passenger Seven Seas Prestige —the most recent addition to Regent Seven Seas' fleet. Last month, Travel + Leisure got an inside look at the new ship and its Renaissance-inspired interiors, but today, the cruise line unveiled one of the most exciting features of the vessel: the Skyview Regent Suite.
Billed as the 'largest all-inclusive, ultra-luxury cruise ship suite in history,' the 8,794-square-foot, two-level suite is a far cry from the small, slightly cramped rooms most people associate with this type of travel. The palatial accommodations fit up to six guests, and anyone willing to pay the staggering $25,000 per night rate will get to take advantage of all of the perks that come with the booking—including a personal butler, daily spa treatments, private fitness sessions, and access to a private car and driver at each port.
And while the ship will dock at some of the most incredible places around the world—the maiden voyage will sail from Barcelona on Dec. 13, 2026, calling on Málaga, Spain; Madeira, Portugal; and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands before arriving in Miami—there's hardly a reason to leave the suite. Along with 3,703 square feet of wraparound balcony space, there's a personal gym, massage room, formal dining area, and all the panoramic ocean views you could ever need.
On the main level, you'll enter via the grand foyer and transition into the reception area (complete with a floating natural stone staircase and an in-suite elevator) before discovering the dining area with a library-style seating nook, bar, living room, and secondary full guest suite. Upon ascending to the upper level, you'll enter the main suite—an ultra-luxe space with a sitting area, ocean-facing bed, and spacious walk-in closet. The real highlight of the bedroom, though, just might be its spa-inspired bathroom, designed with a floating tub, sauna, walk-in shower, and twin vanities.
'In the Skyview Regent Suite , we aimed to capture the essence of modern Italian design, combining clean, elegant lines with exquisite craftsmanship to create a truly unforgettable experience,' Elias Sol, a senior associate at Studio DADO, said in a press release shared with T+L.
The design elements are complemented by a range of thoughtful, high-end amenities—from a curated pillow and linen menu and personalized stationery to in-suite caviar service and a welcome bottle of Dom Pérignon Champagne and Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac.
Even if you don't snag the ship's highly coveted suite, there's still a chance to experience the other privileges and activities the Seven Seas Prestige provides its passengers. All guests will enjoy unlimited shore excursions, 11 different dining experiences, wines and spirits, high-speed Wi-Fi, various entertainment, laundry, and pre-paid gratuities.
'As Seven Seas Prestige sets sail on her inaugural season in December 2026, visiting the Caribbean and Europe's most iconic destinations, the ship's 12 suite categories, including the Skyview Regent Suite, will offer our discerning guests a once-in-a-lifetime way to experience the world—with all the comfort, elegance, and heartfelt hospitality that defines Regent,' Jason Montague, chief luxury officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, shared in the press release.

U.S. Is About To Lose $12.5B, California's Entire Tourism Tax Revenue
People enjoying time together on vacation hiking trip. Golden Gate Bridge, over Pacific Ocean, ... More mountains in the background. San Francisco, California, USA The United States is the only country among 184 global economies, analyzed by the World Travel & Tourism Council and Oxford Economics, that is poised to lose a staggering $12.5 billion in international visitor spending this year. It is a 22.5% decline compared to 2024 and the equivalent of California's annual travel-related state and local tax revenue. Nearly 90% of tourism spending in the U.S. comes from domestic travelers. Still, the impact of international travelers is far greater than its share suggests since each spends around $4,000 per trip on average, eight times more than the average domestic tourist. In 2024, 72 million international visitors arrived in the U.S., 9.1% higher compared to 2013. However, based on the latest estimates, 2025 is shaping up to be a disappointing year. In 2024, over 20 million Canadians traveled to the U.S., spending approximately $20.5 billion. Early signs of a slowdown emerged in March as Canadian travelers stayed away. Summer flight bookings on Canada–U.S. routes have plunged more than 70% year-over-year, dropping from 1.5 million in March 2024 to just over 400,000 by March 2025, according to OAG. In May 2025, Canada recorded 4.8 million international arrivals by air and car (returning residents and non-residents included), marking a 16.7% drop compared to May 2024. It was the fourth straight month of year-over-year declines. U.S. Travel Association highlighted as early as February that these five U.S. states (Florida, California, Nevada, New York and Texas) would be hit hardest by a drop in Canadian visitors. As of April, Visit California indeed reported an almost 16% year-over-year decline in Canadian arrivals, its top international source market. The state now forecasts a 9.2% overall drop in international visitation and a 4.3% decline in visitor spending for 2025. It estimates that the most significant decline in spending (17%) will come from Canadian travelers. Canada is also Florida's top international source market, accounting for nearly 30% of foreign visitors last year. Unlike California, however, the decline has been less severe. Visit Florida reported only a 3.4% drop in Canadian arrivals by the end of the first quarter. New York City has also revised its tourism forecast, now expecting 3.1 million fewer visitors and an estimated $4 billion in lost revenue, according to a report first published by The New York Times. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, visits from Western Europe fell 17% in March 2025. This is the first year-over-year decline since 2021. Part of the drop came from two of the U.S.'s most important source markets: arrivals from the United Kingdom declined nearly 15%, while Germany plunged more than 28%. Travel from Asia also continued its downward trend, marking a second consecutive monthly decline. The region remains 25% below pre-pandemic levels, with South Korea down nearly 15% year over year. South America followed suit with a 10% decline in March after a flat February, driven by double-digit drops in visitors from Colombia and Ecuador. U.S. accommodations are under growing pressure this summer, with booking volumes down 6.7%, a decline fueled in part by a steep 46% year-over-year drop in Canadian travelers and a 7.4% dip in visitors from Mexico, according to the latest data of SiteMinder, a hotel distribution and revenue platform. Average daily rates (ADR) for U.S. accommodations have dipped to $317.29 for June–August, down 3.9% from $330.03 last year. However, not all regions experience a decline. Texas hotels reported a 6% increase in ADR, while Florida saw rates fall by nearly 8.8% year over year. There is a silver lining. According to SiteMinder, the average booking window for summer stays made in April held steady at 80.4 days, virtually unchanged from 81.8 days last year. Meanwhile, the average length of stay increased slightly to 2.29 days for summer 2025, compared to 2.26 days in 2024.

Fresh flights send New Yorkers running for Italy's high heel
This month, Italian startup carrier Neos launched the first ever nonstop direct flights from America to the country's buzziest region, Puglia. The JFK to Bari route will operate once weekly through Oct. 15, with prices starting from $1,000 for standard economy seating and an upgraded Premium Relax cabin for around $400 more. The outbound flight is on Tuesday, with the return from Bari every Wednesday over that window. 5 Fly direct from JFK with Neos. Michela Celi Even better, there's a stylish and roomy new lounge at Bari airport so you can wait for that return in style. The region's been on the rise for a decade or more, but local experts say the Dolce & Gabbana show, which took place on a makeshift runway winding through the fairytale-like cottages, known as trulli, in Alberobello two years ago turbocharged curiosity. 'We saw a 120% increase in booking from US clients from the region for 2024, after that,' said Ben Julius, who runs Tourist Italy. 'And we already see a 50% increase on that for 2025.' Still, you won't have to worry about over-tourism issues as you might in Venice peak season or, certainly, in Rome during this Jubilee Year. Puglia's at its Goldilocks stage, right now, per Stellavision Travel's Zoe Shapiro, it's just right. 'The region is definitely in that incredible moment where there are wonderful hospitality options to be had but it's not over-explored yet.' 5 Puglia's OG boutique retreat, Masseria Trapana, is newly refreshed. Handout Thankfully, there's already a raft of superb hotels on tap. Pick of them is the chic makeover of the nine-room Masseria Trapana, run by expat Aussie Rob Potter-Saunders, who was a visionary when he opened a decade ago. La Fiermontina in central Lecce is a cluster of three properties, owned by a pair of wealthy Moroccan-Italian siblings. Book one of the four rooms they've installed in the museum they operate in tribute to their grandmother, a famous artists' muse born nearby. 5 Park at palace perches like La Fiermontina Palazzo Bozzi Corso in Lecce. La Fiermontina New this year: the buyout-only 10-bedroom mansion house Casina Cinquepozzi, in the tiny village of Putignano, best known in Italy for its carnival celebrations. Nigerian jewelry designer Thelma West and her Neopolitan husband, Stefano Liotta, bought it to turn it into a stylish retreat for creatives. Otherwise, check out Trulli e Puglia, said Embark Beyond's Jack Ezon. 'Mimmo Patrizio Palmisano is the mayor of Alberobello, and a great guy who will invite you to his home,' he raved. 5 Enjoy a swish stay at Casina Cinquepozzi, Handout Don't miss the chance for a candelit meal in Grotta Palazzese on the waterfront in Polignano a Mare — not for the food, but for the setting, in dramatic grottos carved out from the cliffs there. The menu's more impressive at the Michelin-nodded Meraviglioso nearby — try some of the assorted pesce crudo. Wine lovers should make sure not to miss the 20-seater My Wine in Monopoli, where host-owner Gianni de Bellis offers advice and an encyclopedic selection. Olive groves abound here, too, of course and to see a farm dating back to the Roman era, complete with forests of hundred-plus-year old trees at Antica Masseria Brancati. Most of the action in Puglia, especially noteworthy hotels, is centered on the Adriatic stretch between the cities of Brindisi and Bari, but if you want to lounge on a top tier beach, you'll need to head over to the other, Ionian Coast, where the sandy spits are far more appealing. Campomarino is a standout, or head over to Tarento for boat trips to spot the Ionian dolphin in the northern reaches of the namesake sea, year-round. 5 The coveted Mathraki Beach on the Ionian coast. Dionisio Iemma – Several companies offer a quirky way to roam the back roads: classic cars. Puglia Auto Classica will rent you the likes of a Lancia Flaminia complete with the original red seats, while the aptly named 500 Journeys just launched a fleet of meticulously restored Fiat 500s. Antonello Losito, who runs Puglia-based Southern Visions has two must-see spots he suggests on any country adventure. Go to the Giardini Pistoia, a country estate that only recently opened to the public — there are concerts there during summertime, and a superb organic shop which sells the manse's own wines. Likewise, he recommends a detour to the Le Constantine Foundation which preserves and champions the skills — long synonymous with Puglia. 'The art of weaving is kept alive here,' he said, noting that the artisans' onsite shop sells everything from handwovens tablecloths or towels to wall hangings, scarves and shawls. Ezon adds another insider spot for handcrafted souvenirs: Barbara Sperti, a custom shirtmaker based in Putignano: 'It's worth a half-day detour with dinner in one of the great restaurants there,' he said. 'And her shirts are a bargain — totally made to measure at [approximately] $170.'

This Is the Most Beautiful City in the U.S., According to Travelers
In June, one Reddit user posed a simple question to the r/notravelpics subreddit: What's the most beautiful city in the U.S.? Travelers, locals, and city lovers alike soon chimed in with their personal favorites. And though the answers spanned the map, one city climbed to the top: Seattle, a city Reddit travelers loved for snow-capped peaks and ocean views. The city, which was called out by user u/KingsElite, was determined to be the 'best' answer based on the Reddit algorithm, which considers the ratio of upvotes to downvotes to identify comments with a high likelihood of being "good" and backed by a large number of people. Another Reddit user said they, 'second Seattle. Nothing better than a clear sunny day when the water is sparkling and the mountain is out." Another added that they find themselves "suggesting it to people all the time because it flies under the radar of places to visit, but there's so much to see, do, and eat!' The proximity to both the ocean and the mountains was a big draw for people, and another user noted how it's a short drive from "beautiful outdoor places." Following Seattle on the 'best' ranking was a post by u/Myfury2024 that highlighted two smaller cities and two larger cities. The comment stated that the best small cities were Savannah, Georgia, and St. Augustine, Florida, and the best large cities were Washington, D.C., and the 'city center of Chicago.' While it wasn't the top comment in the thread, it had the most upvotes—and an overwhelming number of Redditors backed Washington, D.C., "Very ideal city to live in, and an amazing city to visit," a user wrote. "Walkable, decent public transit, tons and tons of free activities catered to most interests, great green spaces, great architecture and city feel, distinct neighborhoods, diverse, amazing and diverse food options, good nightlife, and way more social and easy to make friends than most cities.' Other popular cities on the thread included Honolulu, where one person noted that you can hike and swim in waterfalls located within city limits. San Francisco also made an appearance in the discussion, and another user noted its 'scenic views, natural beauty, unique architecture, the ocean and bay, and hills.' While beauty is famously in the eye of the beholder, this Reddit thread offers a compelling snapshot of what travelers value most in a city: natural landscapes, vibrant neighborhoods, and access to outdoor adventure without sacrificing cultural depth. Whether it's the evergreen drama of Seattle, the walkable charm of D.C., or the waterfall-lined trails of Honolulu, each city named in the thread offers its version of beauty—and plenty of reasons to visit.
