Kaizer Chiefs: Nabi loses his cool after poor result against Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has become a fearsome character in press conferences.
After what was a rather lacklustre 1-1 draw against Sekhukhune United in Polokwane last Saturday, coach Nabi ripped into reports after he was asked about his rumoured exit from Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the season.
'The news comes from a journalist,' Nabi told the media in Polokwane.
'I respect you, I respect all the journalists. I need all journalists to respect me as well. Because this news is bad for me. They create confusion in my team. This is bad, it's not professional, and it's not correct,' Nabi added as quoted by Hollywood Bets .
'The whole of Africa called me because they think I'm free, because I have finished with Kaizer Chiefs, and I'm not. This is incorrect. Please be professional,' the Tunisian coach pleaded.

Kaizer Chiefs announce signing number NINE!

Kaizer Chiefs are not slowing down on the field and nor are they doing so on the transfer market. Chiefs have started the season in perfect fashion winning three out of their three games so far as things stand. That has resulted in nine points and three clean sheets in the process. It seems that Chiefs are winning both on and off the field. On Tuesday it was confirmed that Luke Baartman had won his case against Cape Town Spurs, arguing he is a free agent. This after the club was relegated to the amateur ranks. Just like his former captain at the club and fellow new Amakhosi signing Asanele Velebayi, he was fighting for his clearance. Velebayi was announced by Chiefs straight after the ruling on the PSL DRC and now so has Baartman. Following the attacker's victory, he was announced as a Glamour Boy on the same day. 'Following this morning's announcement of the acquisition of Etiosa Ighodaro, Kaizer Chiefs are pleased to confirm the signing of another forward, Luke Baartman, making him the Club's ninth signing of the 2025/26 season. The 19-year-old junior international joins Amakhosi from Cape Town Spurs, where he played in the Motsepe Foundation League last season. He has also represented South Africa at the junior level. 'We're thrilled to welcome Luke to our team,' says Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. 'He is an exciting young talent that we've been monitoring for the past few seasons both at Club level, in the Bayhill Cup – where he was voted player of the tournament – and the U-17 national team that played at AFCON. We believe he will bring valuable versatility, playing both as a centre-forward and a winger. We look forward to seeing him in action soon.' Wrote the club on their website . Baartman training with his new teammates is still subject to the Spurs appeal decision, just like Velebayi. Chiefs fans, are you happy to see Baartman announced by your club? New: How Mamelodi Sundowns tried to block Kaizer Chiefs signing!

Kaizer Chiefs have completed their eighth signing of the current transfer window and its a long-term target! On Tuesday morning, Chiefs announced the signing of striker Etiosa Ighodaro from Mamelodi Sundowns as a free agent. But Chiefs had to fight tooth and nail for Ighodaro's services. According to FARPost, Sundowns didn't want to let the target man go to Naturena on a free transfer. 'When Masandawana got wind of the fact that the player was signing with Chiefs, they moved swiftly to offer him a 'new deal'. The Betway Premiership reigning champions promised this would be the season they would give him a chance with Peter Shalulile, and Lucas Ribeiro Costa is likely to leave. Ighodaro recently refused a new offer from Sundowns, who were eager to get him to stay at the club this time around. There were also efforts to facilitate a deal for him to move to Tunisian giants Esperance, which he turned down. The idea by Sundowns was seemingly not to have him complete a move to their rivals, Chiefs. Seeing that he was not going to be released by Sundowns, the player and his management team initiated legal proceedings to obtain a clearance.'. 'Sundowns were reportedly advised that they would lose the case if they tried fighting. Eventually, they issued a clearance on Monday, allowing the player to complete his move to the Chiefs. It means he (Ighodaro) joins Chiefs on a free transfer.' Wrote the publication. Ighodaro ended up being signing number eight for Chiefs and their second striker of the window. He is expected to compete with fellow new signing Flavio Silva, Tashreeq Morris, Wandile Duba and Naledi Hlongwane. So far, he has managed to score 25 goals in 97 topflight goals in South Africa.
