Amazon rolls out Gopuff ultra-fast grocery deliveries across UK
Gopuff promises same-day delivery from local 'micro-fulfilment centres' – with orders arriving in under an hour and as fast as 15 minutes, available all day, every day.
The Pennsylvania-based company was one of a clutch of ultra-fast grocery delivery companies that expanded quickly during the Covid-19 pandemic when lockdowns heightened consumer demand.
Turkey-based rival Getir pulled out of the UK, Europe and the US last year after its finances came under pressure and it kickstarted a cost-cutting drive.
Amazon's UK roll-out of Gopuff follows an initial launch to residents in Birmingham and Salford in May.
The service is now available in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Chessington, Coventry, Derby, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Salford, Sheffield and Swansea.
It joins grocery retailers Morrisons and Iceland, which are available to Amazon's UK customers.
Russell Jones, Amazon's director of grocery partnerships, said: 'We are always working to give customers more choice and more convenient options to have their groceries delivered.
'The new launch with Gopuff brings our customers access to a convenient and affordable way to access their everyday groceries.'

READ MORE: Amazon rolls out ultra-fast grocery deliveries in 15 minutes LATEST: 'Flawless' undereye beauty buy that lasts all day now less than £30 at Sephora With most of Wales, and the rest of the UK, experiencing warm and sunny weather in recent weeks, customers may be looking for ways of keeping cool when they are at home. With Shark's HydroGo evaporating cooling technology, which produces ultra-fine droplets, purchasers can enjoy "refreshing" mist both indoors and outdoors, according to Amazon. This cordless device could be suitable for people looking for ways to keep cool while they are sleeping or working from home. The fan has so far received a rating of 4.7 out of five stars based on 204 global ratings. "This is chefs kiss!" one happy customer remarked. "So quiet, mist cools the room down. "I bought this for my room that gets the sun all day right till sun down and it has helped me to sleep at night again. Only con for me is you can't get a stand for it which would be handy. But overall this is so good!" Meanwhile, another pleased shopper said: "Perfect for staying comfortable on the go. Its lightweight design and ergonomic handle make it easy to carry, whether you're at work, outdoors, or relaxing at home. "It's quiet, has adjustable fan speeds, and runs up to 8 hours on a single charge. The USB-C charging port ensures quick recharges, and the (small) water reservoir is simple to refill. "If you need a personal cooling solution, the HydroGo is a solid pick. It's practical, stylish, and easy to use." Another review claimed it was "worth every penny", before adding: "After years of buying cheap fans that break quickly and end up being a waste of money, I finally decided to invest in a higher-quality one and now I completely understand why it's worth spending a bit more. This fan is a game changer! "Yes, it's slightly bulkier than the ultra-cheap models, but it looks sleek and sophisticated. The size is due to the powerful built-in battery, which is amazing. I love that I can take it to the park or use it in the garden without needing to keep it plugged in. "The misting feature is a brilliant bonus. Really unique feature and perfect for those hot summer days. Just a small amount of water goes a long way. "It's also super easy to use. I didn't have to read through loads of instructions. It comes with helpful (removable) stickers on the device that explain everything you need to know." While most of the reviews were favourable, one customer suggested there's room for improvement. One shopper, who gave it a four-star review, said: "The controls are very straightforward and quite intuitive: you barely need to read the instructions. "The only reason I've knocked a star off is because it would be really useful to have a remote control with it ... but that's the only (minor) gripe that I have." The device is said to be "durable outdoors" and "quiet indoors", with its outdoor durability making it rain resistant and resistant to UV, as well as its quiet operation providing minimal disturbance indoor. It has up 20 metres of reach, it is portable and customisable and weighs less than 2.1kg. The cordless fan can come with accessories, but these are sold separately, for example, a power bank, car charger, telescoping pedestal and a carry bag. That's because Amazon has slashed the price of an 'enchanting' designer perfume. With its Prime Day event approaching on July 8-11, the online giant is already slashing the prices of numerous best-sellers, including fragrances. For those looking to bag a bargain scent, we've spotted an amazing discount on the much-loved Vera Wang Princess Eau de Toilette. A 100ml bottle of the scent would normally set customers back £66, but it's now reduced to £17.75 in the Amazon sale, saving shoppers a huge £48.25. Top notes of water lily, golden apricot and mandarin meringue are blended with base notes of vanilla chiffon, amber and forbidden woods, delivering the ultimate fruity, floral fragrance. The same Vera Wang perfume is on sale at Boots for £26, while The Perfume Shop has it for £23.99. Housed in a striking heart-shaped bottle, which is topped with a gold crown lid, it makes the perfect gift for a loved one. Similar scents have been slashed in price as well. Over on LookFantastic, the Versace Crystal Noir Eau de Toilette (30ml) is down to £42.75, reduced from £57. This seductive perfume delivers fruity, floral and amber accords. Meanwhile, Charlotte Tilbury is offering its Love Frequency Perfume Set for £91 instead of £130 - a saving of 30%. It gets shoppers 100ml and 10ml bottles of the brand's woody floral fragrance. On the Amazon website, the discounted Vera Wang fragrance has garnered plenty of glowing reviews from shoppers. More than 5,000 people have given it a five-star rating, proving how popular it is. From the moment she sprayed it, she was impressed by the luxurious scent—it's elegant, long-lasting, and not overpowering. "The fragrance has the perfect balance of floral and warm notes, making it ideal for both everyday wear and special occasions. She received so many compliments and has already decided to buy it again for herself." A second person was also impressed, adding: "A true gem in the world of fragrances. Its enchanting scent, versatile nature, stunning packaging, and long-lasting allure make it a must-have for anyone seeking to channel their inner princess." Yet, the scent wasn't for everyone. They added: "Beautiful fragrance at a marvellous price delivered quickly too. It's been a while since using it and has made me very happy."
