
Bahrain Fintech Bay recognized for fintech excellence with Future Fit Seal Award
Manama, Bahrain – Bahrain Fintech Bay (BFB), the Kingdom's fintech ecosystem builder, which is strategically supported by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), received the Future Fit Seal award during the World Government Summit 2025 held in Dubai, recognizing Bahrain's excellence in the fintech and digital innovation landscape. The award was presented by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) in the presence of Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future in the UAE Government, and other government officials.
The Future Fit Seal is a national symbol launched by the Government Development and the Future Office of the UAE government. This recognition highlights Bahrain Fintech Bay's pivotal role in accelerating fintech initiatives, shaping Bahrain's fintech ecosystem, and driving financial innovation in the region. This also places Bahrain at the forefront of fintech advancements and reinforces its status as a key regional hub for financial technology and innovation.
As one of the first countries in the region to introduce comprehensive, forward-thinking crypto-asset regulations, Bahrain has positioned itself as a leading hub playing a key role in the blockchain, crypto, digital assets, and fintech ecosystem. The collaboration between government entities, financial institutions, and the private sector has been instrumental in creating a regulatory and business-friendly environment for fintech innovation.
Commenting on this award, Abdulwahed AlJanahi, Chairman of Bahrain FinTech Bay, said: 'Bahrain's fintech ecosystem has been built on a foundation of collaboration with different key stakeholders. Dubai Strengthens Global Lead in Creative Sector Investment
Arabian Post Staff -Dubai Dubai has solidified its position as the premier global destination for greenfield foreign direct investment in the cultural and creative industries , securing the top spot in the Financial Times' fDi Markets ranking for the third consecutive year. In 2024, the emirate attracted 971 CCI projects, marking an 8% increase from the previous year. These ventures brought in AED 18.86 billion in capital inflows, a surge of nearly 60% compared to 2023, and generated 23,517 new jobs, reflecting a 9% year-on-year rise. ADVERTISEMENT The report evaluated 233 cities under the 'Creative Industries Cluster' classification, with Dubai outperforming major global hubs such as London and Singapore. Key growth areas within Dubai's CCI sector included advertising and public relations, film and media production, gaming, education, and advanced software design. According to the Dubai FDI Monitor, greenfield, wholly-owned ventures constituted 76.5% of all projects, while new forms of investment accounted for 15.4%, reinvestment 5.6%, and mergers and acquisitions 2.4%. Flexible government policies have played a significant role in boosting FDI flows into the CCI sector, enhancing Dubai's appeal to investors, entrepreneurs, and innovators. Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, stated, 'Through strategic planning and pioneering initiatives, Dubai has cultivated an environment that empowers creatives, investors, and entrepreneurs to realise their ideas and turn them into impactful, sustainable projects that enrich the emirate's cultural fabric.' The United States led in terms of FDI capital inflows into Dubai's CCI sector in 2024, contributing 23.2%, followed by India , the United Kingdom , Switzerland , and Saudi Arabia . In terms of the number of FDI projects, India topped the list with 18.8%, followed by the United Kingdom , the United States , Germany , and Italy .

Dubai has secured the prestigious role of hosting the 2026 International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA), further cementing its status as a global cultural and creative hub. The announcement came at the close of this year's ISEA event in Seoul, South Korea, recognising Dubai's vibrant arts scene, world-class infrastructure, and commitment to innovation. The bid was championed by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and Zayed University. Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating it reflects Dubai's growing influence in the global art and digital innovation sectors. She attributed the city's cultural ascent to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. ISEA, founded in 1988 and currently managed by the University for the Creative Arts in the UK, is a leading international platform where artists, technologists, and academics converge to explore the intersection of art, science, and technology. Previous host cities include Paris, Montreal, and Barcelona. The 2026 symposium will run from April 10 to 17 under the theme 'ELYAH: Constellating Place, Data and Identity.' UAE committed to empower Emirati entrepreneurs, says Sheikh Hamdan
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, witnessed the launch of the 'UAE Future 50' initiative, featuring a list of future-focused Emirati companies. Jointly developed by the Government Development and the Future Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, the initiative is part of the Riyada entrepreneurship ecosystem, which aims to enhance the national startup and innovation landscape. The initiative features 50 promising startups launched by Emirati entrepreneurs across 15 future-focused economic sectors that boost the diversification and resilience of the national economy. These sectors span fintech, healthtech, edtech, HR tech, food and agri-tech, space, cybersecurity, sustainability, renewable energy, smart mobility, advanced and creative industries, legal tech, and the sharing economy. Sheikh Hamdan underscored the UAE leadership's commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering an economic environment that supports startups in future-focused sectors. He noted that Emirati innovators are playing a key role in driving economic diversification, advancing future-focused industries, and strengthening the nation's global competitiveness-efforts that align with the ambitions of 'We the UAE 2031' vision.
