The Met Gala kicked off on the rainy first Monday in May. This year's theme is 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." One of fashion's biggest nights celebrates black dandyism. This year, the event is chaired by Anna Wintour and co-chaired by Colman Domingo, Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky and Lewis Hamilton. LeBron James is also an honorary co-chair; however, the basketball star will not be in attendance due to a knee injury.
This year's Met Gala also has a host committee including members such as André 3000, Doechii, Ayo Edebiri, Jeremy O. Harris, Spike Lee, Tonya Lewis Lee, Audra McDonald, Janelle Monáe, Angel Reese, Sha'Carri Richardson, Tyla, Usher and Kara Walker.
The red carpet started at 5:30 p.m., and many musicians showed up to showcase their exciting themed outfits.
