Prateik Babbar Reveals Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar Wanted To Adopt Him After Smita Patil's Death

Prateik Babbar joked about being Farhan Akhtar's step brother.
Prateik Babbar is the son of Smita Patil and Raj Babbar. Raj Babbar was already married to Nadira when he started his affair with Smita. However, he left her to marry the actress. Smita Patil passed away in 1986 while giving birth to Prateik. After her death, Prateik was raised by Smita's parents. However, he recently revealed that Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar were ready to adopt him.
Prateik Babbar told Zoom, 'I recently found out Shabana (Azmi) ji and Javed (Akhtar) sahab wanted to adopt me after my mother passed away. It was kind of complicated. I could've been Farhan's (Akhtar) stepbrother. I find these new things about me all the time. Aur kya hai, batao (what else is there, tell me). It's also very overwhelming. Ye hota toh main pata nahi kaisi zindagi jee raha hota (If this had happened, I don't know what kind of a life I'd be leading now)."
He continued, 'There are many things I hear about me as a child. There was a custody fight for me in my childhood. I was so little, just crying, I had no idea what was happening with me. People wanted to adopt me." The actor mentioned that all his mother's contemporaries have been kind to him throughout his life.
'I'm very grateful for all the love she gets, and all the goodwill she has in the industry, among all her colleagues and friends. Shabana ji was definitely one of them, along with Javed sahab. Amit ji (Amitabh Bachchan) has always been very kind and supportive. I think everybody from her time, everybody she shared upon with, Naseer sahab (Naseeruddin Shah), Ratna (Pathak Shah) ji, the late great Shyam Benegal obviously. That was a different era. I recently found out about myself, I was conceived on the sets of Mirch Masala (1987)," Prateik said.

Sometimes, they take a hero and pay a lot of money, and then the film doesn't work. Why doesn't their fees get affected?" Wamiqa said. And the actor is finding her own way to fight back against the pay gap. She added, 'I want to find different ways to earn that money. I wish to do it in a creative way where I feel happier and decrease that pay gap for myself. I can't deny this fact that pay disparity is there. Not every 'male-centric' film can do without the female lead." Wamiqa was recently seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf opposite Rajkummar Rao. The film also stars Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra and Ishtiyak Khan. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films. Bhool Chuk Maaf revolves around a soon-to-be-married man who realises that he is stuck in a time loop and keeps reliving the day before his wedding. Directed by Karan Sharma, the romantic comedy film was released on May 23. Next, she will be seen in Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling, Bhooth Bangla and Goodachari 2.
