Let Environment Day be celebrated throughout the year: Karnataka BJP president Vijayendra
Speaking after inaugurating the seed ball distribution programme at Suttur, he called for the complete shunning of single-use plastic use, which, according to him, must start from our homes. 'When you go back to your homes, make sure you stop using plastic (single-use),' he advised the participants.
Praising the Suttur Math for its initiatives and concern towards the environment, he said that people have forgotten their duties and are causing more harm to the environment. 'This has led to global warming. The concern towards the environment is on the decline, and natural disasters are more frequent due to the damage.'
Mr. Vijayendra said it is equally important to safeguard the environment along with the advancement of technological developments. 'Sparrows have disappeared and even butterflies are not seen as prominently as they were earlier. Saving trees and planting more trees are the need of the hour to save our nature,' he added.
MP for Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, who spoke on the occasion, complimented the Suttur Math for the seed ball initiative considering the need to plant more trees and protect our environment. 'The Math is known for its services in various fields, including education and health, and I am happy to participate in this programme visiting Suttur.'
Mr. Yaduveer also recalled the association between the Math and the Mysuru Palace.
Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Math also spoke at the event.

Rahul's actions dangerous, says BJP; calls Aug 5 protest anti-democratic
BENGALURU: Opposition BJP leaders in Karnataka have accused Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi of attempting to create distrust in the democratic system by making baseless allegations against the Election Commission. The BJP leader termed Congress' decision to protest against the ECI as 'absurd and height of frustration.' Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra told reporters that to inform the public about Congress' 'misleading stand', BJP is staging a protest demonstration at the Mahatma Gandhi statue near Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru at 10 am on August 5. On the same day, Congress leaders are also staging a protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru. Vijayendra said Rahul's remarks about electoral fraud are an insult to the voters of the country and against the Constitution. The BJP MPs, MLAs, MLCs, former MPs, and legislators will take part in the protest. They would submit a formal memorandum to the Governor, he added. Vijayendra described Rahul's actions as dangerous and anti-democratic. He said that DK Suresh lost in Bengaluru Rural, and that is why his brother and DyCM DK Shivakumar is alleging election fraud there. In Bengaluru Central, BJP MP PC Mohan won, and the BJP received maximum leads from Mahadevapura and Rajajinagar, he said. He questioned whether the Chief Minister and Deputy CM do not trust their own officers who conducted the election duties, and whether they have control over their own administration. 'Rahul is frustrated after losing elections consecutively for third term starting 2014, and he cannot digest the fact that Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister for the third time,' the BJP leader said.

BJP to protest against Rahul ‘s election fraud remarks on August 5
Bengaluru: Accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of insulting voters with his statements about alleged election fraud, BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra announced that the party will stage a protest on August 5 near the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Vidhana Soudha. The demonstration will be followed by a delegation meeting with the Governor to submit a formal complaint. Speaking to the press at BJP's state office, Jagannath Bhavan, Vijayendra slammed Rahul Gandhi for attempting political theatrics in Bengaluru on August 5. He alleged that Gandhi's remarks on electoral malpractice not only undermine democratic institutions like the Election Commission but also amount to an insult to the people of Karnataka and the nation. 'All BJP MPs, MLAs, MLCs, former legislators, and party leaders will participate in this protest. Through this, we aim to expose Congress' deceitful political narrative to the public,' Vijayendra declared. He further criticized the Congress-led state government, accusing it of making special arrangements for Gandhi's visit by breaking down a compound wall and cutting down trees at Freedom Park to accommodate the Congress rally. 'Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah owe an apology to the people of the state for this,' he asserted. Vijayendra went on to accuse the Congress party of promoting a baseless and dangerous narrative. He said the party had launched a 'new wave of confusion' in Karnataka and across the country, with Rahul Gandhi making repeated, unsubstantiated claims about electoral fraud in various states, including Karnataka. Referring to Gandhi's claim of possessing '100 percent proof' of electoral irregularities, Vijayendra questioned why neither Gandhi nor any Congress leaders had approached the High Court or the Supreme Court with these alleged proofs. 'Instead of legal recourse, they choose to malign the credibility of the Election Commission. This is nothing but a drama born out of desperation,' he said. Taking a sharp dig, Vijayendra said, 'Rahul Gandhi is politically bankrupt and directionless. His leadership is like a missile without guidance. After facing humiliating defeats, he has begun blaming constitutional institutions, undermining public trust, and launching a deceptive campaign.' The BJP's protest on August 5 is being positioned as a counter to Gandhi's planned rally on the same day, which the Congress has called to highlight alleged vote rigging in the Mahadevapura constituency during the last Lok Sabha elections.
