Fortnite x Squid Game collab set to shake up creative mode with deadly challenges
Fortnite is taking its latest crossover into a darker, more competitive arena as it teams up with Netflix's global phenomenon Squid Game for a brand-new experience set to launch on June 27.
Unlike previous high-profile collaborations, this one won't be part of the main Battle Royale mode, but will instead live within Fortnite's Creative universe - giving players the power to recreate, design, and survive the game's infamous challenges.
Squid Game comes to creative mode
Announced during the 2025 State of Unreal presentation, the collaboration introduces Squid Game assets to the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), enabling creators to build custom islands inspired by the show's brutal games.
From 'Red Light, Green Light' to the iconic Glass Bridge, these fan-favorite tests of survival will now get the Epic Games stamp of approval, allowing for deeper immersion and greater authenticity.
Over the past few years, community-made Squid Game maps - such as sundaycw's wildly popular 'Octo Game 2,' have gained traction among Creative players. However, these maps were based on fan interpretation. With official tools and show-accurate designs entering the mix, creators now have more firepower than ever to bring the twisted world of Squid Game to life inside Fortnite.
What's also fuelling buzz is the speculation around whether the collaboration will remain limited to Creative mode. Fortnite's Competitive X account chimed in on the teaser post, sparking theories that the crossover could bleed into competitive tournaments or limited-time modes. Though nothing has been confirmed, the idea of players battling for V-Bucks - or even real money, in Squid Game-style events has fans intrigued.
There's also curiosity around cosmetics. While Epic Games has yet to confirm the release of Squid Game-themed skins, many expect that Pink Guard outfits, contestant tracksuits, and themed emotes will soon hit the Item Shop - a familiar pattern following collaborations with franchises like The Walking Dead and Fall Guys.
The crossover has already stirred mixed reactions online. While some fans hailed it as 'the most peak collab to date,' others called Squid Game 'overrated' or questioned Fortnite's recent creative direction. Still, with its official rollout just weeks away, the collaboration promises to offer players a gripping new way to engage with both franchises.
Whether you're in it to survive, build, or simply collect cosmetics, Fortnite's dive into Squid Game territory marks a bold gamble - and one the community will be watching very closely.

'They're pressuring these creators to donate money': Nick Eh 30 claims MrBeast gets all the credit for Team Water donations
Image via: Instagram/Nick Eh 30 In the era of livestreaming and viral online challenges, giving has found its digital manifestation. MrBeast, who ranks among one of the biggest names on YouTube, started TeamWater on August 1, 2025, a massive movement to raise millions for clean-water access worldwide. In a little over two weeks, the efforts passed the $30 million mark, thanks to donations from fans, corporations, and other creators. Yet recognition for the extremely worthy cause has been an issue of contention within the creator community, with the debate spilling over into alleged pressuring tactics. Nick Eh 30 On The Pressure Talk Nick Eh 30, a Twitch streamer and Fortnite athlete, expressed his feelings during a recent broadcast, in which he basically said that while the cause was worthy, the somewhat forced participation from some creators put people on the fence about it. He mentioned, 'So, MrBeast gets all the credit. So, you know when he's, you know, asking people to donate on a stream and stuff and pressuring them. I just think it's kind of a little weird. Bro, when they're pressuring these creators to donate money and everything for that. I can see why some creators don't want to do it because it's MrBeast's name that gets all the recognition." The Recognition Dilemma Nick's question, which goes into the whole ownership theme, somehow lies at the heart of the entire critique. MrBeast has basically branded himself as an online philanthropist through TeamTrees and TeamSeas, two extraordinarily popular campaigns. TeamWater is in line with this legacy, but according to Nick, it could be to the detriment of much smaller creators. For some, the issue is not that they would refuse to donate for a worthwhile cause-it is in being pressured to do so in public spaces where refraining from it could be deemed socially frowned upon. In an environment where image and branding are everything, creators often weigh not only the financial cost of donation but also the optics of being a part of-or in some instances refusing to be-a well-publicized call to action. Big Synergy for a Big Cause In spite of the uneasy feelings, TeamWater this time received massive support. Top influencers such as Sophie Rain pledged seven figures in donations. At the same time, streaming behemoths such as Felix "xQc" and Adin Ross teamed with MrBeast for a marathon fundraising stream. Their initial ambition was continuous streaming to collect $12 million, but the campaign has more than doubled that target. For the supporters, the huge response has proved that the end justifies the means. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

Did Beyond the Bar star Lee Jin-wook sexually assault his friend? Allegations resurface as JTBC K-drama climbs Netflix charts
Netflix's new Korean legal drama Beyond the Bar has surged into the platform's global Top 10, but its rise is shadowed by renewed discussion of sexual assault allegations tied to lead actor Lee Jin-wook. The series, in which Lee plays seasoned lawyer Yoon Seok-hoon mentoring a rookie attorney, has earned international buzz - yet online debate has focused as much on his past as on the show's courtroom battles. The drama's success is undeniable. According to FlixPatrol, Beyond the Bar broke into Netflix's Top 10 non-English series worldwide, taking the number 10 spot with 3.1 million watch hours across 1.8 million viewers. But while audiences are praising the on-screen story, off-screen controversies tied to Lee Jin-wook have resurfaced. Old allegations resurface against Lee Jin-wook The controversy traces back to July 2016, when Lee Jin-wook visited the apartment of a woman identified by the surname Oh. According to court documents, he went there late at night, allegedly to help her install blinds. Oh claimed she offered him a shower and gave him a T-shirt, after which the two had sex. Later that same month, Oh filed a rape accusation against Lee, stating that the encounter was non-consensual. In response, Lee filed a countersuit for false accusation. During the police investigation, Oh submitted underwear she said she had worn during the incident. Testing revealed Lee's DNA on the clothing. By 2017, the case reached court. The Seoul Central District Court ultimately ruled in Oh's favour, concluding that her claims were not entirely groundless and that Lee's countersuit could not be upheld. The Seoul Central District Court delivered its judgment, acquitting Oh of making a false accusation. "The fact that Lee visited Oh's apartment and that she offered him a shower and gave him the shirt suggest that they had agreed on having sex," the court said. "However, there is also a possibility that she acted purely on graciousness," The Korea Times had reported. The court acknowledged Oh's consistent testimony during questioning, noting she repeatedly described the encounter as non-consensual and expressed the shame she felt afterward. "Even from Lee's statements, it appeared he neither asked her whether she agreed to have sex with him nor she consented to that," the court said. "It is thus plausible that Lee's false accusation charge does not have any evidence." Fan backlash: can audiences separate the actor from the drama? As Beyond the Bar continues to trend on Netflix, fans on Reddit have raised concerns about Lee Jin-wook's involvement. Many expressed disbelief that a drama led by the actor is receiving international acclaim given his controversial past. Some even pointed out that they avoided watching Squid Game because of his role as Player 246, questioning how his projects continue to receive global recognition despite unresolved allegations. About Beyond the Bar So far, only four of the 12 episodes have aired, with the first episode premiering on August 2, 2025. The JTBC drama is scheduled to conclude on September 7, 2025, with new episodes released on Netflix every Saturday and Sunday.
