Listing the objectives of the meetings conducted by the CM while he was in the hospital, the minister said, 'He reviewed the progress of the 'Ungaludan Stalin' camps with the chief secretary and higher officials, and also discussed with the district collectors via video call. He also prepared the representation for the state developments, to be submitted to PM Narendra Modi during his visit to Tamil Nadu. Despite being in the hospital, he continued to discharge his duties without any interruptions.'

MP to launch Rs 371 crore electronics manufacturing cluster for R&D
In a boost to India's electronics and semiconductor ambitions, Madhya Pradesh is set to establish a state-of-the-art Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) with an investment of Rs 371 crore, aimed at advancing research and development in the sector. The Government of India has granted in-principle approval for the project, which will be jointly funded by the Centre and the state government. Madhya Pradesh will contribute Rs 225 crore, while Rs 146 crore will come from the central allocation, Kailash Vijayvargiya, the urban development minister, said here on Tuesday, announcing the cabinet decision. The EMC is expected to be a transformative step for science and technology in the region, providing a dedicated platform for innovation, testing, and product development. According to officials, the cluster will include advanced facilities such as testing and calibration labs, CAD/CAM design houses, tool rooms, and EMI/EMC centres, enabling engineering graduates and budding scientists to engage in cutting-edge research. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, who has been championing the state's semiconductor and electronics policy, emphasised that the cluster will bridge the gap between academic institutions and industry. 'We have several engineering colleges, but they lack the infrastructure and mentorship needed to channel talent into meaningful innovation. This cluster will offer our young scientists the opportunity to work on real-world R&D projects,' Vijayavargiya said. Earlier during the Global Investors Summit 2025, the chief minister had said the EMC will be part of a broader push under the Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Policy-2025, which aims to attract Rs 2,700 crore in investments over five years and generate over 14,000 jobs. The policy includes capital investment subsidies, concessional land, and power tariff support to incentivise companies to set up operations in the state. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, speaking at the summit, noted that Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a key player in India's electronics manufacturing ecosystem. With two EMCs already approved in Bhopal and Jabalpur, and over 85 companies active in the sector, the state is poised to become a hub for domestic and export-oriented electronics production. The new cluster is expected to not only strengthen India's technological capabilities but also empower the next generation of innovators with the tools, mentorship, and infrastructure needed to lead the country's digital future.

Alliance with AIADMK for 2026 polls restricted to only Tamil Nadu for now: Puducherry BJP in-charge
The BJP's alliance with All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is, as of now, restricted to Tamil Nadu, Nirmal Kumar Surana, Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Puducherry in-charge, told The Hindu. AIADMK Puducherry unit secretary A. Anbalagan had recently expressed displeasure over the BJP's decision to independently distribute welfare assistance in constituencies across the Union Territory. Asked about this, Mr. Surana said: 'As of now, our alliance for the 2026 Assembly polls with AIADMK pertains to only Tamil Nadu. So far, we have not held talks with AIADMK for coming Assembly polls in Puducherry. It is only an emerging political situation. Hence, we are working in all 30 constituencies to shore up our support base and strengthen our both level activities.' Mr. Surana was in Puducherry on Monday (August 18, 2025) for the party's election strategy meeting. On the accusation that BJP was working in constituencies even currently held by AINRC, he said 'our alliance partner too is active in all the 30 constituencies. Both the parties will try to strengthen their base in all constituencies There is nothing wrong in political parties trying to galvanise their workforce before the Assembly election. It will help the alliance only.' Asked if he was ruling out any electoral pact with the AIADMK in Puducherry, Mr. Surana said 'AIADMK is our valued partner and future decisions, electoral strategies are decided by our national leadership in consultation with partners.' In the last Assembly polls, the AINRC contested 16 seats and allotted 14 seats to BJP. The BJP had parted with 5 seats from its kitty to the AIADMK. The AINRC had won 10 and BJP 6. The Dravidian party had failed to win any of the seats it contested. The BJP leaders in recent meetings had expressed desire to contest more seats considering the strike rate the party achieved in the last polls. The AIADMK Puducherry leadership has requested Chief Minister N. Rangasamy to convene a meeting of National Democratic Alliance to sort out issues.
