An inquest heard his cause of death was a "combined toxicity" of drugs, including heroin, methadone and cocaine.
Tests also found he had traces of prescription medication in his system.
A coroner today concluded Paul's death as a misadventure.
Avon and Somerset Police previously confirmed they were called to the home in the Brislington area at around 5.20pm.
Tragically, Paul could not be saved and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
Officers confirmed they were not treating the reality star's death as suspicious.
Paul rose to fame in 1997 playing badboy Sol Patrick on Hollyoaks for four years.
He was also a contestant on Celebrity Love Island in 2005 and 2006.
Paul appeared in the 2006 ITV2 reality show Calum, Fran And Dangerous Danan, which saw the actor, former Westlife bodyguard Fran Cosgrave and George Best's son Calum Best travel across the US.
In 2017, he took part in Celebrity Big Brother, which he said hoped would give him a "second chance" at his career.
Paul Danan's haunting final instagram post revealed just days before tragic death aged 46
Other appearances included Celebrity Coach Trip, and Channel 4 sketch comedy programme The Kevin Bishop Show.
Away from the screen, Paul battled demons including substance abuse, which he discussed on The Jeremy Kyle Show in 2019.
The troubled star told how he battled a cocaine addiction and revealed he had been to rehab 17 times.
Paul, dad to nine-year-old DeNiro, had been due to appear in court to face drug charges the day after he was found dead.
He was charged with possessing cocaine and cannabis, along with driving under the influence of drugs last October.
The star also opened up about his health issues to The Sun last year - revealing that he suffered respiratory failure triggered by his addiction to vapes.
He then spent a week in intensive care, where he contracted pneumonia.
Afterwards, Paul said: 'I was dead — it's a miracle I'm here. I'm so lucky.'
Inside Paul Danan's tragic battle to beat vape 'obsession' & drug demons
PAUL Danan struggled with his health for years prior to his death aged 46.
The tragic death of the ex-Love Island and Hollyoaks star was announced on Instagram this morning.
It comes after he faced health battles including a vape addiction and relapsing during the Covid lockdowns.
Paul battled a history of cocaine addiction and previously revealed how he had been to rehab 17 times.
In June last year, he also told of how he had to be brought back to life after suffering respiratory failure triggered by his addiction to vapes.
Paul took up the habit after years of smoking, before collapsing and being given CPR as he was rushed to hospital.
He then spent a week in intensive care, where he contracted pneumonia.
During an appearance on The Jeremy Kyle Show in 2019, Paul told of how he had sought therapy over his health struggles as he continually relapsed.
Speaking at the time, he said: "I've had 17 stints in rehab. They do work. They're amazing.
"They've saved my life many times but it's maintenance and it's about sustaining that recovery and not putting anything before that recovery - even my little boy, who I love to death."
In August 2017, Paul told of how he died and was brought back to life after snorting heroin.
He would have lost his life had his mum not heard him gasping for breath in his bedroom and called for an ambulance.
Paul said: "My mum found me in my bed and I was making these weird noises and choking on my last breath.
'The ambulance was down the road thankfully, but by the time they arrived I was dead and they brought me back to life."
He revealed how his battles stemmed from a motorbike accident in 2010 that saw him develop an addiction to painkillers.
Paul had been in and out of rehab as early as 2006 and 2007, but said the accident caused him to spiral.
Following appearances on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity Coach Trip, Paul then opened up on how he shouldn't have been allowed to take part in reality TV shows.
After being shown a clip of himself drunkenly fighting with Calum Best during the one-off series Calum, Fran and Dangerous Danan, he said: "I should never have done any of those shows really because I wasn't well. I'm not well."
Tributes flooded in for the "exceptional talent" following the tragedy.
Calum Best, the son of footballer George, described him as one of the 'funniest, kindest, and most authentic people I've known'.
In an Instagram post, he said: "Paul was truly a creative genius too having all of us laughing our a**es off at his insta profile he made to rinse a certain era of celeb culture we lived.
'Life wasn't always easy for him, but he faced it with such heart and courage, and that inspired so many of us.
'We shared many laughs, chats, and unforgettable moments. My heart goes out to his loved ones right now. Rest easy, brother.'
TV presenter Vanessa Feltz also paid tribute to her 'fantastically gifted' friend.
She said: "He was a friend of mine and he was the most delightful person.
'You know, when someone comes in and you just know that the whole evening's going to be fabulous because he's going to be funny and he's going to be lively.
'He's going to be, you know, telling you stories he shouldn't have told you and telling you not to tell anyone and you immediately tell everyone.
'You know, he was funny and lively and lovely and warm and a fantastically gifted actor."
While Bafta-winning actor writer, director, and producer Adam Deacon said Paul was a 'genuinely kind and compassionate person'.
Paul was laid to rest in an emotional funeral on January 21 attended by Boyzone's Shane Lynch and his Hollyoaks co-stars.

Charles & Camilla weep at VJ Day ceremony as veteran goes off script with royal tribute before telling of horrors he saw

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) KING Charles and Queen Camilla were reduced to tears yesterday by a 105-year-old war veteran. Yavar Abbas, who served as an officer in the Far East and witnessed the horrors of the atom bomb at Hiroshima, was due to read from his war diary at a service to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day. Instead, he paid a moving tribute to the King, hailing his bravery in the face of cancer. Yavar told 1,500 guests gathered for the Royal British Legion service of remembrance: 'I make no apology for briefly going off the script to salute my brave King who is here with his beloved Queen, in spite of the fact that he's under treatment for cancer, an alien that I share with him. 'If it provides any comfort, of which I've been rid for the past 25 years and counting. Tears began to flow down Camilla's cheeks, while Charles, wearing a Field Marshal's uniform, looked visibly moved as they sat with veterans and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. Later, the Queen dabbed her eyes with a handkerchief and looked lovingly at her husband. The crowd cheered for Yavar, one of 33 veterans, aged 96 to 105, who attended the VJ80 commemoration at the National Memorial Arboretum near Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, to mark the day World War Two ended in 1945. Yavas, a former 2nd Lieutenant, went on to tell the audience of the horrors he witnessed in Burma as the Allied 14th Army fought a series of battles against Japanese invaders. Reading his diary entry written in February 1945, he recalled being ready to move out at first light with 'every chance of not coming back at all'. Incredible stories of the last heroes of The Forgotten Army as Britain falls silent to mark 80th anniversary of VJ Day The entry goes on: 'I could have been dead twice before, but I'm still living. I would be surprised if I get a life for a third time. May God spare me.' Yavar lived to tell his tale to the world on VJ Day and when he returned to his place among the veterans in the royal box, King Charles saluted him. John recalled: 'None of the crew survived. War doesn't grant you the luxury of goodbyes. 'Every year on VJ Day, I think of a close friend of mine that was on board, Mark Weber. War doesn't grant you the luxury of goodbyes John Harlow "I wish today for us to remember all the crew of HMS Porpoise, Mark and all lost at sea for in remembering they live on.' The King, Queen, PM and military top brass began the service by laying wreaths at a drumhead set up on the steps of the Arboretum's spectacular Armed Forces Memorial. At noon, the veterans and guests stood in 80-degree heat for the national two-minute silence to remember the almost 30,000 British forces killed in the Far East along with 13,000 who suffered unimaginable brutality as prisoners of war. 9 Camilla shares a smile with one of the guests at the service Credit: Reuters 9 Robert Lindsay read words Britain's last two Chindits had written about their time with the famous Long Range unit fighting behind the enemy lines Credit: Reuters During the silence, eight Red Arrows screamed overhead. Celia Imrie, who fell in love with India while filming The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel movie, paid tribute to the veterans and all who served: 'We wish to share our gratitude with all who served and were imprisoned. 'Your spirit and determination in the face of unspeakable horrors will not be forgotten.' Bill Jones, 99, of Staines, Surrey, was a Fleet Air Arm Fitter on the island of Ponam. Before the service he said 'I saw the prisoners, thin as rakes, bruises everywhere.' Britain's last two Chindits, Sid Machin, 101, of Christchurch, Dorset, and Charlie Richards, 104, from Kettering, Northants, sat side-by-side. Robert Lindsay read words they had written about their time with the famous Long Range unit fighting behind the enemy lines. 'Never be forgotten' The actor read: 'As we neared the end of our time in Burma, death became an everyday occurrence, with bodies to bury almost every evening, some from enemy action, most from the appalling conditions caused by the monsoon. 'After weeks of this, it made you wonder if it would be your shoulder that death would be tapping on next. When we came back, it felt like people forgot what we did in Burma. 'We still feel proud sitting here today representing all those brave boys we fought alongside in Burma, thanks to You, Sid and Charlie, the Chindits will never be forgotten.' Later the King and Queen then spent around an hour at the reception speaking to veterans. Charles told Charlie Richards, 104, one of the last surviving Chindits, a unit that fought deep behind enemy lines: 'The things you did, I could never get over. We owe you all such a huge debt of gratitude.' TOM'S LAST VIDEO By Mike Ridley ONE of the stars of the commemoration died the day before VJ Day. Former Royal Artillery bombardier Tom Jones, 103, spoke in a video played at the service about fighting in Burma, and how a Gurkha saved his life from the Japanese. But the audience was shocked when the host, actress Celia Imrie, said Tom, of Salford in Gtr Manchester, had died on Thursday afternoon after a short illness. In May, Tom told today's schoolchildren to 'choose peace' because war was 'truly terrible'.

I visited the tiny European island loved by Kate Moss and Katy Perry that looks straight out of the Maldives

Whatever you do, don't tell the Ibiza crowd about this refreshingly untouched isle SEA YOU THERE I visited the tiny European island loved by Kate Moss and Katy Perry that looks straight out of the Maldives Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ARRIVING in sun-drenched Ibiza with temperatures soaring above 30C, you might be tempted to kick off your shoes and declare your holiday had officially begun. But persevere on your journey a little longer and you will be rewarded with some of the Balearics' most unspoiled beaches. After touching down at Ibiza Airport, it's just a quick coach ride to the port, where the adventure begins. Following a scenic 30-minute ferry crossing, Tui is waiting with an air-conditioned minibus for the final leg. The destination? The Insotel Hotel Formentera Playa, which is perched on one of the island's dreamiest stretches of sand, Platja de Migjorn. We booked a superior studio room, and it turns out to be a great choice. Comfy and spotless, our room even has a little kitchen nook with a decent-sized fridge that's perfect for keeping our snacks and drinks cool. But the real star is that stunning sea view waiting to greet you each morning while you sip coffee on the balcony. Bliss. Days can be split between lazing by one of the two pools or venturing along the beach on the wooden walkways to golden sand. An early morning flight means that, after some speedy unpacking, we're lucky enough to steal a whole afternoon on the beach. Within minutes, we're running like giddy kids straight into the crystal-clear water. It doesn't take long to slip into the laid-back beach vibe, with mellow Ibizan bossa nova tunes floating through the air like a warm breeze. Best beaches in the world revealed At the hotel, bicycles are yours for the taking, free of charge, and with the island stretching only 12 miles from end to end, it's a great way to get around. Every beach and landmark is within easy reach, the roads are wide and safe, and drivers are courteous of tourists and locals alike. My husband, however, feels the need for something a touch more continental. So we swap pedals for petrol and hire a scooter to get around for the week. No trip to Formentera would be complete without visiting Ses Illetes beach Soon we're zipping about in style, the nostalgic smell and happy hum of the two-stroke engine a defining summer soundtrack of countless European holidays past. Four miles up the coast, or 15 minutes by scooter, Cala Saona is one of Formentera's must-visit beaches. Nicknamed 'the jewel of the west coast of Formentera', it's tucked away in a beautiful cove, with shallow, inviting waters. Flanked by cliffs, it's also a sheltered spot, shielded from the stronger winds that often impact southern shorelines. Located on the island's northernmost tip, this narrow strip of rock is fringed by powdery-white sand and turquoise sea. At its very end, you'll be rewarded with views of S'Espalmador, an islet within Formentera's Ses Salines Nature Park, part of a Unesco World Heritage site. This islet made headlines last year when Katy Perry filmed her Lifetimes music video there without permission from the Spanish authorities. Refreshingly untouched Sadly, no celebs are spotted this time, although Kate Moss has recently been galavanting on the beaches of Formentera, clutching a Birkin bag, no less. And, judging by the influx of superyachts moored in the bay during our visit, the stars must be close. Last year, my plan to reach the very tip of the island failed — so naturally, it's at the top of this year's must-do list. Armed with sandwiches and more water than seemed reasonable for the two-mile round trip, we set off. The path lead us over low rock formations and along beaches that grow ever narrower. 8 Guests wanting to simply lounge by the pool at the Insotel Hotel won't be disappointed Credit: Insotel 8 Kate Moss has recently been galavanting on the beaches of Formentera Credit: BackGrid Finally, we reached the end of the land, where the two tides meet. The sandbar is shallow and warm, perfect for wading far out while still being only knee-deep. That's one bucket-list item officially ticked. Back at the hotel, there is a range of activities to keep guests happy throughout the day, including yoga, massage, water polo and an energetic kids' club. Formentera is often hailed as the last truly authentic Balearic island Evenings offer diverse entertainment options, with buffet-style dinners that have enough variety to satisfy all tastebuds. Meanwhile, the hotel's South Beach bar provides a casual atmosphere, with day beds and sunken seats perfect for relaxing. Our evenings are happily spent here — cocktails and chilled-out music making it the perfect end to another sun-soaked day. With a week in Formentera feeling like two, it's easy to see why people come back here year on year. No doubt we'll be returning for another run of hippie adventure. Formentera is often hailed as the last truly authentic Balearic island — a little slice of paradise where time slows down, flip-flops are practically a dress code and the charm feels refreshingly untouched. BBC The One Show host rejects Celebrity Gladiators role 'I've got a mortgage to pay'

BBC The One Show host rejects Celebrity Gladiators role 'I've got a mortgage to pay' The TV star insisted she wouldn't risk injury on the thrilling BBC competition when probed by host Bradley Walsh. The One Show presenter Angellica Bell has declined an invitation to appear on Celebrity Gladiators, despite a personal request. ‌ The celebrity version of the much-loved BBC show made its debut last year, featuring Louise Minchin, Joel Dommett, Rob Becket and Ellie Taylor. ‌ This followed the revival of Gladiators by the BBC, marking the first time the series had been aired since its original run on ITV in 2000, showcasing a new group of superhumans demonstrating their speed, skill, stamina and strength. ‌ Bradley Walsh and his son Barney took over presenting duties from Ulrika Jonsson for the new series, and are set to return to the arena for its third season this year. Gladiators will return to the BBC soon (Image: BBC / Hungry Bear Media) However, before that, a second series of Celebrity Gladiators has just wrapped up filming, starring Joe Wicks, Sam Thompson, Nicola Adams and Vogue Williams, reports the Mirror. Article continues below During an appearance on The One Show, host Bradley gave a sneak peek into the competition, revealing: "They were fantastic, it was closer than you could possibly imagine." "You are going to be surprised, it's a brilliant show," he hinted. "They're really competitive." He then asked Celebrity Big Brother star Angellica about a potential future appearance, but she quickly insisted she would never participate, a sentiment echoed by The One Show co-host Clara Amfo. ‌ Bradley Walsh probed The One Show hosts on a future appearance on Celebrity Gladiators (Image: BBC) "Yeah you would," Bradley retorted. "No, I've got a mortgage to pay! I want to keep my teeth in check," Angellica joked. ‌ Ahead of the new celebrity edition, the participating stars expressed their anticipation and competitive spirit. Joe enthused: "Gladiators is one of the most iconic shows of all time, and I'm absolutely buzzing to be taking part. I grew up watching it, so to now step into the arena myself is going to be an incredible experience. I know it's going to be tough, but I'm ready to give it everything I've got." Rob Beckett, Joel Dommett, Ellie Taylor and Louise Minchin took part in the first Celebrity Gladiators (Image: PA) Sam chimed in: "Just when I've finished one challenge I'm onto the next, and this time I'm up against real life Gladiators! Bring it on and get me up that travelator! But on a serious note, I genuinely can't wait to take part, I'm so excited. I grew up watching the show, so to now be taking on the Gladiators in real life is really cool." Article continues below Nicola added her thoughts: "I'm absolutely buzzing to be part of the Gladiators Celebrity Special! It's such an iconic show and growing up, I loved watching the epic battles and strong personalities. Now, getting the chance to step into that arena myself, it's a whole new kind of challenge. I may be a champion in the boxing ring, but this is different. I'm ready to give it everything I've got!" And Vogue shared: "This is wild. I have loved this show since I was little and I'll be living out my childhood dream just stepping into the arena. But I can't quite process how I'll actually face these amazing Gladiators. I'm just delighted to be a contender!" The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer. Gladiators returns to BBC soon.
