UAE petrol prices to drop sharply in April 2025

The UAE has announced petrol prices for April 2025, with a sharp drop revealed across all categories.
It is welcome news for customers, following a slight fall in March, and means it is cheaper to fill up on Super 98, Special 95, E-Plus 91 and diesel than at any point in the past three years.
A reduction in price takes the price of E-Plus to just AED2.38 a litre and comes after 12 months of fluctuating prices.

From April 1, the cost of filling up vehicles in the UAE will be:
E-Plus: AED2.38 a litre from AED2.54 in March
Special 95: AED2.46 a litre from AED2.61 in March
Super 98: AED2.57 a litre from AED2.73 in March
Diesel: AED2.63 a litre from AED2.77 in March
In April 2024, E-Plus 91 was priced at AED2.96 a litre, while diesel was set at AED3.09 a litre.
On current prices, E-Plus 91 is cheaper (at AED2.38 a litre) than at this time last year.
Special 95 and Super 98 are also cheaper now than a year ago, falling from AED3.03 to AED2.46 a litre and AED3.15 to 2.57 a litre respectively.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Fuel Price Committee froze petrol prices in the UAE, preventing any changes.
However, in March 2021, as global oil prices began to rise, the controls were lifted to allow market forces to determine petrol prices once again.
Moreover, the fluctuation in petrol prices is also influenced by changes in crude oil prices worldwide.

Parkin and e& to roll out 30-minute EV charging stations in Dubai

Parkin, Dubai's largest paid parking services provider, has partnered with a subsidiary of e& to roll out 200 ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the city, and reduce charging time to under 30 minutes. Phase one of the EV charging initiative will result in the installation of 20 charging stations in some of the city's busiest locations. Over the subsequent twelve months, the programme will deliver 200 public and private charging points. DC charger technology offers significantly faster charging capabilities compared to alternating current (AC) systems. The park and charge service will be available for reservation through Parkin's intuitive mobile application, providing real-time charging status updates and secure in-app payment functionality. Parkin, which operates approximately 212,000 paid parking spaces across Dubai, signed an MoU with charge&go in October 2024 at the annual GITEX exhibition, the world's largest technology and startup event. The new DC charging network will operate under a strict 'park and charge' protocol, permitting vehicles to occupy designated charging bays only while actively charging. This measure will help to reduce overstay and unauthorised use of dedicated parking bays.
