Aaron Glenn: Jets won't be trading Breece Hall
The Jets are still trying to put that talk to an end.
'We have like three good running backs, and I keep saying that,' coach Aaron Glenn told reporters on Tuesday. 'Listen, they all have different skill sets that we're gonna utilize. And that does not mean that I'm trading Breece. OK? Does not. So, I'm gonna say that right now. I just like having three good guys. Hell, I wish I had more. But we don't.'
Hall, a second-round pick from Iowa State, made a quick splash as a rookie. He had 116 rushing yards in an upset over the Packers at Lambeau Field, one week before suffering a season-ending ACL tear in the second quarter of a game in which he already had 72 rushing yards.
Hall returned in 2023 to rush for 994 yards, with another 591 receiving yards and nine total touchdowns. Last year, he had 876 rushing yards, 483 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns.
He's listed as the starter, with Braelon Allen at No. 2 and Isaiah Davis as the third-stringer. Hall has a base salary of $3.4 million in 2025, the last year of his rookie deal.
Scattered rumors have emerged of potential interest in Hall. Some have popped up recently. As the Jets tell it, he won't be going anywhere.
Obviously, however, there aren't many truly untradeable players. If someone makes the Jets the right offer, it's possible that they'd accept it.

Kansas State vs. Iowa State is not only a battle of Big 12 squads, but it's also a contest between two teams ranked in the top 25. Which team comes out of this weekend unscathed? No. 17 Kansas State (-3) vs. No. 22 Iowa State My first pick probably will not go over well with my friends in Ames, as I am an unofficial ambassador there — but I do like the Purple Cats in this one. Last season, Iowa State clinched a 10-win season with a 29-21 win over K-State. But in that game, the Wildcats committed eight penalties, had a 21-yard field goal blocked, allowed a safety, were a combined 4-for-17 on third down and fourth down (one of which was a fourth-down drop on fourth-and-2 at the Iowa State 35 late in the game), and was minus-2 in turnovers. K-State also outgained the Cyclones by 40 yards. Whew, that was a mouthful. Got all that? That's what it took for one of the best teams in Iowa State history to escape, at home, with the win. That was a senior-laden bunch, and maybe it had some Illinois in it with four fourth-quarter comebacks. Will the transfers at wide receiver step right in to make up for the loss of Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel? If they can't, the offense will sputter. Defensively, the Cyclones allowed 5.4 yards per carry last year, which was 126th nationally. Whether that was due to linebacker injuries or the 3-3-3 scheme, we'll see. If they can't win the early downs on defense, and allow Avery Johnson, Dylan Edwards and Gabe Ervin to look at third-and-2 all game, K-State will be hard to stop. This number has come down some, as there was even a K-State -4 briefly posted at Circa and I will now jump in. I still love you, Ames, and can't wait to bring Big Noon Kickoff there in two weeks. Jets bolster defensive line with trade for Browns' Jowon Briggs
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The New York Jets acquired defensive tackle Jowon Briggs from the Cleveland Browns in a trade Wednesday that also included draft picks. The Browns also sent a seventh-round pick in next year's NFL draft to New York for a sixth-rounder next year. Briggs had 13 tackles with two quarterback hits in six games for Cleveland last season after being a seventh-round selection. The 6-foot-1, 313-pound D-lineman had 12 career sacks and 170 tackles during a college career that began at Virginia (2019-20) and finished with three years at Cincinnati (2021-23). Briggs adds depth to a defensive line in New York that's led by three-time Pro Bowl pick Quinnen Williams and includes Micheal Clemons, Jay Tufele, Will McDonald and Rashad Weaver. Defensive tackle Byron Cowart has missed time in training camp with an ankle injury, so the addition of Briggs could help fill that void for the Jets if Cowart is sidelined for an extended time. ___ AP NFL:
