Both Christians and Jews revere these books as containing incredible wisdom and a wealth of knowledge of who God is and His purpose for humanity. But theologian and author Mark Gerson actually thinks the Torah should be in the self-help section of bookstores for its wealth of common-sense instructions on how we can have fulfilled lives. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, Gerson, entrepreneur and Jewish leader, unpacks his book 'God Was Right', explaining how social scientists today prove the Torah true; not just subjectively, but objectively. When it comes to marriage, dating, money management, etc., the Torah (the book Moses penned several millennia ago) is true to its Word.

Fire breaks out on roof of Upper East Side building

A three alarm fire sent plumes of black smoke into the sky on the Upper East Side Friday morning. It happened at a 7-story residential building on 95th Street between 2nd and 1st Avenues. The FDNY said they were called to the building just after 10 a.m. for a report of a fire on the roof of the building. More than 100 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene. Video from the scene showed firefighters on the roof of the building. Earlier video showed some flames roaring at or near the rooftop. So far there have been no reports of injuries.
