It follows a retired assassin now living in Greece, who reunites with her estranged son when he comes looking for answers.
Long-time soap fans recognised a familiar face among the cast members.
New Zealand star Alan Dale, 78, appears as supporting character Aaron Cross.
Previously, Alan played patriarch Jim Robinson, one of Neighbours' original characters.
One viewer wrote on X: "jim robinson died in neighbours and was reborn as the shady bad guy in every series in the last 2 decades."
He appeared from the Aussie's soap launch in 1985 until leaving the show in 1993.
Jim was also the father of Neighbours stalwart Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis).
The actor briefly reprised this role in 2018 by appearing in a dream to his on-screen son.
After his departure from Neighbours, Alan began working extensively in US television.
He notably had a recurring role as villain Charles Widmore in the sci-fi drama series LOST.
Alan Dale stars in The Assassin on Amazon Prime
Alan appeared in a total of 17 episodes spanning from 2006 until the show's 2010 conclusion.
As well as this, he made prominent appearances in The OC and Ugly Betty.
Earlier this year, The Sun revealed Neighbours would be coming to an end - for a second time.
It came just two years after Amazon brought the soap back to life after it was axed by Channel 5 after 37 years.
The revival started filming in 2023 and was shown on Amazon Freevee worldwide.
Neighbours stars who made it big
The long-running Aussie soap has launched the careers of some of Hollywood's biggest stars. Here are some of the Neighbours alums who went on to make it big after starring on the soap...
Kylie Minogue
Before she hit the big time with her music career, Kylie shot to fame playing Charlene Mitchell on Neighbours. Shortly after her arrival, Kylie began an on and off-screen romance with co-star Jason Donovan, who played Scott Robinson, which gained the couple an army of adoring fans.
Jason Donovan
After his stint as Scott, singer and actor Jason became an international popstar and had his pick acting of roles. He moved to the U.K., married, had children and has since starred in over a dozen West End show, most notably Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Alan Dale
New Zealand born actor Alan was one of Neighbours 12 original cast members having made his debut as Jim Robinson on the soap's first episode on 18 March 1985. As the head of the Robinson clan, widower Jim lived at Number 26 Ramsay Street with his children Paul, Julie, Scott and Lucy, and was a real anchor in the community. He stayed with the show for eight years, before his character was killed off in dramatic scenes aired in 1993 but which still reverberate through the soap to this day.
Margot Robbie
Way before she was Barbie or Harley Quinn, Margot was best known as Ramsay Street resident Donna Freedman. Her notable storylines included her marriage to Ringo Brown and becoming a young widow following his tragic death. After three years she bid farewell to the soap and Australia with a plan to make a name for herself in Hollywood which she did when she bagged the role of Naomi Lapaglia opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.
Jesse Spencer
Jesse rocked up on Ramsay street in 1994 with the rest of the Kennedy clan. He stayed for five years, literally growing up in front of the camera, but in 2000 felt it was time to spread his wings and head for Hollywood. It was certainly a smart move as he went on to bag leading roles in popular shows like House and Chicago Fire.
Russell Crowe
New Zealand-native Russell had a brief arc on Neighbours, appearing in four episodes of the soap 1987 as Kenny Larkin, the former cellmate of Street resident Henry Ramsay. The role obviously got him noticed though because he quickly went on to become a fully-fledged Hollywood A-lister, winning the Best Actor Oscar for his standout performance as Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in Gladiator.
The Sun exclusively revealed that Amazon have told Fremantle that their venture into soaps hasn't worked and they are pulling funding
A source said at the time: 'Amazon gave Fremantle two years to see if it worked but sadly they just didn't get the viewers.
'It's a really sad day especially for the cast and crew who work on the show in Melbourne.
'This really is the end of Neighbours just as it's celebrated it's 40th birthday.'

Colin Fassnidge lets slip MAJOR spoiler for new season of My Kitchen Rules during hilarious Logies interview - as he reveals 'feud' with co-host Manu Feildel is set to explode
Colin Fassnidge was feeling frisky on the Logies red carpet on Sunday. The My Kitchen Rules star told Daily Mail that he was on notice to behave himself, if his wife had her way. The 51-year-old was in such a festive mood that he couldn't help but let slip some secrets from the upcoming series of MKR. 'Want to know who wins?' he teased, before adding, 'Remember this name - The Meat Master. 'After this show airs, this guy will be a meme,' Colin added, hinting at a potential fan favourite. Colin went on to admit that he and his fellow judge, Manu Feildel, had one of their most tense seasons as their friendly 'feud' continues. 'This year on the show, we went toe-to-toe,' Colin explained. 'Get ready for it... this is why I have grey hair,' he added. Colin also admitted that he and Manu clashed with some of the new contestants, too. 'A couple of people don't really like us,' he said, cryptically. Colin said that there were further tensions between himself and Manu when the pair filmed another series - their new travel program, Off The Grid. The reality show sees the two men, who are often at odds with one another, travel around New Zealand in a caravan. 'Me and Manu, living in a caravan farting and arguing,' Colin said when describing the series. Asked if they argued frequently while travelling together, Colin admitted: 'Loads. Manu is a very grumpy man and he snores!' Off The Grid was announced as part of Channel Seven's 2025 programming lineup at the network's recent Upfronts event in Sydney. It has already aired in New Zealand where Colin explained it hit 'number one' in the TV ratings. Colin told Yahoo Lifestyle the idea for a road-trip series had been brewing for years. 'Manu had an idea to do a thing called "A Big Lap Around Australia" and no one wanted to do it, but when we were in New Zealand I said: "We should do it in a caravan". It was Manu's idea, but I made it better,' he said. The celebrity chef duo have certainly been known for trading barbs in the past and Colin added that viewers could expect a few spicy exchanges on the show. 65th TV WEEK LOGIE AWARDS WINNERS AND NOMINATIONS TV WEEK GOLD LOGIE – Most Popular Personality on Australian Television Ally Langdon - A Current Affair, The Olympic Games Paris 2024, 9Network Hamish Blake - LEGO Masters Australia, 9Network Julia Morris - I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Network 10 Lisa Millar - Back Roads, ABC News Breakfast, Muster Dogs: Where Are They Now, Muster Dogs: Collies & Kelpies, ABC Lynne McGranger - Home and Away, Seven Network - WINNER Poh Ling Yeow - MasterChef Australia, Network 10 Sonia Kruger - The Voice, Dancing With The Stars, Logies Red Carpet Show, Seven Network Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter Hamish Blake - LEGO Masters Australia, 9Network Julia Morris - I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Network 10 Ricki-Lee - Australian Idol, Seven Network Sonia Kruger - The Voice, Dancing With The Stars, Logies Red Carpet Show, Seven Network Todd Woodbridge - Tipping Point Australia, Australian Open, The Olympic Games Paris 2024, Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, 9Network - WINNER Zan Rowe - Take 5 With Zan Rowe, ABC New Year's Eve, ABC Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent Guy Montgomery - Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont Spelling Bee, ABC - WINNER Hailey Pinto - Home and Away, Seven Network Jenny Tian - Taskmaster Australia, Network 10 Kate Miller-Heidke - The Voice, Seven Network Kylah Day - Territory, Netflix Sofia Levin - MasterChef Australia, Network 10 Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter Ally Langdon - A Current Affair, 9Network - WINNER David Speers - Insiders, ABC Michael Usher - 7NEWS, 7NEWS Spotlight, Seven Network Peter Overton - 9News, 9Network Sarah Ferguson - 7.30, ABC Tara Brown - 60 Minutes, Dangerous Lies: Unmasking Belle Gibson, 9Network TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actor in a Drama Lloyd Griffith - Return To Paradise, ABC Michael Dorman - Territory, Netflix Robert Taylor - Territory, Netflix Sam Corlett - Territory, Netflix Sam Neill - The Twelve, BINGE / FOXTEL - WINNER Tai Hara - Return To Paradise, ABC TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actress in a Drama Alycia Debnam-Carey - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Anna Samson - Return To Paradise, ABC Anna Torv - Territory, Netflix Ayesha Madon - Heartbreak High, Netflix Kaitlyn Dever - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Lynne McGranger - Home and Away, Seven Network - WINNER TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Aaron Chen - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Ben Miller - Austin, ABC Clancy Brown - Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan Luke Cook - Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan Michael Theo - Austin, ABC Patrick Brammall - Colin From Accounts, BINGE / FOXTEL TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Harriet Dyer - Colin From Accounts, BINGE / FOXTEL Jenna Owen - Nugget is Dead: A Christmas Story, Stan Kitty Flanagan - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Leighton Meester - Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan Sally Phillips, Austin - ABC Vic Zerbst - Nugget is Dead: A Christmas Story, Stan TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Supporting Actor Ashley Zukerman - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Darren Gilshenan - Colin From Accounts, BINGE / FOXTEL Glenn Butcher - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Mark Coles Smith - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Matt Nable - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Sam Delich - Territory, Netflix TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Supporting Actress Aisha Dee - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Chloé Hayden - Heartbreak High, Netflix Julia Zemiro - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Marg Downey - The Newsreader, ABC Michelle Lim Davidson - The Newsreader, ABC Tilda Cobham-Hervey - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Best Drama Program Bump - Stan Heartbreak High - Netflix Return To Paradise - ABC - WINNER Territory - Netflix The Newsreader - ABC The Twelve - BINGE / FOXTEL Best Miniseries or Telemovie Apple Cider Vinegar - Netflix - WINNER Critical Incident - Stan Fake - Paramount+ How To Make Gravy - BINGE / FOXTEL Human Error - 9Network Plum - ABC Best Entertainment Program ABC New Year's Eve - ABC Australian Idol - Seven Network Countdown 50 Years On - ABC Dancing With The Stars - Seven Network The Voice - Seven Network - WINNER Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight - 9Network Best Current Affairs Program 60 Minutes - 9Network 7.30 - ABC 7NEWS Spotlight - Seven Network A Current Affair - 9Network Australian Story - ABC - WINNER Four Corners - ABC Best Scripted Comedy Program Austin - ABC Colin From Accounts - BINGE / FOXTEL Fisk - ABC - WINNER Good Cop/Bad Cop - Stan Melbourne International Comedy Festival - ABC Optics - ABC Best Comedy Entertainment Program Gruen - ABC Hard Quiz - ABC Have You Been Paying Attention?
