NYT ‘Connections' Hints And Answers For Thursday, May 15
Find the links between the words to win today's game of Connections.
Before we get to today's Connections hints and answers, here are Wednesday's:
Hey there, Connectors! I hope you're having a fantastic week.
Keep me in your thoughts. I'm in trouble. Yes, Fortnite has sunk its hooks into me again.
This happens for every few months. There will be a new addition or two that pulls me back in, I remember how fun the game is and I get deep into it again for a while. It was a combination of things this time around: a pair of recent emotes (a Chappell Roan 'Hot To Go' one from a couple of months ago, and a new one based on the dance for "Ratatata" by Babymetal and Electric Callboy) and the Star Wars-themed season.
I'm not a massive Star Wars fan, but the crossover is really well done. It's very cool to look up after a lightsaber or blaster battle to see a giant Death Star looking over the island. Plus it's really fun to do the 'Ratatata' dance after vanquishing an enemy team. There are a lot of reasons why Fortnite is one of the biggest games in the world, but the most important one is that it's an absolute blast.
Before we begin, we have a great little community on Discord, where we chat about NYT Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. Everyone who has joined has been lovely. It's a fun hangout spot, and you're more than welcome to hang out with us.

Today's NYT Connections hints and answers for Thursday, May 15 are coming right up.
Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play on the NYT's website or Games app.
You're presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like items you can click, names for research study participants or words preceded by a body part.
There's only one solution for each puzzle, and you'll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them.
Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult one. The purple group often involves wordplay.
Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you're incorrect, you'll lose a life. If you're close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you're one word away from getting it right, but you'll still need to figure out which one to swap.
If you make four mistakes, it's game over. Let's make sure that doesn't happen with the help of some hints, and, if you're really struggling, today's Connections answers. As with Wordle and other similar games, it's easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.
If you have an NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the publication's Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connections, so you can go back and play any of those that you have missed.
Aside from the first 60 games or so, you should be able to find my hints via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.
Scroll slowly! Just after the hints for each of today's Connections groups, I'll reveal what the groups are without immediately telling you which words go into them.

Not quite a perfect game today, but that's a 79th straight win. I'm getting closer to the fabled hundo streak. Here's how I fared:

"Real" came to mind as soon as I saw MADRID, so the purples were easy for me today. The Real World was a long-running MTV reality show and "real deal" is an expression referring to someone or something that is very good or totally authentic.
POWDER, GROUNDS and SLUSH seemed like they could go together, but I wasn't sure about a fourth word to go with those until I saw ICE. I figured they might be references to the type of snow that skiers use. Alas, I was one away from a group there. After stepping back for a minute, I realized than CRUST might make more sense than GROUNDS, and I had the greens.
At that point, the yellows became pretty clear, so I had to submit the blues first. I vaguely recognized them as references to an opera or play. I was on the right track, at least! Those left the yellows for the win.
The blues refer to Porgy and BESS (as best I can tell), Madame BUTTERFLY, The Magic FLUTE and The Barber of SEVILLE.
That's all there is to it for today's Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog tomorrow for hints and the solution for Friday's game if you need them.
P.S. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of Real Madrid. I prefer FC Barcelona (even though I enjoyed visiting Madrid more than I did Barcelona).
Still, Madrid have had incredible success and some absolutely sensational moments. The best of those, in my book, was in the 2002 Champions League final, when Zinedine Zidane scored this absolute stunner at Scotland's national football stadium, Hampden Park. Breathtaking technique on display here:
Speaking of which, one of the best days of my life occurred 15 years ago today at that same venue. I was there to see my team, Dundee United, beat Ross County 3-0 to win the Scottish Cup for only the second time in our history. For what it's worth, Harry Kane now has the same number of trophies in his career as one Garry Kenneth.
Anyway, here's a terrific song that's very popular among the United faithful:
Have a great day! Stay hydrated! Call someone you love!

In case you missed Monday's NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here: Welcome back, Crosswordlers, to yet another Mini Crossword guide. It's Tuesday and the weather is just fine. You really can't beat June when it comes to weather, especially here in the mountains with all the rain we've been getting. It's been just right. But before we enjoy that, let's solve this puzzle shall we? The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it's free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you'll need the app to tackle the archive. Across 1A. Displays at a trailhead — starts with the first letter M 5A. I did this twice, because apparently my brain isn't working or something. I put JAWS into 4-Down and AMISS into 3-Down and then had to backtrack and fix everything. Overall, though, if you're not plugging in the words into the wrong boxes, this wasn't a terribly challenging Mini! How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!

22 best queer pop culture moments of 2025 (so far) that prove this is going to be our year
Somehow we're already half way through 2025, and while the Trump administration and conservatives across the country have tried to ruin, well, everything for the queer community, gays are still winning. We've dominated the pop culture landscape, from Chappell Roan continuing her meteoric rise to Doechii proving she's cooler than anyone else in any room to sapphic celebs tying the knot. And the year isn't even over yet! So let's take a stroll through the first half of 2025 and check out all of the queer moments that have put smiles on our faces during these dark times. — (@) These two queer icons got married in a secret Las Vegas ceremony that made us swoon and then got married a second time, with Gabby Windey wearing a see-through wedding dress. Check out the pics, you'll thank us later. — (@) Cole Escola cemented their name in queer history by becoming the first nonbinary person to win a Tony Award in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play category for their performance in Oh, Mary! - YouTube The 67th Annual Grammy Awards was the most sapphic one yet! Cynthia Erivo sang "Fly Me to the Moon," St. Vincent hard launched her wife and daughter on stage after winning Best Rock Song, Chappell Road perfomed "Pink Pony Club" and won for Best New Artist, Doechii sang two songs and won for Best Rap Album, and Lady Gaga and Roan stood up for the trans community. It was a big night for WLWs everywhere! — (@) Jonathan Bailey has been showing off his thighs for years, but he just did it again by wearing little shorty shorts on the cover of British GQ, and the gays were salivating — and with good reason! Jeff Goldblum wasn't wrong when he said Bailey should "release the Kraken." - YouTube Onya Nurve dominated season 17 of Drag Race and finally took home the crown after her fierce lip sync to 'Abracadabra' by Lady Gaga. It was iconic! - YouTube He might not have been able to live out loud and proud in the public eye while he was alive, but Pee-wee Herman actor Paul Reubens was able to tell his own story and come out posthumously in his documentary Pee-wee as Himself. - YouTube The "My Kink is Karma" singer released the country single "The Giver," about how women are more generous in bed than men. We need a whole album! - YouTube Before you know it, we're going to find out the whole cast of Pitch Perfect is gay! - YouTube We live for Vivian Wilson's scorching takedowns of her father. - YouTube The Met Gala's red carpet is always a spectacle, but seeing queer women like Chappell Roan, Doechii, and Hunter Schafer embrace the "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" theme made us weak in the knees! See on Instagram Kristen Stewart has come a very long — and sapphic way — since her Twilight days. See on Instagram Between this and his role as the Emcee in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, the gays have been eating well this year. - YouTube We don't usually approve of reveling in someone else's misfortune, but it couldn't have happened to a (not) nicer person. — (@) Boygenius members Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker made every lesbian's dream come true this year by making it official! Meet all 40 queer players in this season's WNBA Every year there are more and more out queer folks in the WNBA! — (@) The Last of Us season two continued to prove that it is one of the queerest shows on TV. Plus, anything that pisses off conservatives makes us smile. See on Instagram This year, Vivian Wilson was on the cover of Teen Vogue and landed her dream by modeling for the campaign for her collaboration with the queer-owned clothing label Wildfang. — (@) The internet went into a frenzy when the brotherly love plotline started on White Lotus, and it ruled gay culture for a hot minute. — (@) Pedro Pascal, Troye Sivan, Tilda Swinton, Lisa Rinna, Addison Rae, Charli XCX, and more were all spotted wearing "Protect the Dolls" T-shirts, showing off their stance on trans rights. See on Instagram Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit issue always makes a splash, and this year was no different. The magazine made history when it chose Lauren Chan as the cover model, making her the first out lesbian to ever grace the cover. — (@) Calvin Klein never lets us down! Gays went feral for Cooper Koch's underwear ad, and we can see why! — (@) Whether Pedro Pascal is an ally or fam, going viral for licking a light-up rainbow pole is something we very much approve of.

Homer Simpson, Bob Belcher and More Dads May Join Fortnite for Father's Day
D'oh! The popular game Fortnite may be gearing up for its most dad-centric, delightfully weird crossover yet. According to trusted Fortnite leaker @ShiinaBR, four iconic animated TV fathers -- Bob Belcher of Bob's Burgers, Hank Hill of King of the Hill, Cleveland Brown of The Cleveland Show and Homer Simpson of The Simpsons -- are coming to the third season of the popular game as playable skins in honor of Father's Day this weekend. A representative for Epic Games, the company that owns Fortnite, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. While Epic Games hasn't officially confirmed the lineup, evidence is piling up. Three of the four skins have already been spotted in the game files and a connection with The Simpsons has been teased through official channels, adding more fuel to the hype. Fans first speculated about a King of the Hill collaboration in May after "Propane Specialist" assets referencing Arlen, Texas, were found in-game. Read more: Tell Ya What, Hulu's King of the Hill Reboot Has a Clip and Release Date It's a clever twist on Fortnite's usual pop culture mashups, tapping into animated comedy royalty to celebrate fatherhood in all its awkward, endearing, burger-flipping, beer-drinking glory.
