NFL fans left furious as 'horrible' Ticketmaster makes shocking decision over London ticket sale 's***show'

Daily Maila day ago

NFL fans are furious with Ticketmaster after the rollout of tickets for the London-based league games for this season were described as 'horrible' and a 's***show' by those waiting in the online queue.
Ticketmaster has had issues with scalpers swooping in to buy tickets, with only the intention of reselling them and massively marking up the price, for NFL games before, as well as problems with the release of the recent stadium tours of Taylor Swift and Beyonce.
The NFL had more than 250,000 people in the queue at its highest and paused the sale of tickets for more than an hour.
'Tickets for NFL London Games are still available and your spot in the queue is secure,' a representative for Ticketmaster said in a social-media statement. 'Our tech teams spotted bad actors and we are working to keep them out so have paused the queue. As soon as this is done, we will keep fans moving through the queues. Thank you for your patience.'
Yet, a few fans spotted that while the pause was happening, the number of tickets on resale websites still increased.
True gridiron fans based in England and those hoping to make the journey to Wembley Stadium to see the action have taken their frustrations at the NFL out on social media.
'Getting those NFL London tickets today was not a good experience. Ticketmaster and the NFL need to do better. It's such a drama every single year to get tickets. It's just issue after issue,' one fan said.
'How do @TicketmasterUK always manage to screw up with every ticket release in the UK?' a second fan said. 'NFL London ticket queue paused for nearly an hour now and resellers still able to get through, absolute joke. Need to plan a trip to USA at this point would work out cheaper.'
'Reading all of the posts about the NFL London tickets make me appreciate not even getting involved. Went to a game a few years back but lately Ticketmaster has gotten even worse. An absolutely horrible company and horrible experience every time something remotely popular is on,' a third stated.
'Online queue for NFL London tickets on @TicketmasterCS is 'paused'... but the number of tickets on resale sites is going up... great. Nice one Ticketmaster,' a fourth continued.
'A friend of mine suggested they should just do a ballot for NFL international games like say tickets for the open in the golf. You apply and if you a lucky enough to get a code to buy a couple of tickets , you are lucky enough. The NFL London/ Ticketmaster s***show has to stop.
A collection of social-media messages about the release of NFL tickets for the London games
The NFL's global reach expanded well beyond Wembley Stadium this year, holding games in Dublin, Brazil, Berlin, and Madrid as well.
Tickets for the game in Spain do not go on sale for more than another month, with plenty of lessons to be learned for those Commanders and Dolphins fans wanting to make the trip to Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
The London matchups for this upcoming season see the Minnesota Vikings play the Cleveland Browns, the Denver Broncos taking on the New York Jets, and the Jacksonville Jaguars continuing their London residency against the Los Angeles Rams.

NFL announcer Greg Olsen makes true feelings on Tom Brady clear after legend stole his Fox Sports job

NFL broadcaster Greg Olsen has revealed his true feelings for Tom Brady after the legend replaced him at Fox's top football color commentator - they're 'very good friends'. The longtime Patriot and Buccaneer replaced the former Panthers tight end to become part of the No 1 pair for the network in the broadcast booth. Olsen was demoted to the No 2 crew by a rookie commentator, with his feelings on the move staying low-key until now. 'I always make sure I'm very clear where my personal aspirations to continue to ascend in this industry and to get back calling those games are completely independent of Tom and I,' Olsen said on 'Pardon My Take'. 'We've hung out, personally. We talk on the phone, we keep in touch, he sent a cool video for my youth football team… we talk about raising teenage daughters, we've gone to play golf together, we hung out at the Bahamas at a little retreat. We've gotten to be very good friends on a very personal level since he's joined Fox.' Olsen still has a desire to be part of a top broadcast duo in the NFL and appears to see every call as an opportunity. Brady signed a 10-year, $375million contract with Fox as he transitioned from field to booth 'There's this idea that there's this personal animosity and competition. There's not,' Olsen continued. 'My relationship with Tom and Fox and Joe Davis and Burkhardt and all my people at Fox couldn't be better.' 'On the other parallel line to that, yes, I want to ascend in the industry, and I'm sure Joe Davis wants to call Super Bowls as well, that doesn't mean he doesn't like Burkhardt. Any motivated guy, you want to be the best at what you do. That is not a knock on the people that are ahead of you.' Brady signed a 10-year, $375million contract with Fox, as the football legend transitioned from the field to the broadcast booth. Last month, Brady was on the receiving end of as major snub from the Emmys, with him not being nominated in the 'Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst' category, while watching Olsen get the nod. Olsen was nominated in the category for the fourth straight year alongside Troy Aikman, longtime Brady rival Peyton Manning, Bill Raftery, and John Smoltz.

Rob Beckett: ‘I've done a lot of therapy… I had incredibly low self-worth'

How do famous names spend their precious downtime? In our weekly My Saturday column, celebrities reveal their weekend virtues and vices. This week: Rob Beckett 6am Weekends are all about the kids and are planned like a military operation. My wife Lou does more in the week than me, so I tend to take the lead on a Saturday. The kids [two girls, nine and seven] come in and are allowed to play on their iPads until 7.30. We've also trained them to let the whippets Fred and George out for a wee. We have a little Nespresso machine in the bedroom, so we'll treat ourselves to a coffee. 8.30am I take the girls to their clubs – gymnastics, football or drama. If it's football, I'll stay and watch. I'm very laid-back, but inside I'm screaming, 'There's a bit of space there, get to it' – but I don't say it out loud. I focus my energy on slagging off other parents I don't like with parents I do like. If it's not football, I'll go for a walk or to Tom Allen's for a cup of tea. 11am After the clubs we'll go to the local café. It's one level up from a greasy spoon but one level down from Gail's. 12.30pm I take the kids swimming, or we do admin jobs. Last Saturday I had to collect some rupees as I'm going to India to film Rob & Romesh Vs Bollywood. 3pm I used to be terrible at sitting still, but I've got much better at meditating, breathing and calming myself down. After 37 years of having only negative voices in my head, it's felt quite alien to have some positive ones in there, but it's a huge relief. 4pm I'll spend some time reflecting on being in a better space. I've done a lot of therapy, and the short story is I had incredibly low self-worth for a number of reasons, and I replaced that lack with the reaction of a crowd, which made me feel important and special and powerful – but then when I didn't do well, it made me feel weak, useless and rubbish, so my life was very up and down. I was running on a poverty mindset, but I've now realised that I have self-worth within me as opposed to the bloke who goes out and tells a few jokes. 5.30pm The day will be totally reconfigured if there's a good football game on. I like to get all my good parenting done before 5.30 so I can watch that game. If Arsenal score, I'll do a little fist pump. If Tottenham or West Ham concede, I'll get on WhatsApp to wind everyone up. 7pm Food is very fluid at the weekend so we might prepare a Sunday roast on a Saturday evening, but if friends are coming round, I can't be bothered to make it a big deal, so we'll get a takeaway. I'm out a lot during the week so I'm happy for Lou to go to the theatre in the West End on a Saturday night and I love just being at home with the kids. We'll watch Gladiators and The Masked Singer. 8.30pm The kids will have a bath then we play a game called Trap, where I lie on top of them, and I have to hold them both before they escape. It's like low-grade jujitsu. 9.30pm If Lou's at home, we'll watch a bit of Below Deck or The Real Housewives and have a glass of red wine. If not, I'll settle in and watch sport on my own – football, boxing, UFC, whatever's on. 11.30pm I can't sleep until Lou gets home. I feel like a bit of a protective dad. We track each other's phones so when I see she's approaching Orpington station I'll book a cab for her. I'm terrible at getting to sleep so I'll either read a comedy biography – I'm reading Judd Apatow's book – or a book on stoicism before I finally conk out.
