Initiatives and programmes to develop and train national talent in the healthcare sector
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to investing in local talent employed across all sectors. His Highness stated that this is achieved through the launch of various strategic initiatives which will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality and long-term sustainability of healthcare services, recognising the sector as a fundamental pillar in Bahrain's continued development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
During the meeting, His Highness also issued directives to strengthen collaboration between Tamkeen and the Supreme Council of Health and launch a new support package aimed at developing and training national talent within the healthcare sector. This includes providing support for more than 750 Bahrainis, including doctors and nurses, to further improve capabilities and strengthen the sector's workforce.
His Highness emphasised that empowering national talent across all sectors remains a strategic priority, with dedicated resources and concerted efforts to help achieve this objective. His Highness reiterated the ongoing commitment to developing robust training and employment pathways that support the professional growth of Bahraini citizens and position them as the leading candidates in the labour market. In addition to advancing individual growth, this initiative serves as a catalyst for national progress and economic prosperity.
For his part, His Excellency Lieutenant General Doctor Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, expressed his appreciation for the royal support of Bahrain's healthcare sector through the unwavering backing it receives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
His Excellency also commended the contributions of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in providing comprehensive support that enhances the training and development of national talent across different sectors, including healthcare. These efforts align closely with the Supreme Council of Health's ongoing efforts to foster a supportive healthcare environment, encourage innovation, and implement strategic initiatives that strengthen service efficiency, and ensure the sustainability of resources.
Her Excellency Dr Jaleela bint Alsayed Jawad the Minister of Health, His Excellency Mr. Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Tamkeen Chief Executive, along with a number of officials, also attended the meeting.

Workplaces Ordered to Station First-Aid Trained Staff
TDT | Manama First-aid trained staff must now be present at every Bahraini workplace under new Health Ministry rules aimed at preventing injuries from becoming fatal. The decision, published in the latest edition of the Official Gazette, lays out new requirements for employers across the private sector. Each site must be ready to deal with medical emergencies, and help must be called at once if someone is badly hurt or suddenly falls ill at work. Names One trained person is needed for every 20 workers, and their names must be kept in a log on site. They must hold a recognised certificate showing they've completed at least one course in first aid. Supplies Another employee must be named to check supplies and deal with inspectors when needed. First-Aid Kits Workplaces must keep first-aid boxes stocked with items listed in a table attached to the ministerial order. These kits must be easy to find and checked regularly to ensure everything is usable. One box is needed for every 100 workers or fewer. Emergencies Employers must also put together a plan for emergencies. This should include ambulance contacts, maps showing the nearest clinic, and a layout of exits. The order forms part of Ministerial Decision No. 16 of 2025, signed by Health Minister Her Excellency Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan. It replaces a 1976 rule on what first-aid boxes should contain. Anyone breaching the new rules may face punishment under Article 192 of the 2012 Labour Law or Article 129 of the Public Health Law, depending on the offence. The decision takes effect the day after it appears in the Gazette.

MP Demands Doctor Training : Lawmakers rally behind graduates
Training obligation urged MP Suroor expressed support for a proposal requiring private healthcare providers to accommodate and train medical graduates as a condition for receiving Labour Fund (Tamkeen) support. Liability law in focus Discussions also touched on the pending Medical Liability Law. Dr. Al Derazi noted that the Society had submitted a comprehensive proposal that balances the rights of patients and practitioners, with inputs gathered from government and private stakeholders. The two leaders concluded the meeting at the association's Juffair headquarters with a commitment to continue collaborating on legislation, workforce integration, and community health awareness.
