Kieran Tierney reacts to 'emotional' Celtic ovation as Hayato Inamura earns incredible reaction
Emotional Kieran Tierney has responded to the warm reception he received from Celtic fans on his return to Parkhead.
The left-back has been a key part of Brendan Rodgers pre-season plans and supporters saw a glimpse of his best form against Sporting CP on Wednesday night.
But six years on from his £25million move to Arsenal he was back on the pitch at Celtic Park after an injury-plagued spell in North London.
Tierney replaced Hayato Inamura in the second half of the clash with Newcastle United to warm reception from the Hoops' diehards as the Scottish Premiership champions ran out 4-0 winners.
Speaking to Celtic TV after the final whistle about the homecoming reception, the club hero said: "Aw, whit man... amazing.
"I didn't know what to expect. But what a feeling, it was quite emotional actually running on to the park like that. But amazing, a great day for me."
He followed it up on his Instagram commenting with an image of the moment he replaced Inamura saying: "Wow! What a feeling. Thank you so much, that was so special."
But the man who he replaced during the drubbing of the Premier League side is also winning over the punters after his arrival from Albirex Niigata earlier this summer.
Having initially been expected to be on the fringes of the squad, 23-year-old Inamura was handed a start against Eddie Howe's Magpies.
Posting to X, one fan said: "I know it's pre season but as far as tests go that's a good judge. Fantastic start for Inamura."
Another added: "For a centre half who was signed from a team near the bottom of the J-League to get played at left back in the last couple of games, Inamura has settled in nicely so far." A diehard chimed in: "Liking Inamura composure on the ball"

Alexander Isak's agent breaks silence on Newcastle star's future amid Liverpool interest - after striker misses Magpies' first pre-season friendly
Newcastle striker Alexander Isak's agent has opened up on the striker's future amid interest from Liverpool. The Premier League champions are ready to break the British transfer record to sign Isak, despite already spending £116m on Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer. The 25-year-old will cost in advance of £125m and the Reds will move if they receive encouragement from Newcastle. However, the Magpies have made it clear that he is not for sale - prompting Liverpool to shift their focus to Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike in a potential £82million move. Isak's agent has now spoken out on the player's future in an interview with Saudi Arabian media - with the star also attracting interest from clubs in the Gulf state. 'We are indeed studying and analysing all options, and we may be close to finalising the next step for the player,' Gonzalo Gaitan told Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah. 'Without revealing any details regarding whether Isak will transfer or stay with Newcastle.' Isak was left out of Newcastle's 4-0 pre-season defeat to Celtic, with manager Eddie Howe later admitting the decision was due to ongoing speculation over the striker's future. Howe said speaking after the friendly match: 'I chose to send him home. 'The last thing Alex wants if he is not playing is to be sat in the stand and under that scrutiny, then if he wasn't going to play today, we mutually agreed he shouldn't be here. 'It was my decision. He travelled back to Glasgow with us, but I decided to send him home due to the speculation around him. Both [Joelinton and Isak] are fit but not ready to play. Alex has trained and is fine but we didn't want to take the risk with him. 'Yes, I've had discussions with him, but that's not abnormal,' he added. 'I respect a player's career and how short it is. Alex has been really good, he's trained really well and I realise there'll be noise around him. 'We have a few of those players who are irreplaceable. Your top players are so hard to find, so hard to recruit and so hard to develop. So when you have them, you need to treasure them. Of course we're desperate to keep him as part of our team. 'I think it's difficult for me to ever give 100 per cent clarity on any player, I'd never do that. 'All I can say is Alex is happy at Newcastle, he loves the players, the staff, the team. I've never had any issue with him and I'm confident he's going to be here at the start of the season.' Isak has established hismelf as one of the Premier League's best strikers since joining from Real Sociedad in 2022. He has scored 62 goals in 109 appearances for Newcastle across all competitions - including one in the Carabao Cup final win over Liverpool last season.

Celtic and Rangers have both been credited with an interest in an emerging 18-year-old Serbian youth international. Andrej Bacanin has risen to prominence in his homeland with Super League side FK Cukaricki, with the defensive midfielder amassing 17 appearances as he made his senior breakthrough last season. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The club's sporting director, Vladimir Matijasevic, has revealed that he expects the player to depart "in the next 10 days" after fielding interest from the Glasgow rivals as well as Ajax and Udinese. Celtic and Rangers have both been credited with an interest in Andrej Bacanin | Getty Images Bacanin was left out of Cukaricki line-up for their league opener against Napretka on Saturday amid the transfer speculation. The player is valued at around €1.2million, according to football data website FotMob, but a bidding war could see the fee rise. Matijasevic told the Cukaricki website: 'There is a lot of interest in our young players, and currently the focus is on the transfer of Andrej Bačanin. 'He attracted the attention of numerous clubs by playing for our team last season but also for the Serbian national team at his age. We had calls from the Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers, Ajax, Udinese, and some other teams are interested. I expect that this will be another big outgoing transfer of Cukaricki, which would cover the budget of our club.' Cukaricki have already broken their outgoing transfer record this summer after selling another 18-year-old prospect, striker Mihajlo Cvetković, to Anderlecht for €3.2m.
