The Sadafal Foundation, one of India's largest and oldest organisations dedicated to disseminating spiritual knowledge, is celebrating its 15th anniversary with an engaging session on the Power of the Mind, featuring an ancient meditation led by Sant Naam Deo Ji Maharaj from India.
The foundation known as 'Sadguru Shri Sadafal Deo Vihangam Yoga Sansthan,' has been active in South Africa for over a decade.
The ancient meditation will also include devotional songs and conclude with a Gala Dinner at Kendra Hall on 17 May 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
For the past three decades, Sant Naam Deo Ji Maharaj (Naam Deo) has been at the core of founding a society built on the highest principles of human consciousness.
Through leading the social wing of Sadguru Sadafal Deo Vihangam Yoga Sansthan (SSDVYS), Naam Deo has been working in the villages of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh, where millions of people have benefited from the real essence of 'Yog'.
Naam Deo ji is also the founder of Abhyas School of Yoga. Through this school, he imparts the universal knowledge of yoga's real essence. He says that Yoga cannot be restricted to just physical postures, kriyas, and mudras.
The stream of 'Yog' extends much beyond the boundaries of present-day yoga. He says the message that the 'real essence' of Yog wants to provide and help you with is 'how you could find yourself and do what is needed'.
Since 2013, SSDVYS has had special consultative status with UN-ECOSOC, and Naam Deo is its chief Program Coordinator. SSDVYS is also recognised by UN-Habitat for its initiatives towards establishing world peace.
Naam Deo travels extensively around the world, meeting people directly. He helps every individual who comes up to him, unwinding their constructs and uplifting them.
Only recently in 2022, Naam Deo travelled 42 days in the USA, meeting people in old-age homes and other relief and welfare organisations engaged in the service of humanity.
Naam Deo is travelling to Africa, the UK, the USA, and Canada from May 2025 to September 2025 to preach and impart 'Acceptance through diversity' through a series of free interactive sessions and workshops open to people of all classes, creeds, genders, colours, nationalities, etc.
Vihangam Yoga is also known as Devyan Marg / Meen Maarg / Madhu Vidya /Para Vidya or Brahmavidya. It was the only form of Bhakti known to the sages.
With the passage of time, this became fragmented, and the various fragments appeared in different forms as complete yoga practices. Some of these yoga practices are Raj Yoga, Hath Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Laya Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Tantra Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga, etc. Vihangam Yoga thus happens to be the mother of all yoga practices.
This is an esoteric Metaphysical Science of Consciousness that is to be learnt from and practised under the guidance of Sadguru.

Cape Town celebrates International Day of Yoga with a focus on wellness

Speaking ahead of the Yoga event, Consul General of India, Ruby Jaspreet reflected on the origins and global relevance of the day. Cape Town will once again host a vibrant celebration of the International Day of Yoga on Saturday, with the Consulate General of India organising an event at the scenic Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. The 2025 celebration, themed 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health', marks the 11th edition of the global event, which continues to grow in scale and significance. Speaking ahead of the occasion, Consul General of India, Ruby Jaspreet reflected on the origins and global relevance of the day. 'The idea for an International Day of Yoga was proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014 and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly with the highest number of co-sponsors ever—more than 175,' she said. June 21, the summer solstice and longest day in the Northern Hemisphere, was chosen for its spiritual and seasonal symbolism. Yoga, derived from the Sanskrit word meaning 'union,' is deeply rooted in India's ancient traditions, explained Jaspreet. 'It's a timeless practice that brings harmony between body and mind, and between humans and nature. In India, we see it as a holistic approach to wellness and spiritual growth, one that promotes the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—'the world is one family'.'
