Lars von Trier threw water at Bryce Dallas Howard and insulted her father
The 'Jurassic World' actress worked with the director on 2005 film 'Manderlay' and she revealed her first meeting with the moviemaker on the set in Norway came as a bit of a shock as she was subjected to a barrage of insults and a jibe about her director dad Ron Howard.
Bryce told The Times newspaper: "He started insulting me: 'Your father's a terrible filmmaker.' I went: 'Lars, what are you trying to see?' and he said: 'Your angry face. I don't know what it looks like'."
She went on to reveal von Trier then threw a glass of water in her face and Bryce responded by doing the same to him.
The actress added: "So I threw a glass of water in his face. He goes: 'Why did you do that?' and got up and left. That was my introduction to the Lars von Trier experience."
However, Bryce is adamant she wasn't upset by the encounter. She explained: "It wasn't like I went to my room and cried or anything. I was sort of delighted by it."
Bryce's dad started as an actor before moving behind the camera and she hopes to do more directing in the future, but she will never give up acting completely like he did.
She added: "I don't want to let go of acting as my dad has done. That would be really heartbreaking because I learn so much being on a set. I have so much fun.'
Bryce is close to her filmmaker father and he recently shared a sweet tribute to her on Instagram to mark her 44th birthday earlier this year - declaring she has far exceeded the family's expectations with her huge success in the movie business.
Ron wrote: "Happy Birthday, Daughter! You've always made your mom and me happy and incredibly proud.
"But the scope of what you've achieved with your family and career and the future you are building exceeds our wildest hopes from back when you were this adorable kid we loved so much."
It came just a day after Bryce shared her own tribute to her dad on his birthday, writing in a post on Instagram: "I love you so much Dad, more than words can say."

Rachel Brosnahan's husband reacts to romance speculation about her and Superman co-star David Corenswet
Messy Metropolis. Rachel Brosnahan's husband, Jason Ralph, has created a stir online by 'liking' an Instagram comment about his wife's relationship with her Superman co-star David Corenswet. The fan comment, which was recently made under Ralph's latest Instagram post from June, accused Brosnahan, 35, of having an affair with Corenswet, 32. 'It's genuinely sad to see your career being tucked out to be remembered as a cuckold because your wife couldn't handle herself with her co-actor,' the comment read, per Us Weekly. 'Like bro. let's have some self love and stand up for yourself man, leave her to be with him if she wants that much at the end of the day.' After 'liking' the message, Ralph turned off the comments on his posts. However, a fan posted a screenshot of the comment on X, where Ralph got a mixed reaction from the online community. 'Married to Rachel, with a fairly steady career, and this is how you choose to spend your time online,' one person wrote. 'The fact that he's also an actor makes this even weirder,' another fan said. 'Liking this comment 'as a joke' comes off SO weird,' a different user responded. But other fans defended Ralph for 'liking' the comment. 'Oh he's a 100% mocking that person,' an X user insisted. 'That's the kind of non ego you have to have to be a good spouse. If he's better, then have at it. I'm not sure why people would be angry?' someone else asked. The Post has reached out to Brosnahan and Ralph's reps for comment. The speculation surrounding Brosnahan and Corenswet appears to be stemming from a viral video, in which they continued kissing after the director yelled cut. Brosnahan and Ralph met in 2013 while filming the indie movie I'm Obsessed With You: But You've Got To Leave Me Alone. She confirmed they tied the knot in 2019, with a source alleging they secretly wed in 2018. Ralph notably worked with his wife in the final two seasons of her hit Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. In an interview with People in 2019, Brosnahan spoke about keeping her marriage to Ralph private 'Jason and I also noticed early on that, while we are both the leads of successful television series, he has almost never been asked about our relationship while I have been asked on almost every red carpet I have walked in the last two years,' she said. 'We both find this double standard problematic and frustrating and opted to redirect those conversations to our work.' Corenswet, for his part, has been married to Julia Warner since 2023. The couple has one daughter, born in 2024.

David Beckham slides into Aussie influencer Laura Henshaw's Instagram DMs
Wellness influencer Laura Henshaw has sent social media into a frenzy after revealing that football legend David Beckham once 'slid into her DMs.' The surprising admission came during a rapid-fire segment on the KIC podcast, co-hosted with best friend Steph Claire Smith. Henshaw, who is currently expecting her first child with husband Dalton, gave little away at first, keeping the revelation brief and offering no immediate details about what prompted Beckham to reach out. When pressed by her producer, Henshaw confirmed, 'David Beckham,' and backed it up by providing a glimpse, which was censored, of the Instagram messages she had exchanged with the soccer superstar. The short video, uploaded to the podcast's Instagram, left fans begging for the full story, with one writing: 'We NEED the Beckham tea!!!' Another fan wrote: 'Now I'm curious what did Beckham say to Laura!' 'Podcast on David Beckham please Laurs,' said another. While others speculated about the nature of the contact. While Henshaw chose to keep the specifics hidden, those familiar with her background quickly pointed out that she and Beckham both had business ties with the same health and wellness brand, AIA Vitality. Posted alongside a video of a remote call in June 2021, AIA Vitality said: 'How does AIA Global Ambassador David Beckham live a healthier, longer and better life? Join our CEO Damien Mu and AIA Vitality Ambassadors Shane Crawford, Laura Henshaw and Bec Judd as they discuss their go-to health tips for 2021. You won't want to miss it'. Beckham commented on the Facebook post at the time: 'It was great catching up with my AIA family on how we can all make little changes for healthier life,' he said. David Beckham, a global ambassador for the company, and Henshaw, with her work on the Australian fitness app Kic, crossed paths professionally. Still, for many followers, the mystery of Beckham's private messages, and Henshaw's playful refusal to spill all the tea, continues to capture imaginations. As one fan summed it up: 'Story time on old mate Dave ploise.'
