Nagpur: It was an evening soaked in music, memories, and magic as Parvathi Meenakshi, the young singing sensation who rose to national fame through TV show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa', made her much-awaited public performance debut in her hometown of Nagpur.
Hosted by the Nagpur Cultural Society (NCS), the concert was held at a new venue, a hall at Airport South Metro Station in the city.
The moment that melted every heart in the auditorium came when Dr Ajay Sood, ophthalmologist and accomplished singer himself, invited veteran music guru Unnikrishnan Nair on stage during a brief interlude. Nair, under whose tutelage Parvathi trained since she was just 8, was visibly emotional.
"To see the little girl who once shyly sang in front of me now performing on national platforms, in movies, and in front of global audiences, it's a proud moment," he said.
Reminiscing about their early days, Nair recalled a special duet they once performed, 'Jab Deep Jale Aana'. The audience spontaneously requested an encore. What followed was pure magic: Nair began with his signature Yesudas-style rendition, and Parvathi joined in halfway, her voice brimming with maturity and soul.
