T-Mobile, RAM, Liquid Death Awarded Most Engaging Super Bowl LIX Ads
EDO, the TV outcomes company, today released its annual ranking of all national Super Bowl LIX ads, awarding brands like T-Mobile, RAM, and Liquid Death with the most engaging spots of the night. For a decade, EDO has scored every Super Bowl ad from pre-kick to post-game based on how effective each spot is at driving consumer behaviors — such as website visits and brand searches — immediately after the airing.
'This year's Super Bowl advertisers were more diverse than in years past, proving that relevance, authenticity, and differentiation continue to be the way to win on advertising's biggest stage,' said Kevin Krim, President & CEO of EDO. 'With a wide range of brand categories represented in our top 10, the results show that the investment was well worth it for products that aligned with consumer priorities. Beyond game-day impact, we will continue to see the lasting halo effect of Super Bowl ads, driving sustained engagement and business outcomes well past the final whistle.'
MOST ENGAGING SUPER BOWL LIX ADS
According to EDO's predictive TV outcomes data, the top 10 Super Bowl ads that drove the greatest consumer engagement include:
T-Mobile Wireless, You're Connected: 12.6x as much engagement as the median Super Bowl LIX ad
RAM, Drive Your Own Story ft. Glen Powell: 8.5x as much engagement
Liquid Death, It's Safe for Work: 8.0x as much engagement
Universal Pictures, First Dragon Ride: 7.8x as much engagement
Hims & Hers, Sick of the System: 7.7x as much engagement
He Gets Us, What is Greatness?: 6.8x as much engagement
Cirkul, You Got Cirkul: 6.6x as much engagement
Jeep, Freedom ft. Harrison Ford: 6.4x as much engagement
Poppi, Soda Thoughts ft. Jake Shane, Alix Earle, Rob Rausch: 5.5x as much engagement
Universal Pictures' Jurassic World Rebirth, A New Era: 5.0x as much engagement
'Consumer priorities may be evolving, but audiences continue to gravitate toward practicality and real-world utility over novelty,' said Laura Grover, SVP, Head of Client Solutions, EDO. 'This year's Super Bowl made that clear—practical tech outperformed generative AI, health-conscious messaging resonated more than ever, and in auto, a single brand dominated by seizing the lane left open by competitors. These trends reinforce that brands can win in the Big Game when they align with real consumer value while taking bold, strategic positions. The Super Bowl isn't just a branding exercise—it's one of the most powerful advertising moments of the year to move the needle on business performance.'
BIG GAME TRENDS
Super Bowl LIX may have been a blowout, but brands kept up the entertainment during ad breaks. Whether they were introducing game-changing new technologies, tugging at our heartstrings with inspiring stories, or offering new ways to stay healthy, advertisers left it all on the field to make an impact on our industry's biggest stage.
Key ad trends from this year's Big Game lineup include:
Viewers Choose Practical Tech Over GenAI: Whether they were advertising buzzy new products (like Google Pixel, OpenAI, Salesforce) or merely theorizing about them (Coca-Cola), ads featuring generative AI were less effective than the average Super Bowl ad at delivering consumer engagement. Instead, viewers were captivated by the very tangible offer of free, satellite-powered wireless service powered by Starlink and T-Mobile — an exciting partnership that drove greater engagement than any other Super Bowl LIX ad and 1,163% as much impact as the average spot.
Health-Curious Ads Drive Massive Engagement: Throughout the night, consumers demonstrated a keen intent to be healthier, whether that meant losing weight with the new GLP-1 drugs offered by Hims & Hers or enjoying low-calorie drink choices from the likes of Poppi and Cirkul. Flavored sparkling and still water brand Liquid Death was the most impactful of the group, which was 704% more effective than the average Super Bowl LIX ad.
Stellantis Claims Auto Spotlight After Rivals Back Out: Ads from auto brands are usually a Super Bowl staple, but they were conspicuously absent this year. With the spotlight all to themselves, Stellantis-owned brands Jeep and RAM triumphed. Both placed ads in our top 10 for TV outcomes, with RAM's Glen Powell-as-Goldilocks spot generating 748% more engagement than the average Super Bowl ad and Jeep's Harrison Ford-led ode to freedom outperforming the benchmark by 537%.
Women's Empowerment Inspires Consumers to Act: A number of ads won the Big Game by celebrating women's empowerment, and consumers were responsive. Nike returned to the Super Bowl for the first time in 27 years with a who's who of women athletes and a voice-over from recent Grammy winner Doechii. Lay's told an inspiring story of a young girl farming potatoes for its chips. And Novartis shed light on the need for greater awareness of breast cancer. All three outperformed the average Super Bowl advertiser, led by Lay's ad, which was 33% more effective than the benchmark.

How we rank the ads
For the 10th consecutive year, EDO has scored every Big Game ad based on incremental online engagement for an advertised brand or product immediately following an individual ad's airing. Each Super Bowl ad performance is indexed to the median-performing in-game spot such that the median airing is indexed at 100. Data in this release is preliminary and subject to slight adjustments based on EDO's final Super Bowl analysis.

Saquon Barkley says his eventual retirement will probably be 'out of nowhere'
Saquon Barkley says his eventual retirement will probably be 'out of nowhere' Show Caption Hide Caption Five NFL games we can't wait to watch in the 2025 season The NFL schedule for the 2025-2026 season has been released. Here are a few games on our must-watch list. Saquon Barkley isn't hanging up his cleats yet, but don't expect to have a warning before he does. The Philadelphia Eagles running back dazzled during his first season in the City of Brotherly Love, playing a big role in delivering the second Super Bowl victory in franchise history. During the June 4th episode of the "Green Light with Chris Long" podcast, Barkley made a different headline this time after he was asked about retirement. The former Eagles defensive end, Long, posed the question about how the star running back will one day walk away from the game. "I'll probably be one of those guys that it'll be out of nowhere," Barkley said. "I'll probably just wake up one day, whether it's next year or two years or four years, and just be like, 'Yeah, it's over.'" While it seems unlikely that retirement could come in the near future for Barkley, it could sound alarms in Philadelphia given the recent run of players calling it an early career. Most recently, it was 29-year-old Frank Ragnow that opted for retirement. The now-former Detroit Lions center was arguably the best in the sport at his position, but said he plans to prioritize is health now. In terms of passion for the game, however, Barkley doesn't envision losing that anytime soon. "I don't think I will ever lose that passion," Barkley said. "I'm just a competitor." He added that the competitive nature will always be there, but likened his eventual retirement to Barry Sanders, who shockingly stepped away from the game after just 10 seasons. The Lions Hall of Fame running back retired at age 30. "One of my favorite players of all time, probably my favorite player of all time, is Barry Sanders, so probably similar to that," Barkley said. "Maybe one day it'll be out of nowhere. I'll probably be ballin' and just be like, yeah, call it quits." Barkley has certainly achieved plenty in his career to this point. He has won a Super Bowl and was named an All-Pro, the Offensive Rookie of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and selected to the Pro Bowl three times. In 2024, he was just 101 yards away from setting the NFL's all-time single season rushing record. Despite that lengthy list of accomplishments, Barkley is still just 28 and only has seven seasons under his belt. If Barkley is using Sanders as a reference, that means he feels he still has some unfinished business – even if he's already checked off most of the boxes.

Saquon Barkley joins Brian Dawkins and David Akers in Madden's '99 club'
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley will be the cover athlete for the latest installment in the Madden franchise. Along with gracing the front of this year's game, he's also received another prestigious honor. Throughout the history of Madden, being given a 99 overall is a notable feat that only a handful of players can say they've received. Coming off the best year of his NFL career, Barkley has now broken through this threshold. Amid the cover announcement, the people from Madden also gifted him a customized necklace to welcome him to the "99 Club." With this achievement, Barkley joins an exclusive group of players in Eagles history. He is now the third player to be given a 99 overall. The first Eagle to reach this mark was Brian Dawkins in 2004. Two years later, kicker David Akers also joined the "99 Club." Prior to Barkley, Lane Johnson was the most recent Eagles player to come close, reaching a 98 overall in 2024. After failing to come to an agreement on a new contract with the New York Giants, Barkley opted to depart from the team that drafted him to join the Eagles. This move yielded huge dividends, as his presence helped get the title contenders over the hump. NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - FEBRUARY 09: Saquon Barkley #26 of the Philadelphia Eagles celebrates with teammates on the sideline in the fourth quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome... NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - FEBRUARY 09: Saquon Barkley #26 of the Philadelphia Eagles celebrates with teammates on the sideline in the fourth quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome on February 09, 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana. MoreIn his first season with Philly, Barkley came just shy of history by rushing for 2,005 yards in the regular season. He did so in just 16 games, as the team opted to sit him in Week 17 in preparation for the playoffs. Not only were Barkley's rushing yards a career-high, but he also posted his highest yards from scrimmage for a season (2,283). Having a strong backfield threat in Barkley gave the Eagles' offense a dynamic it hasn't had in some time, and made them much harder to contain week-to-week. Led by the star back's historic season, Philly carried this momentum all the way to their second Super Bowl win in franchise history. Landing the cover and a 99 overall are well-deserved honors for Barkley, but now the Eagles star has a tough challenge ahead. Many view landing on the front of the game as a curse due to multiple players falling off afterward. Seeing that the Eagles are poised to remain in the title hunt this season, they'll need Barkley to continue playing at a high level. Barkley set the bar high last year with a dominant first season with the Eagles. Replicating his 2024 campaign is a tall task, but with most of the team's core returning, all the pieces are in place for him to once again be a focal point of the offense.

Oilers, Connor McDavid are sportsbook liabilities in the Stanley Cup Final
Oilers, Connor McDavid are sportsbook liabilities in the Stanley Cup Final Welcome to Prince's Picks, a collection of betting news, analysis and opinions from BetFTW senior writer Prince J. Grimes. As the Stanley Cup Final gets set to begin tonight, it may feel like everyone outside of Florida is pulling for Connor McDavid to finally win his first cup and cement his legacy as one of the greatest players ever. However, don't count the sportsbook among those pulling for McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. It's not simply that Edmonton is a slim favorite to win the series, with 54% of tickets at BetMGM and 59% of money on an Oilers victory. It's also that an Oilers win would likely strengthen McDavid's case to win the Conn Smythe Trophy, which he's already a +100 favorite to win. Last week, McDavid was the second-biggest liability to win the award at BetMGM. With Mikko Rantanen now out of the race, the book is completely against McDavid -- though it doesn't want to see Florida's Sergei Bobrovsky (+250) win either. 'BetMGM is pulling for the Panthers in a Stanley Cup Finals rematch," BetMGM senior trader Matthew Rasp said in an email. "The Oilers have been a losing result for us all season, and we hope anyone besides Connor McDavid or Sergei Bobrovsky wins the Conn Smythe trophy.' As we saw last year, a Florida win doesn't necessarily mean McDavid won't still win the Conn Smythe, but it does give someone like Bobrovsky or Aleksander Barkov (+500) a better chance considering the roles they'd likely play in a potential Panthers triumph. After those three, Leon Draisaitl (+700) and Matthew Tkachuk (+2500) have the next best odds for the award. Edmonton is a -130 favorite on the moneyline for Game 1. McDavid to score a goal is the most popular prop at BetMGM. Did someone say Panthers? From the Florida Panthers to the Carolina Panthers. Only one of these teams has been a championship contender recently, but what if I told you that's about to change in 2025? What if I told you the Carolina cats are about to rise back to prominence -- and make it to the Super Bowl? Are you belly laughing yet? Yeah, I'll admit the thought of it was pretty funny to me too, but one eerie, totally not coincidental trend does make a convincing argument -- if you're prone to root for the Panthers -- that maybe just maybe Bryce Young has a chance to do something special this year. This is from OVIES and GIGLIO: Anyone who believes this trend means anything should go ahead and throw a couple bucks on Carolina's +6000 odds at BetMGM to win the NFC -- then immediately check yourself into a hospital to get examined. Sorry to bust bubbles, but as much as I believe Carolina is finally headed in the right direction, no way is this a team ready to push for a Super Bowl in 2025. The Panthers' odds to simply make the playoffs are +300. Show improve this season, and we can revisit this conversation a year from now. World Series of Poker The World Series of Poker got underway last week, and while I don't have much to report on that front until the main event gets started next month, here's a video of players giving themselves odds to get you warmed up:
