Fiona Shaw turned heads at the European premiere of Echo Valley at BFI Southbank in London.
The Harry Potter actress, 66, arrived on the red carpet on Tuesday, June 10, wearing a navy three-piece suit with a dizzying pattern. Shaw completed the look with a pair of platform sandals.
Echo Valley is an Apple TV+ psychological thriller starring Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney. The film, written by Brad Ingelsby and directed by Michael Pearce features a supporting cast that includes Shaw, alongside Domhnall Gleeson and Kyle MacLachlan.
Echo Valley debuted in select North American theaters on June 6, and will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting on June 13.
While many may recognize Shaw from playing the stern Aunt Petunia Dursley in the Harry Potter film series, her career spans decades. Some of her other notable roles include Medea and Richard II on stage, Marnie Stonebrook in True Blood, Carolyn Martens in Killing Eve, and Grace Williams in Bad Sisters.During a 1989 interview with The New York Times, Shaw, who was 31 years old at the time, admitted she was fearful about the future of her career.
'All I know is that I awake every morning thinking the hourglass is running out,' she said. 'It's not that I feel old, but that I think there is something I must say, something I must do before I die.'
Looking back on that interview in a 2024 conversation with Vanity Fair, Shaw said, 'Aren't you glad you're not meeting that woman now? Maybe at that time, the careers for men were so much better that I was so pleased to have one ... so I suspect the intensity came from that. That and: 'When you're being interviewed, you want to say very important things. I've stopped trying to do that.'"

Kate Beckinsale Sues Over Knee Injury on Croatian Set of ‘Canary Black'
Kate Beckinsale has sued the producers of 'Canary Black,' alleging that she suffered a significant knee injury during filming on an unsafe set in Croatia. Beckinsale alleges that she was injured while filming an action scene with minimal padding. She argues that the scene should have been done by a stunt performer, but that her stunt double had previously broken her ankle. During filming in December 2022, Beckinsale was to perform in a scene in which another actor threw her against a wall. 'Ms. Beckinsale complained that the scene did not seem safe, and that the throwing of her into the wall was too hard and too dangerous,' the lawsuit alleges. 'Notwithstanding the complaints by Ms. Beckinsale, there were numerous takes of this dangerous scene.' According to the complaint, Beckinsale suffered a complex tear of her left meniscus. Beckinsale sought medical care and was out of commission for a couple of months, returning to set in February to finish the film. She alleges that even then, the producers ignored the limitations imposed by her doctors and again coerced her into performing unsafe action scenes. The complaint was first reported by Puck. Beckinsale's attorneys filed a cursory version the lawsuit in December, listing Beckinsale as 'Jane Doe.' They did not serve Anton Entertainment, the defendants, until after amending the complaint with more detailed allegations, and with Beckinsale's name, in May. The defendants have yet to respond in court. The film debuted last year on Amazon Prime. Beckinsale has had several health issues in recent years. In 2024, she disclosed that she had been hospitalized for six weeks for an esophageal tear, which she attributed to a grief response to her stepfather's death. She also said a severe flare of her mast cell disease had contributed to her illness. Kate Middleton Refuses To 'Heel' To Dress Code Protocol With Latest Appearance
Kate Middleton Refuses To 'Heel' To Dress Code Protocol With Latest Appearance originally appeared on Parade. Kate Middleton was spotted staying fashionable on her latest royal outing with a pair of black stilettos — despite the dress code recommendations set forth by the museum she visited. Middleton, 43, visited the V&A East Storehouse in East London — a branch of the legendary British institution the Victoria and Albert museum — on June 10 and donned a gorgeous royal blue suit and complementing black heels… even though her footwear wasn't technically appropriate for the type of flooring the museum has. "We recommend wearing practical clothing and flat shoes," the V&A East Storehouse's website explains about their dress code. "The metal grid flooring is not suitable for stilettos or kitten heels." Clearly, Middleton wasn't pressed about the potential for tripping or slipping; She was more concerned about fashion, and we can't say we blame her because she looks gorgeous. This was her first royal outing since the half-term break with her three children — Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — and she looked to be in excellent spirits. That said, the iconic Princess of Wales has had a shoe snafu once in her tenure, back in 2018 when she got one of her heels stuck in a metal drain while visiting an addiction treatment center in Wickford, England. Plus, she was a whopping seven months pregnant at the time! Thankfully, her recent V&A visit wasn't a repeat of that day. In fact, it appeared to be a really enjoyable outing. 'She had a super energy. She was very energetic and focused. We last saw her about two years ago," V&A director Tristram Hunt told People following the visit." She retains this great passion and interest in creativity and making and design. It was wonderful to be able to host her.' He also added about her choice of footwear, 'She is a pro! She dealt with that!'
