Zoe Saldana 'honoured' by new Cartier role
The 47-year-old actress has been collaborating with the French jewellery for years now, and the company has described the development as an "exciting new chapter".
Cartier's chief marketing officer Arnaud Carrez told WWD: "[Her appointment] celebrates a relationship that has grown over many years and marks an exciting new chapter — one defined by shared creativity and bold expression.
'Her talent, grace and effortless elegance have long resonated with the maison.'
The brand added that this culmination of their past collaborations represents "a shared bold creativity".
Meanwhile, Zoe is "honoured" to be taking on a greater role with the company.
She said: 'I am honored to become an ambassador for Cartier, following many years of warm collaboration.
'I have long been an admirer of the maison's boundary-breaking savoir faire that creates incredible pieces of wearable art, and I look forward to continuing this special relationship.'
When it comes to her beauty approach, Zoe recently admitted she's a "sucker" for lip plumpers, and she usually keeps at least "four or five" lip glosses in her hand bag at all times.
When asked to list the contents of her purse, she told The Hollywood Reporter: "[There's] at least four or five lip glosses. In the early 2000s and I was introduced to lip plumpers. I am a sucker for them.
"I love anything that makes my lips feel tingly! And moisturizer. California can be a really dry place. We love the sun, but there's the perils of sunny California means that your lips are sometimes on the dry side. I like to have a variation of a moisturizer."
Zoe previously revealed one of her favourite lip products is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
In a video filmed for Vogue India, she explained: "My lips are always chapped so right now I'm using a really good lip balm."

John Oliver takes 'hard pass' on listening to Jay Leno
John Oliver has slammed Jay Leno for his recent warning to talk show hosts. The Last Week Tonight presenter insisted he will take a "hard pass" on listening to the veteran broadcaster - who hosted The Tonight Show from 1992 until 2009 and again from 2010 to 2014 - after Jay suggested some late night stars were alienating "half an audience" with political humour. John, 48, insisted Jay was wrong because comedy is "inherently subjective". He told The Hollywood Reporter: 'I'm going to take a hard pass on taking comedic advice from Jay Leno. "Who thinks that way? Executives? Comedy can't be for everyone. It's inherently subjective. "So, yeah, when you do stand-up, some people try to play to a broader audience, which is completely legitimate. Others decide not to, which is equally legitimate. " I guess I don't think it's a question of what you should do because I don't think comedy is prescriptive in that way. It's just what people want. "I think our show clearly comes from a point of view, but most of those long stories we do are not party political. They're about systemic issues. "Our last few shows were about gang databases, AI slop, juvenile justice, med spas, air traffic control. I'm not saying that these don't have a point of view in them. Of course they do. "But I hope a lot of them actually reach across people's political persuasions. You want people to at least be able to agree on the problem, even if you disagree on what the solution to it is." In the wake of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert being cancelled, John candidly admitted he is grateful that Last Week Tonight has won 30 Emmy awards because he thinks it gives it some "golden armour" against HBO pulling the plug. He said: "I think it is objectively very, very helpful to have won Emmys with the show. I think it has helped us keep our independence and keep the show on the air. So, yeah, I do think there is a utility to it. "It's something that I know has always been important to HBO, and so I'm massively grateful that we've won them, and long may that continue. Please! I don't want my theory tested." Shortly after it was announced CBS were scrapping Stephen's show, Jay suggested late night presenters were only able to appeal to "half the audience" because of their open political stances. In an interview with The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, the organisation's president and CEO David Trulio noted Jay's "balanced" approach to humour, and he replied: "I got hate letters saying, 'You and your Republican friends,' and another saying, 'I hope you and your Democratic buddies are happy,' over the same joke. 'That's how you get a whole audience. Now, you have to be content with half the audience, because you have to give your opinion... "I don't think anybody wants to hear a lecture. Why shoot for just half an audience? Why not try to get the whole? "I like to bring people into the big picture. I don't understand why you would alienate one particular group. Or just don't do it at all. I'm not saying you have to throw your support [on one side]. But just do what's funny."

Josh Brolin: The Weapons set was really communal
Josh Brolin found filming Weapons to be a really "communal" experience. The 57-year-old actor stars in the new horror film alongside the likes of Julia Garner, Cary Christopher, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan, and Josh has admitted to relishing his time on set. He told The Hollywood Reporter: "Everybody was great on this movie, man. It was just one of those communal experiences that you hope to always have when you're working." Josh particularly loved the experience of working with Julia on the new horror movie. He shared: "People kept saying, 'You guys are going to love each other and it's going to be great'. I got nervous then because I kept thinking, well, what if it's not great? I'm not going to agree to work with someone just because another person tells me that I'm going to like 'em." Despite his initial caution, Josh and Julia developed an immediate chemistry with each other. He said: "We just hit it off immediately. Like immediate cellular, sibling s***." The veteran actor also enjoyed working with Amy Madigan, having known her for years. Josh explained: "I've known Amy for a long time, and I'd come out of the [soundstage] and there she was with all this makeup on and it scared the s*** out of me. I'd want to stay away from her but at the same time, it was Amy and she's so sweet." Similarly, Julia cherished working with Josh, describing her co-star as "amazing". The 31-year-old actress admitted that Josh is "one of [her] favourite actors". She said: "We had so much fun. We spent every day giggling and laughing. "He's one of my favourite actors and he's just the best. Getting to meet him was incredible, and then working with him was incredible because of who he is as a person. He's so present as an actor. It really was a truly remarkable experience all around." Meanwhile, Josh previously admitted to having a "love-hate" relationship with acting. Despite this, the movie star revealed that he loved the experience of "losing [himself]" in a character. He told Forbes: "I always had a love-hate relationship with acting. "Acting to me was, I don't know - playing characters was probably the most fun that I had in really losing yourself in a character, if you're doing, you know, W, or if you're doing Milk or, you know, Only the Brave or Everest or things like that - things that are super adventurous or really deep in character."

Andy Serkis and Sir Ben Kingsley to star in Young Washington
Andy Serkis, Sir Ben Kingsley and Joel David Smallbone have joined the cast of Young Washington. The trio have joined the presidential origin story that is being developed by Wonder Project and Angel Studios. The movie - which is being directed by Wonder Project's Jon Erwin - stars the previously announced William Franklyn-Miller as a young George Washington and chronicles the beginnings of the first American president. After he makes a tremendous mistake that triggers the French and Indian War, the ambitious 22-year-old Washington must face up to his failures and find the courage to become a leader who will forge a nation. Kingsley will play Robert Dinwiddie, the strong-willed Virginia Governor who entrusts Washington with his first command, with Serkis starring as General Edward Braddock – an overconfident British officer who gives the defeated Washington another shot at military glory. Smallbone portrays William Fairfax, a cunning friend and romantic rival to Washington who moves effortlessly into the world of the British upper class to which the future president aspires. The film has been written by Erwin, Tom Provost and Diederik Hoogstraten and is due to enter production later this summer. In an unusual move, Angel Studios have made tickets available last month on its own platform – even though the movie is not being released for another year and not a single scene has been shot yet. Serkis is best known for his role as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings trilogy but confessed previously that starring in the epic fantasy franchise didn't hold much appeal to him at first. He told a Fan Expo San Francisco panel last year: "When I was first approached to play the role, it was explained to me by my agent when I first spoke to them on the phone about it. "They said, 'Look, they're making this little film down in New Zealand called Lord of the Rings, and they want to see you for a voice for a digital character.' "And I was like, 'What? There must be a dozen good roles in that movie.' "Can you not get me up for something decent?' And they said, 'Well, it is Gollum.' And I said, 'That's a decent role. Yeah, okay, alright, I'm listening.' " Serkis thought that he would just be voicing Gollum until director Sir Peter Jackson introduced him to motion capture technology. The 61-year-old actor said: "But originally, it was explained to me that it was just going to be the voice. And then when I met Peter Jackson and auditioned, he explained that they were just on the verge of trying out this new technology called motion capture, and that he wanted an actor to be on set to act with the other actors. Because up to that point, many CG characters were only represented by a tennis ball on a stick, and the actors had to pretend that they were having a relationship with it. "Gollum, as many people know, drives a lot of the scenes and drives the wedges between Frodo and Sam, and it's all about the interaction. He wanted an actor to play that character. "Motion capture aside, I just approached it like any other role, getting into the psychology and the physicality and then the voice."
