Cotswolds-based Kaleb Cooper, famed for his role in Clarkson's Farm, has sparked an impassioned plea on social media as he urged fans to avoid Chinese lanterns during the sizzling heatwave.
The agrarian influencer took to Instagram to vent his frustration after witnessing the risky drift of gleaming lanterns across the Chipping Norton skyline, despite the mercury rising to ever-increasing highs.
In a night-time video clip accompanied by the caption 'what is going on in the world,' Kaleb's fervent message resonated with urgency even amidst the shadows.
Ramping up the stakes, he rang 999 and announced: "I've just called this in to 999 but someone has felt the need to light two Chinese lanterns in and around the Chipping Norton area. They are currently floating over the area. I'm looking at both of them as we speak right now."
By highlighting the danger of igniting lanterns when the environment is bone-dry, he expressed disbelief: "But what goes through someone's mind when they decide to light two Chinese lanterns in the middle of a heatwave. We've hardly had any rain since March. Jesus, honestly. What's going on with the world.", reports the Mirror.
On his Instagram, admirers added their voices to his call for prudence, backing Kaleb's drive for awareness amidst potentially incendiary conditions. A supporter added their voice to the mix, pointing out: "People need educating mate. Spread the message."
Support for Kaleb's view was echoed firmly with one person commenting: "Well said Kaleb, this could quite easily start a wildfire."
Another voiced their concern: "Some people really don't have a clue. The farmer's field next to mine is that dry I can literally put my whole hand down the cracks of the soil."
Adding to the concern, another local said: "They should never do this for any celebration. They let some of these off for a wedding near me. They set fire to someone's house and barn when they landed. Plus livestock can ingest them when they land. It's like balloon releases. It's littering, pure and simple. Should be banned."
On their official webpage, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service takes an unequivocal position regarding sky lanterns: "Sky lanterns are a beautiful sight - but the potential damage they can cause is significant."
Their posted guidance also includes: "They use the heat of a naked flame to float. They're not only a fire hazard but also a danger to livestock, agriculture, camping activities, thatched properties and hazardous material sites."
The rescue service points out the unpredictable nature of the sky lanterns by cautioning: "Whilst ignition and launch are mostly in the control of the user, the actual flight path and end destination are not. There's no guarantee the fuel cell will be completely out and cooled when the lantern lands, so any contact with a flammable surface could start a fire."
The service noted that these individuals have been a nuisance, causing a great deal of trouble: "There's evidence of them causing fires, wasting police time, being mistaken for distress flares, misleading aircraft and killing livestock."

"We are heartbroken and still processing this loss," wrote the society. "Dan truly believed in sharing his experiences and educating people on the paranormal. "His kindness and passion touched everyone who knew him." Rivera, who is a US Army veteran, was working as the lead investigator for the society when he died. His death came just months after he achieved viral fame on TikTok by posting about his paranormal tour and findings on the historic doll. The real Annabelle, a Raggedy Ann doll, has been blamed by its first owner for a blaze that destroyed the Nottoway Plantation in Louisiana decades ago. The toy was first given to a student nurse Donna in 1970 as a gift from her mother. Donna claims that Annabelle would move from room to room without explanation, and wrote eerie notes that said "Help us." A friend of Donna's mother named Lou even claimed that one time when staying at their home, he woke up to a feeling of being strangled and had scratches on his body. He remembers watching his horror as Annabelle stared at him during the attack, according to the society. The New England Society for Psychic Research's full statement on Rivera's death "It's with deep sadness that Tony, Wade, and I share the sudden passing of our close friend and partner, Dan Rivera. "We are heartbroken and still processing this loss. "Dan truly believed in sharing his experiences and educating people on the paranormal. "His kindness and passion touched everyone who knew him. "Thank you for your support and kind thoughts during this difficult time." RIVERA REMEMBERED Donna's mom and her nurse called a medium, who told them the story of a girl named Annabelle Higgins who was found dead at the age of seven. They then called paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who inspired The Conjuring films, to look into the eerie claims. The doll was being held at the Warrens' Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut, until 2019, when Lorraine died and the museum closed. Legend has it that a man was killed by the doll after he banged on its case, despite being warned not to touch it. Rivera, who was mentored by the couple, took ownership of Annabelle and hoped to continue their work with his research and tour. His sudden death came after the Warren family had to squash claims that the doll had disappeared. 4 Rivera's cause of death hasn't been released Credit: Instagram/dan_rivera_nespr More to follow... Prince William's 'strict' stance on Prince Harry even if he reconciles with King

A royal source has told the Mirror that Prince William is still 'deeply wounded' by the allegations levelled against him by Prince Harry in his various interviews and memoir, Spare Prince William remains"deeply wounded" by Prince Harry and has no plans to contact him - even if he reconciles with other Royal Family members, according to an source. ‌ It is said that King Charles would welcome a reunion with his youngest son the Duke of Sussex, as long as he scales back his public attacks on the family and stops the "endless" interviews. It comes after senior aides to both father and son held a secret peace summit last week - said to be a "significant" step in reuniting the feuding pair. At least three representatives from either side were seen speaking at the Royal Over-Seas League which sits just three minutes from Clarence House. ‌ ‌ The meeting has prompted many to wonder if the aides had been discussing a possible meeting between the King and Harry, when he is due to visit the UK in September. However, no representatives for William, who also has an extremely rocky relationship with his brother, were at the meeting. And a royal source told the Mirror that the Prince of Wales is still reeling over his falling out with his brother, as he continues to struggle with claims made by Harry in various interviews and in his autobiography Spare. The source said: "The Prince of Wales remains deeply wounded by Prince Harry's various allegations in his memoir and endless broadcast interviews over the last few years. ‌ "There are no plans to either make contact with or arrange to see the Duke of Sussex in the near future and regardless of any members of the family seeking reconciliation, that is certainly not on the prince's mind. Both the Prince and Princess of Wales are entirely focussed on their various important duties and their own family." It comes as a close friend of the Waleses has also spoken out over the potential reconciliation, telling MailOnline that William and his wife Kate had not been made aware of the meeting, and had been deliberately left out. ‌ 'It's no coincidence that William and Catherine did not have a representative at the Royal Over-Seas League,' says one of the royal couple's alleged friends. 'They were not asked to send anyone and will be treating the talks with extreme caution." The insider close to the Waleses referred to one of the biggest obstacles in the way of a 'rapprochement process' between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family: the loss of trust. ‌ While the royals haven't been on speaking terms with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Sussexes have made the most of their platform by engaging in several tell-all interviews in which they dropped several allegations against the Firm, as Harry also did in his autobiography Spare. But if any reconciliation is to be on the cards between father and son, one source warned it would only come if Harry, 40, stops conducting "endless rounds of broadcast interviews as his only way of communication". A source previously told the Mirror: "The King has consistently shown he loves both his sons and as he has done in the past is prepared to meet Harry when their diaries allow such an occasion. It's not unusual for aides from different households to meet, especially when there is a new influx of staff starting their roles, but of course this is a significant moment. ‌ "Senior members of the family have in the past said to Harry that he must both stop his attacks on the family as well as giving endless rounds of broadcast interviews as his only way of communication. If there is a period of calm and reflection on the part of the Duke of Sussex, then there may be a way forward for him to begin along the road of repairing his relationship with his father.' Harry recently made public his desire to bury the hatchet with his family, saying in a tell-all interview with the BBC in May that he 'would love a reconciliation' with the King and William, as he admitted that he was tired of fighting, and he worried about Charles' health because he did 'not know how much longer [his] father has.' In the interview, the Duke even said: "I would like to get my father and brother back."
