Tipra Motha youth wing protests against construction of embankment by Bangladesh on River Muhuri, spies role of China and Pakistan
Youth Tipra Federation (YTF) – the youth wing of the Tipra Motha – held a protest rally opposing the construction of an embankment by Bangladesh near the international border in South Tripura district on Monday.
The rally started from Belonia township and went up to the Bankarbazar area close to the border, where it was stopped by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel.
The protesters claimed that Bangladesh has constructed an embankment on the River Muhuri within 150 yards of the international border in violation of the 1974 Indira-Mujib pact. They also claimed that another embankment had been illegally built by Bangladesh and added that all this was being done at the behest of Pakistan and China.
The protesters raised slogans against Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of the interim government in Bangladesh, for claiming that Northeast India was landlocked and projecting Bangladesh as 'the only guardians of the ocean' in the Bay of Bengal.
Speaking to reporters, YTF leader David Murasingh said, 'We gave Bangladesh its independence. Tripura's demography has changed due to that as well. Lots of lands belonging to Hindu Bengalis are still lying there (Bangladesh)… While terrorist attacks are being launched on Indians (at Pahalgam) in Kashmir on the western frontier, Bangladesh is creating an embankment by violating international border agreements right along the border on the eastern frontier. This is a threat to us.'

Citing the alleged attack on actor Saif Ali Khan by a Bangladeshi infiltrator in Mumbai last year, Murasingh said, 'They (a Bangladeshi national) stabbed him (Saif Ali Khan), trying to kill him… they are becoming terrorists. They come to Tripura, Kolkata, Assam, etc. After attacking, they try to return to Bangladesh. We want to warn that this wouldn't continue for long.'
Murasingh also claimed YTF activists alone will be enough to reclaim land in Bangladesh that belonged to the erstwhile royal kingdom of Tripura.
'… Tripura's land like Chittagong, where the Indian Tricolour was flown for three days after Independence, will be reclaimed. This land was given to the then East Pakistan by forgery. Indigenous and Hindu people are being tortured, raped there. There are no human rights,' he said.
Later in the day, Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma took to social media and wrote, 'Today at Belonia, Tripura thousands of our Warriors were stopped by the BSF otherwise the illegal construction by Bangladesh would have been demolished. These are the youth of our Tiprasa all we need is a green signal, rest we will handle!'

WHAT IT MEANS FOR INDIANS Most of the Indian professionals and students in Germany are not under subsidiary protection. The changes, however, may impact vulnerable migrants and delay long-term settlement plans. India remains a key contributor to Germany's skilled labor pool, with initiatives such as the ' Opportunity Card ' being expanded to address labour shortages. Merz recently said that a court ruling against the expulsion by border police of three Somali asylum seekers could restrict his government's migration crackdown but would not stop it. People would continue to be turned away at the German border, he said. A Berlin administrative court last week said the expulsion of the three unnamed Somalis, who were sent back to Poland after arriving at a train station in eastern Germany, was 'unlawful". It said that under the European Union's Dublin Regulation, Germany should have determined which country was responsible for processing their claim before sending them back, in a ruling that Merz's interior minister contested. That marks a big shift since Germany's 'Refugees Welcome" culture during Europe's migrant crisis in 2015 under Merz's conservative predecessor, Angela Merkel. Merz's government issued an order in May to reject undocumented migrants, including asylum seekers, at Germany's borders. Dobrindt defended the expulsions, saying he would provide justifications for banning entry and portraying the ruling as an isolated case. Lured with hospital jobs, 3 Bangladeshi women trafficked to Mumbai and forced into sex trade
The Malvani police arrested a 53-year-old man Saturday and are currently searching for his three accomplices for allegedly trafficking three women from Bangladesh to Mumbai, misleading them with false promises of employment at a hospital, only to force them into the sex trade. The police rescued the three Bangladeshi women and sent them to a shelter home. According to the police, acting on specific information, the Malwani police raided a house Saturday night and rescued the three women. During the initial investigation, when the women's statements were recorded, it was revealed that they are Bangladeshi nationals from poor families. The women were desperately seeking work to support their families, the police said. The victims told the police that the accused falsely promised them jobs in hospitals in Mumbai. Last month, they were allegedly brought to Mumbai by illegally crossing the international border between India and Bangladesh. The accused allegedly bribed some government officials at the border to facilitate their illegal entry into India. The police registered a suo motu FIR and arrested Mansar Ahmed Sheikh, a Malvani resident, and are looking for Mehandi Hassan, Sanjeev alias Bachchan, and Akash alias Shaheen. The group members also allegedly helped one of the three women in making an Aadhaar card in her name to conceal her Bangladeshi nationality, an officer said. The four accused have been booked under sections 143(3) [trafficking of person], 144(2) [Exploitation of a trafficked person], 336(3) [crime of forgery], and 3(5) [common intention] of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 4 and 5 of the Illegal Trafficking (Prevention) Act. The police are investigating whether the group trafficked women and forced them into the flesh trade in the past.

The Mahagathbandhan, including Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties, managed to secure 110 seats in the state's 243-seat legislative assembly.
