Well, as one of the lucky few who's been able to visit many of the most respected superyacht shipyards in the world (who's also been granted a glimpse of just how many gifted artists, craftsman, designers, naval architects, welders, electronics and computer experts, furniture makers, carpenters, propulsion and propeller experts, sound and light engineers, and a myriad of other highly talented people working together like a 3-dimensional symphony of shipbuilding for up to four years it takes to build a superyacht like the one that just emerged from a Feadship build shed in Holland), I'm here to say… 'No superyacht launch is ever 'just another superyacht launch!''

In my opinion, every new superyacht launched not only occupies the absolute pinnacle of luxury. In many cases, they're also the largest, custom-built, one-of-a-kind, and yes…most expensive products (that entire villages of highly skilled craftspeople build by hand) humans can buy. They're mobile private islands of awesome. They're the ultimate flex. And they are ultimate family escape craft too. So, without further ado, may I introduce you to the newest 235-foot-long Feadship superyacht that's simply called Project 827?
According to the specs, the exterior design and styling featuring clean lines and perfect proportions by is Studio De Voogt. It has five decks of living space and generous interior spaces that feature gobs of floor-to-ceiling glass, angelic natural light, and community spaces that are conducive to chilling.
A dedicated owner's deck offers a panoramic and secluded master stateroom with wrap-around glass, direct access to a private breakfast area, and my personal favorite—a hot tub. This secluded level is made possible by the raised pilothouse.
TaDa! The new Feadship Project 827 sees the sun for the first time.
On the main deck aft, the saloon is wraped in floor-to-celling glass, and opens onto an large aft deck area with a 23-foot-long pool and lots of comfortable places to lounge in the sun. The guest accommodation areas are located on the main deck too. Four staterooms and two VIP suites offer flexible comfort, with the VIPs able to combine into a full-beam suite. Beneath the aft deck, a wellness space sits just steps from the swim platform and is easily accessible to everyone on board.

The largest jackpot ever won in Virginia has been claimed by an anonymous winner, according to a press release from the Virginia Lottery. And just what does that person plan to do with their winnings? They told Virginia Lottery officials they plan to buy a zero-radius riding lawnmower. The $348 million jackpot in the June 27 Mega Millions drawing was won by a single ticket, which was bought at E & C Mid Atlantic, located at 14878 Northumberland Highway in Burgess. That ticket matched all six winning numbers: 18-21-29-42-50 and the Mega Ball number 2. About four weeks after the drawing, the winner walked into Virginia Lottery headquarters in Richmond and presented lottery officials with the ticket. Virginia law permits any winner of a prize worth $1 million and greater to claim the prize anonymously, in which case the lottery does not publicly disclose the winner's identity. The winner had the choice of taking the $348 million jackpot in annual payments over 30 years or a one-time cash option of $155.6 million before taxes. They chose the cash option. Jamie Edmiston, CEO of his namesake company, said in a statement it's 'the most extraordinary yacht ever built [and] the one that will change it all.' Neither Gates nor Edmiston responded to requests for comment from Fortune, but it's been widely reported across business and industry-specific publications the superyacht was commissioned by Gates just a few years ago. Dutch shipyard Feadship spent five years building 'Breakthrough,' also known as 'Project 821,' and it's large enough to accommodate 43 crew members and 30 guests across 15 cabins. Forbes Australia reported in May 2024 the yacht also features a hospital, library, elevator, movie theatre, pool, hot tubs, steam room, gym, separate owners' deck with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two offices, and 14 slide-out balconies. 'The big deal about Breakthrough is that it's a modern engineering marvel, period,' Brad Hall, CEO of online yacht marketplace Yachtlify, told Fortune. That's because the 'Breakthrough' is the world's first hydrogen fuel-cell superyacht. And that's what makes the superyacht particularly expensive, Heigo Paartalu, CEO of YachtWay, told Fortune. 'Breakthrough—true to its name—is a genuine breakthrough and milestone in innovation,' said Paartalu, who heads up what can be compared to the Zillow for yachts. 'It's the only privately owned vessel powered by hydrogen, and building one demands extreme precision, as any hydrogen leak could be catastrophic.'
