Mum issues urgent warning as toddler left screaming in agony at seaside hotspot thanks to beachgoers' dangerous mistake

A MOTHER has issued an urgent warning after her toddler was left screaming in agony at a popular seaside hotspot due to a dangerous mistake made by beachgoers. The two-year-old boy was taken to hospital as a result of the "thoughtless" beach-goers activities. 7 7 7 Harry Lambert received burns to both his both feet - after running over an abandoned fire pit on the beach. Amy Lambert, 36, and her husband Richard Lambert, 37, had driven to Dorset on August 4 for a week's holiday with their two sons Harry and Tommy, 6. The family enjoyed the first five days of their holiday playing on Avon beach in Mudeford, Christchurch. But when the family-of-four visited the beach on August 9th, the mum-of-two said Harry ran over a 'hot' patch of sand while playing and began to scream. Company director Richard rushed Harry into the sea to try and cool his scorched feet down in the water, initially baffled by what had upset him. As Harry continued to cry, Amy rushed her son back up to the lodge where they were staying and ran his feet under the sink for 20 minutes. But when this offered no relief, the company director drove him to Royal Bournemouth Hospital in Bournemouth, Dorset, where she was told he had suffered surface burns on his feet. Wince-inducing photos show the two-year-old's scorched feet had erupted with 'fluid-filled' blisters on each toe, before they were carefully bandaged up. After flagging the incident to a lifeguard after it happened, it was later discovered to be a fire pit concealed by sand that was still burning. Now healing, Amy is sharing her son's story to urge people to put out fire pits and disposable BBQs on the beach properly - to ensure it doesn't happen to anyone else. Amy, from Fordingbridge, Hampshire, said: "We went down on the beach in the morning. "My son Harry was running along on the beach, playing with his digger and he ran across this patch on the beach and instantly started screaming. "My husband put two and two together and instantly put him in the sea. "His feet were bright red and from the moment it happened he screamed for a whole hour. "I felt hopeless as there was nothing we could do [to stop the pain]. "[While I looked after Harry], my husband had gone back to the beach with my other son to tell the lifeguard. "The lifeguard then got a large bucket of water from the sea and poured it over it [the hot patch of sand]. "A huge cloud of smoke came off it as it was boiling. "As they poured more water on it, they discovered a fire pit underneath that had been dug into the sand. "It looked like normal sand and there was nothing to say there was a fire pit there at all. 7 7 "It was heartbreaking to see him in pain as there was nothing I could do and I couldn't explain it to him either as he's so small. "He just kept screaming, 'I don't like it, I don't like it'. "The hospital said that him being in pain was a good thing as he hadn't suffered any nerve damage and it was just surface burns. "He had blisters on every one of his toes and the soles of his feet were bright red." At the hospital, Harry had both his feet bandaged up and returned the next day for a check up. Thankfully, Amy says his injuries are now healing well and he will not need surgery on his feet. Amy said: "He still had the blisters on his toes but they were happy with his progress. "He has three blisters that are quite large and round and filled with fluid but the others are quite flat. "Harry is very lucky. He is only small and if he had fallen over or hit his face, it could have been worse. "He's a little water baby and loves to be down near the sea. "We do intend to get him back down there as soon as we can so he's not worried. It's not something we'd ever think would happen to him." Since the incident, Amy has now shared Harry's story on social media to warn people about the importance of disposing of their beach BBQs and fire pits properly. Amy said: "For me, I've always known not to cover a BBQ but maybe people don't know this. "If you're down on the beach in the evening having a good time, you're probably not thinking about the people the next day. "They probably think that if they cover it, it will be cold the next day. Actually it's making it worse as sand is a conductor and generates more heat. "It was just as hot as if there was still a fire there. You just need to cool it down and get rid of it properly." Anthony Rogers, head of seafront at BCP Council, said: "It is disappointing that the inconsideration of others has ruined what should have been a lovely trip to the beach for the Lambert family. "Disposable BBQs are only allowed on our beaches from 6pm to 10.30pm and we consistently ask everyone who uses one to dispose of them properly - that means extinguishing them carefully and leaving it next to our bins ready for collection. "BBQs should never be buried or put into bins whilst hot and this is an unfortunate reminder of precisely why. "We wish Harry a speedy recovery and hope he can return and enjoy the beach again soon." 7

Lifelong football fan forced to watch matches from tree after stadium ban

A lifelong Epsom & Ewell FC supporter banned from matches has taken to watching games from a nearby tree. Richard Lambert, 58, received a lifetime ban in January after briefly renaming his X account to mimic the club's official page—a move he says was a protest. Claiming the committee dislikes his criticisms, Lambert vows to keep supporting from the treetops, even as the club insists the ban 'will never change.'

Banned fan cheers on non-league team from tree

A lifelong fan of a non-league football club has resorted to cheering on his team from the branches of a nearby tree after being served with what he describes as an "unwarranted" lifetime stadium ban by the Lambert, 58, who has followed ninth tier Epsom & Ewell FC for almost 44 years, has been refused entry to the ground since January following a long-running series of disputes with the committee that runs the claims the suspension was ultimately issued after he upset the committee by changing the name of his personal X account to appear as though it was the official club Lambert has been highly critical of the club, which plays in the Combined Counties Premier Division South, from his own social media feed and website with some of that criticism personal in nature against named committee April, BBC London has asked Epsom & Ewell on three separate occasions why Mr Lambert has been banned for life. The club has declined to provide details, saying only: "We have had a number of issues with this supporter over the years. We do not want to discuss this any further. The matter has been dealt with."BBC London has seen the letter the club sent to Mr Lambert notifying him of his ban. It gives the sole reason for the punishment as being his breaking of a previous agreement not to use his social media account in such a letter also refers to it as an "indefinite" BBC London's most recent approach to the club this week, they again declined to give details but said: "The ban is now for life and that will never change."Mr Lambert says the club has not informed him of this change to the status of the ban. 'All I want to do is see my team play' It was as a 15-year-old in 1981 that Mr Lambert watched his first Epsom & Ewell describes himself as "being bitten by the football bug" and has barely missed a match Lambert has acted as club historian for 20 years and writes match reports for nearly every game, something he is still doing from his new position in the trees."I only miss one or two games a season," he said. "All I want to do is see my team play, but I also want to see the culture at our club change towards valuing its supporters."Lifetime stadium bans in football are rare and are usually only handed out for the most serious offences or where a supporter has broken the law, which is not the case any football club is within its rights to ban anyone from their premises for any length of time and does not necessarily have to give a FA said they would not be commenting as it "is an internal club issue which we are not a part of". 'The club are missing a valuable supporter' The Football Supporters' Association – which works on behalf of fans – says it has been attempting to mediate but that the club has ignored its approaches."We quite often come in to act as the middleman to try and broker solutions between clubs and supporters where relationships have broken down," Garreth Cummins from the FSA told BBC London."Unfortunately, in this case, Epsom & Ewell have not engaged at all with that process, despite our repeated attempts and Richard's repeated attempts."We will always do what we can to help get the football supporter back in the ground, because, particularly at non-league level fans are the lifeblood of the game, and in a situation like this we don't see that either side is winning."Richard is left on the outside looking in, and the club are missing a valuable and long-serving supporter."Epsom & Ewell is a members' club which is run by committee. Mel Tough has served as chairman and Barry Gartell as vice chairman since both being elected to their roles in August after his ban, Mr Lambert watched matches from just outside the perimeter fence of the stadium. But in March, he says the club hired a security guard to prevent him standing there so he took to climbing a nearby tree viewed the final games of last season from a height of around 30ft overlooking King George's Field in Surbiton, which Epsom were ground sharing with Corinthian summer, Epsom returned to one of their former homes - Leg O'Mutton Field in Cobham, which they share with Cobham the 2025-26 season already under way Mr Lambert has found a new tree to scale and is grateful he doesn't have to climb quite so high for a view of the whole pitch any more. 'I'll climb this tree for life' "If the ban stays in place for life, then I'll be climbing this tree for the rest of my life," Mr Lambert added. "Or at least for as long as I'm physically able to."Every football fan understands that you never desert your team. Whatever it takes to see Epsom play, I'll continue to do it."The Salts averaged home crowds of around 90 for league matches last in 1918 as Epsom Juniors, their greatest achievement was finishing as runners-up to Hoddesdon Town at Wembley in the first ever FA Vase final in recently they won last season's Southern Combination Challenge beat Abbey Rangers 1-0 in the final which took place in April at their then home ground of King George's they lifted the trophy the Salts were cheered on by around 200 of their fans from pitch side, and a one up a tree.

Emmerdale actress reveals she was mugged on her birthday and says ‘it's all gone'

EMMERDALE actress Gemma Oaten has revealed she was mugged on her birthday, just hours after enjoying an evening out with her husband in London. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the 40-year-old shared a series of photos from the special night out, before explaining to fans how the day had taken an unexpected turn. Gemma wrote: 'OK, so let's get the crappy stuff out of the way – life threw a little curve ball on my birthday yesterday and I had my phone stolen about 2 hours after these photos were taken. Bank cards, everything gone. 'So apologize if I haven't been responding to text/WhatsApp/social media – I have no phone. I guess I was mugged – but I am safe and no harm came to me, it was all very quick.' Despite the incident, Gemma chose to focus on the positive aspects of her day, praising her friend Richard, who joined her for the evening. She added: 'Now onto the good stuff – I was so blown away by all my birthday messages, thank you! "And I had the most amazing day pampering myself before a gorgeous evening with one of my best friends in the world @richardlamberth who took me to where we first met at Groucho all those years ago, before having a seafood feast to die for at @randallandaubin.' Looking ahead to a planned holiday, Gemma admitted the day after the mugging was 'a bit stressful' as she tried to replace essentials and access funds. The star continued: 'Today has been a bit stressful, as I go on holiday tomorrow – trying to get money out at the bank, an oyster card, find a way to get hold of my train tickets – but I have done it. "And although I don't have a phone – I only feel blessed and grateful for all the kindness I have received today as I have ran around Fulham, trying to suss it all out. "Sometimes, we can't control the uncontrolables, that's life. BUT, we can chose how we react.' Gemma - who played Gemma played Rachel Breckle in the ITV soap - ended her post by thanking Richard for his support and assuring fans she'd briefly check in before her holiday. Huge Emmerdale star admits she was 'burned' after being snubbed from I'm A Celeb line-up following health battle She wrote: 'I won't be able to reply to anyone and apologies if you have messaged my phone over the last 20 hours – it is blocked and until my e-sim is activated, I will be a little quiet. "However I will bob on tomorrow before I sign off social media for my holibobs! WHOOP! "Always take the blessings. Thank you Richard for keeping me calm and safe and getting me home last night – I am so lucky to have you. "Life has so many postives, you just have to keep making sure you are open to seeing them. You matter, G xxx." It's been a turbulent times for the soap star, with a biscuit company boss recently sacked for slapping Gemma's bum at an awards bash, a tribunal heard. Steve Jones claimed she had given him permission for the on-stage slap. But a colleague who later saw a video of the incident said it had upset her and referred to the #Metoo movement. Jones, who was head of health and safety at McVitie's owner Pladis, was then fired for 'violating morality and decency'. An employment tribunal was told that the incident happened as he volunteered to go on stage to accept a gong won by the company. It was being presented by an actress — not identified at the hearing — and Jones stood next to her and slapped her bottom. The tribunal heard that although Jones had not asked for consent, he told her he had slapped another 'well-known woman's' bum on stage, so the actress said 'go for it'. Hundreds of people had attended the International Safety Awards — organised by the British Safety Council — which took place at the InterContinental Hotel in London' s Park Lane on June 7 last year. A junior colleague of Jones who was at the event — but who did not see the slap — said she was shown a video of the incident and was upset by it. Jones was reported to HR and had a disciplinary hearing the following month for 'physical conduct pertaining to sexual harassment '. He said he had 'nothing to apologise' for and that even the actress 'felt it was appropriate in the context of the evening'. But Jones was sacked over the 'wholly inappropriate' behaviour. He was told that entering into a conversation with the presenter before receiving the award was 'ill-judged and had the potential to put any female presenter in a very uncomfortable position'. Gemma, who was in Emmerdale from 2011 to 2015, was not interviewed on the matter. But in a social media post the day after the bash, she told of the 'naughtiness' of the event and said she had a 'bloody good giggle'. Jones had joined Pladia in 2001 as head of health, safety, environment and security. He appealed against his sacking but it was dismissed. He then took it to the tribunal, alleging unfair dismissal. Jones said the views of the actress were 'highly relevant' and that she 'did not feel harassed, was not distressed, and made no complaint'. But the central London tribunal found his conduct had upset colleagues and he was fairly dismissed. The Sun approached Gemma for comment at the time. 5 5 5 5

Newest Feadship Superyacht Unveiled

Newest Feadship emerges from its build shed in Holland With new superyachts of staggering sizes emerging from shipyards all over the world this spring, you might think it would be easy to say 'Ho hum, just another superyacht launch.' Well, as one of the lucky few who's been able to visit many of the most respected superyacht shipyards in the world (who's also been granted a glimpse of just how many gifted artists, craftsman, designers, naval architects, welders, electronics and computer experts, furniture makers, carpenters, propulsion and propeller experts, sound and light engineers, and a myriad of other highly talented people working together like a 3-dimensional symphony of shipbuilding for up to four years it takes to build a superyacht like the one that just emerged from a Feadship build shed in Holland), I'm here to say… 'No superyacht launch is ever 'just another superyacht launch!'' The new Feadship Project 827 just before she emerges from her build shed. In my opinion, every new superyacht launched not only occupies the absolute pinnacle of luxury. In many cases, they're also the largest, custom-built, one-of-a-kind, and yes…most expensive products (that entire villages of highly skilled craftspeople build by hand) humans can buy. They're mobile private islands of awesome. They're the ultimate flex. And they are ultimate family escape craft too. So, without further ado, may I introduce you to the newest 235-foot-long Feadship superyacht that's simply called Project 827? According to the specs, the exterior design and styling featuring clean lines and perfect proportions by is Studio De Voogt. It has five decks of living space and generous interior spaces that feature gobs of floor-to-ceiling glass, angelic natural light, and community spaces that are conducive to chilling. A dedicated owner's deck offers a panoramic and secluded master stateroom with wrap-around glass, direct access to a private breakfast area, and my personal favorite—a hot tub. This secluded level is made possible by the raised pilothouse. TaDa! The new Feadship Project 827 sees the sun for the first time. On the main deck aft, the saloon is wraped in floor-to-celling glass, and opens onto an large aft deck area with a 23-foot-long pool and lots of comfortable places to lounge in the sun. The guest accommodation areas are located on the main deck too. Four staterooms and two VIP suites offer flexible comfort, with the VIPs able to combine into a full-beam suite. Beneath the aft deck, a wellness space sits just steps from the swim platform and is easily accessible to everyone on board. Richard Lambert, Senior Partner at Burgess says, 'It has been a pleasure to have worked hand in hand with the owner and Feadship for Project 827; our close collaboration has resulted in a contemporary, elegant design with an impressive volume.' Meanwhile, Project 827's propulsion is driven by a next-generation diesel-electric system that shows Feadship continues to innovate hybrid propulsion systems that combine IMO Tier III-compliant generators with electric thrusters to create cruising experience that's quieter, cleaner, and engineered to support future sustainable energy solutions. All I have to say is…congratulations to everyone involved! And I can't wait to see Project 827 in the wild (with a new name of course) when the lucky new owner takes delivery.
