Arsonists have allegedly targeted a farmhouse at Princess Diana's family estate in Northamptonshire.
Lady Di's brother Charles Spencer revealed that a farmhouse at Althorp House was devastated in a huge fire after 'arson.'
Footage shows a cottage going up in a fireball yesterday evening, with nearby properties appearing to be at risk too.
Charles Spencer wrote on X: 'Stunned to learn that one of Althorp House's farmhouses – fortunately, unoccupied at the time – was apparently burnt down by vandals last night.
'With thanks to Northamptonshire Fire Service for doing their very best.
'So very sad that anyone would think this a fun thing to do.'
The farmhouse, which is part of the Althorp House estate near Great Brington, appeared destroyed in the blaze after images showed smoke rising from the smouldering remains.
Princess Diana is buried on an island located in the historic estate's Oval Lake.
Althorp – a sprawling 13,000-acre estate – has been in the Spencer family for more than 500 years. More Trending

Her brother has owned Althorp since 1992 when he inherited the estate at the age of 27.
Thousands of visitors flock to the estate every summer when the grounds and the manor are open. It also hosts an annual literary festival.

Mum-of-six 'beaten to death by wanted man on the run' while walking her dog
A dog walker was beaten to death by a fugitive who was living off-grid in the countryside, a court has heard. Anita Rose, 57, is said to have encountered Roy Barclay, 56, after setting off from her home in Brantham, Suffolk, with her dog Bruce early on July 24 last year. Jurors at Ipswich Crown Court heard she was subject to a 'vicious and brutal attack with numerous kicks, stamps and blows being delivered to her face, head and body'. She was found by passers-by with Bruce's lead wrapped tightly around her leg, the court heard, and she died four days later at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. Christopher Paxton KC, prosecuting, told the court 'no eyewitnesses saw the incident'. But he said the pink jacket Anita was wearing on the day she was attacked was found at one of Barclay's makeshift camps. 'You will hear that Roy Barclay had no fixed address and lived mostly in the countryside, wandering the fields and lanes, sleeping in various makeshift camps,' he added. 'He lived off-grid because for two years, Roy Barclay had been unlawfully at large. 'He had been on the run trying to avoid the police and authorities to try and avoid being recalled back to prison.' Mr Paxton said Barclay, who denies murder, kept the jacket 'as a trophy' and it had Barclay's 'semen on the neckline'. He said Barclay's walking boots – which 'amounted to the murder weapon' – were found at the same camp. There is 'support for the conclusion that the marks on Anita's face were made by these boots', the barrister added. He said Ms Rose's phone case was also found there, and her Samsung earbuds were located at a different makeshift camp Barclay had used. Mr Paxton said Barclay 'carries dog biscuits with him and is a dog lover'. He said Barclay tied the dog lead around Ms Rose's leg 'we say to stop Bruce (the dog) running off'. Jurors heard Barclay made various internet searches after the attack, including 'how are outside objects swabbed for DNA' and 'can barbed wire be swabbed for DNA'. More Trending The prosecutor described Barclay as 'cunning and resourceful'. The defendant, who wore glasses, a grey prison-issue tracksuit and has a grey beard and long, thinning grey hair, listened to proceedings from the secure dock of the court. Relatives of Ms Rose listened from the public gallery. The trial, which is due to last eight weeks, continues. Russell Brand arrives at court to enter plea in rape and sexual assault case
Russell Brand was seen arriving at Southwark Crown Court on Friday morning hours before he is expected to enter his plea in a rape and sexual assault case. The actor and comedian, 49, is appearing in court on Friday after being formally charged by the Metropolitan Police last month with rape and sexual assault. Brand did not speak to reporters and looked straight ahead as he entered the court building. He was charged in April with one count each of rape, indecent assault and oral rape, as well as two counts of sexual assault, relating to four separate women. The Get Him To The Greek star was released on conditional bail and has returned to court for his plea and trial preparation hearing. Brand has been accused of sexual assault and controlling behaviour over several years at the height of his fame. The allegations against Brand were first published in September 2023 when the alleged victims came forward. He has maintained his innocence, and previously stated that any encounters were 'consensual', while declaring he was 'never was a rapist'. In a video posted on X, the comedian said: 'I am now going to have the opportunity to defend these charges in court and I'm incredibly grateful for that.' He said in the clip: 'I've always told you guys that when I was young and single before I had a wife and family, who are there just out of shot. I was a fool, man, I was a fool before I lived in the light of the Lord. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'I was a drug addict, a sex addict, and an imbecile but what I never was, was a rapist.' Brand made his first court appearance earlier this month at Westminster Magistrates' Court, facing allegations of offences against four women from 1999 to 2005. He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, address, and that he understood his bail conditions. The charges against him, as heard in court, include allegedly raping a woman in a hotel room when she attended a Labour Party conference in 1999. It is alleged that when the woman went to the bathroom after a theatrical event in Bournemouth, Brand removed some of his clothing and later pushed her on the bed, removed her underwear, and raped her. Another woman accused Brand of indecent assault after being allegedly grabbed by her forearm by him as he tried to drag her into a male toilet at a television station in 2001. The third alleged victim, the court heard, was a TV worker Brand met in Soho 21 years ago, and he is accused of grabbing her breasts before allegedly orally raping her after pulling her into a toilet. More Trending The fourth complainant is a radio station worker who met Brand during his time working for Channel 4 show Big Brother's Big Mouth between 2004 and 2005. It's alleged that Brand grabbed her by the face with both hands and pushed her against a wall, kissed her and then grabbed her breasts and buttocks. Brand was charged following an investigation, after he was accused of rape, sexual assaults and emotional abuse by several women, in a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches, in September 2023. Posting on his X account at the time of the allegations, Brand said he welcomed the opportunity to prove his innocence. Got a story?
