Haryana: CM Nayab Singh Saini flags off Kaithal Half Marathon
Earlier, CM Saini on Saturday heard public grievances at Jan Pratinidhi Sammelan and Jan Samvad programme in Kaithal.
According to an official release, CM Saini said that Nagar Parishad, Block Samiti, and Zila Parishad members have a direct relation with people, and citizens have a lot of expectations from them, so public representatives should solve their problems on a priority basis. They should also take full care of the quality of development works going on in their area.
CM Saini said that the main objective of organising this programme is to give impetus to whatever development work is going on or is to be done in their area by directly communicating with the public.
He said that ever since he became the Chief Minister, he has provided funds for development works for the Gram Panchayat as well as the Zila Parishad so that development works can be accelerated. Recently, an amount of about Rs 700 crore has also been made available for the local body.
The Chief Minister urged the public representatives to inspire people to take advantage of the government's flagship programmes and schemes. Public representatives should speed up water conservation, cleanliness campaign, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan in their respective areas.
He said that wherever the construction work of streets is being done, clear instructions have been given that if any pipeline or other work is to be laid anywhere, the concerned agency will ensure that it is done. After the construction of the street, people should not face any kind of problem due to the pipeline or other work.
CM told the public representatives present on the occasion that any person in their area, ward or rural area who has completed 70 years of age should be helped in getting an Ayushman card made so that they can get the benefit of this ambitious scheme of the government. Along with this, people must be motivated to install a 2-kilowatt solar energy panel under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
On this occasion, Nagar Parishad Chairperson Surbhi Garg and Zila Parishad Chairperson Karmveer Kaul put forth the problems of the area before the Chief Minister through a demand letter.
The Chief Minister also heard the problems of the people in detail at the Jan Samvad programme. He went among the people and listened to the problems of each applicant, reassuring everyone that their problems would be resolved on a priority basis.
Saini also honoured meritorious students, progressive farmers, and individuals leading in social service by presenting them with letters of appreciation. (ANI)

Cabinet okays 4 semiconductor manufacturing units with Rs 4,600 crore outlay
New Delhi: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday approved four more semiconductor projects under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) with an outlay of Rs 4,600 crore. The four proposals approved are from SiCSem, Continental Device India Private Limited (CDIL), 3D Glass Solutions Inc., and Advanced System in Package (ASIP) Technologies. With these, the total approved projects under the ISM have reached 10, with cumulative investments of around Rs 1.60 lakh crore in six states. "These four approved proposals will set up semiconductor manufacturing facilities with a cumulative investment of around Rs 4,600 crore and are expected to generate a cumulative employment for 2,034 skilled professionals, which would catalyse the electronic manufacturing ecosystem, resulting in the creation of many indirect jobs," a Cabinet communique said. SiCSem and 3D Glass will be set up in Odisha. CDIL is located in Punjab, and ASIP will be set up in Andhra Pradesh. SicSem Private Limited is collaborating with Clas-SiC Wafer Fab Ltd., UK, to establish an integrated facility of silicon carbide-based Compound Semiconductors in Info Valley, Bhubaneshwar. This will be the first commercial compound fab in the country. The project proposes to manufacture silicon carbide devices. This compound semiconductor fab will have an annual capacity of 60,000 wafers and a packaging capacity of 96 million units. The proposed products will have applications in missiles, defence equipment, electric vehicles (EVs), railways, fast chargers, data centre racks, consumer appliances, and solar power inverters, the Cabinet note said. 3D Glass Solutions Inc. (3DGS) will set up a vertically integrated advanced packaging and embedded glass substrate unit in Odisha. This unit will bring the world's most advanced packaging technology to India. The facility will have a large variety of advanced technologies, including glass interposers with passives and silicon bridges, and 3D heterogeneous integration (3DHI) modules. Planned capacity of this unit will be approximately 69,600 glass panel substrates, 50 million assembled units, and 13,200 3DHI modules per annum. The proposed products will have significant applications in defence, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, RF and automotive, photonics and co-packaged optics, etc. According to the Cabinet, the Advanced System in Package Technologies (ASIP) will set up a semiconductor manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh, under a technology tie-up with APACT Co. Ltd, South Korea, with an annual capacity of 96 million units. The manufactured products will find applications in mobile phones, set-top boxes, automobile applications, and other electronic products. Continental Device (CDIL) will expand its discrete semiconductor manufacturing facility at Mohali, Punjab. The proposed facility will manufacture high-power discrete semiconductor devices such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, Schottky Bypass Diodes, and transistors, both in silicon and silicon carbide. The annual capacity of this brownfield expansion will be to the tune of 158.38 million units. The devices manufactured by these proposed units will have applications in automotive electronics, including EVs and their charging infrastructure, renewable energy systems, power conversion applications, industrial applications and communication infrastructure. "These would complement the growing world-class chip design capabilities coming up in the country, which are propelled by design infrastructure support provided by the government to 278 academic institutions and 72 start-ups. Already more than 60,000 students have availed the benefits of the talent development programme," said the Cabinet.

Faisal Patel, son of late Congress stalwart Ahmed Patel, has showered rare praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership during Operation Sindoor, the military response to terror bases in Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 civilian lives. The remarks come at a politically sensitive time, with the Congress party openly criticising the BJP-led Centre over its handling of the operation. Yet Faisal Patel, while reaffirming his association with the Congress, struck a markedly different tone, somewhat echoing Congress MP from Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor. Union Cabinet approves Phase-IB of Lucknow Metro project; 4 chip plants in Odisha, Punjab, AP
The Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved several projects, including four semiconductor plants for Odisha, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh, the Phase-IB of the Lucknow Metro project and a 700 MW Tato-II hydro-electric project in Arunachal Pradesh. The Cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the India Semiconductor Mission, which has an outlay of Rs 76,000 crore to provide financial support for setting up chip facilities in the country, the government has approved four semiconductor projects entailing Rs 4,594 crore investment in the three states. According to Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, a silicon carbide semiconductor plant will be set up in Bhubaneswar with an investment of Rs 2,066 crore by SiCsem Pvt Ltd. Another plant in the state will be set up for 3D Glass manufacturing with an investment of Rs 1,943 crore. The minister said that the 3D Glass semiconductor plant will be backed by investment from leading US technology firm Intel, Lockheed Martin, etc. The Cabinet approved a chip packaging plant in Andhra Pradesh, which will be set up by Advanced System in Package Technologies Pvt Ltd with an investment of Rs 468 crore. A semiconductor project of electronic component maker firm CDIL, to be set up in Punjab with an investment of Rs 117 crore, has been approved, the minister stated. Phase-IB of Lucknow Metro project The government also approved the Phase-IB of the Lucknow Metro project with a corridor length of 11.165 km at a cost of Rs 5,801 crore.
