'Memorable' little known luxury scent 'great for all ages' now half price at Boots

Daily Record04-07-2025
This Estée Lauder fragrance has been hailed as a "signature" for some perfume buffs.
Looking for a perfume that will be sure to attract attention? Then any bottle from Estée Lauder is considered to be the best of the best.
While there are many different scents to choose from, notably the iconic Youth Dew, there are a few lesser known alternatives that can often go by unnoticed, but are no less impactful.
One that has been hailed as "memorable" and "great for any age group" is the Modern Muse Eau de Parfum Spray. Even better, we know where shoppers can get their hands on a bottle for half-price right now.
High street favourite Boots is currently running a massive perfume sale, with a 50ml of this Estée Lauder scent now on offer for £42.50, down from £85, which is a deal not to be sniffed at.
A more modern fragrance for the luxury brand, Modern Muse was first launched in 2013 and was "inspired by the complexity of a modern woman". It's contrasting scent of sparkling florals and woods is said to be what makes it "recognizable" and "unique" from others on the market.
To represent her "creative energy" and "magnetic femininity", the perfume opens up on exotic mandarin, before blending into jasmine sambac, China absolute, fresh lily, honeysuckle, dewy petals and tuberose.
Soft musk, Madagascar vanilla, amber wood and patchouli then finish off the fragrance, adding depth that has been designed to represent a woman's style, strength and sensuality.
The bottle itself will also add a touch of luxury to any vanity table, as its slim, sleek design that has been topped with a bow-shaped lid in black and gold accents represents the brand's upper-class reputation.
For a similar unique scent, YSL's Black Opium Illicit Green boasts notes of zesty green fruits that have been mixed with a coffee base. At the moment, a 75ml is on offer at The Perfume Shop where it has been cut from £112 to £79.99.
Another scent that is said to have been inspired by the "playful energy" of women is Jimmy Choo's Fever Eau de Parfum. Offering main notes of plum, a 40ml is currently available on Amazon for £22.50, down from £51.

Emmerdale's Vinny Dingle 'to report attacker to the police' - but it's not Mike

Emmerdale's latest episode saw Vinny Dingle preparing to contact the police after a beating from Mike, but it was teased someone else could be framed on the ITV soap One character faced being framed by Vinny Dingle in Emmerdale over a brutal attack. In sad scenes, Vinny had his fiancée Gabby Thomas believe someone else other than Mike had hurt him while he continued to lie about a theft from the night before. ‌ But as Vinny prepared to report the assault to the police during the latest episode, he broke down just moments after a confrontation with pal Kammy. It was Kammy that Gabby assumed had attacked Vinny, while she doesn't know just how badly Vinny was harmed having been kept in the dark about what's been going on lately. ‌ It comes as Mike's real identity was exposed as he beat up Vinny during Tuesday's episode, following weeks of Vinny questioning his sexuality ahead of his wedding to Gabby. Mike's real agenda also came to light as he used Vinny's torment against him in a blackmail twist. ‌ As fans know, Vinny has been questioning his sexuality ever since his near-kiss with pal Kammy. He's been left torn over whether he wants to be with Gabby despite his love for her, and he started speaking to Mike online who he thought was experiencing a similar situation to him. This is what Mike, actually Graham, had Vinny believe and this week we finally found out he was using it to blackmail him for his money. In violent scenes Mike beat Vinny on the ground before demanding £10,000. With that he fled the scene with Gabby and Vinny's wedding rings, and Vinny covered the whole thing up. Unfortunately for him Kammy sensed something was wrong and kept pushing, but he refused to confide in him. Instead, Vinny deliberately goaded Kammy into going for him cleary to get him to back off but also possibly to frame him for his bruises. The cruel twist saw Kammy shouted at by Gabby who later threatened him in the pub, refusing to listen to his version of events. ‌ Kammy later visited Vinny to ask what was going on, baffled by his behaviour. But Vinny screamed at him and refused to admit the truth, leading to Kammy telling him he needed to tell someone whatever was bothering him. In the end Kammy couldn't get through to him and left while Vinny seemed thoughtful, before a conversation with Gabby later on. We saw Vinny search for the number of the local police station on his phone, preparing to click call. But if Vinny does report the attack, could he be about to frame Kammy for the crime to cover up everything? Or might Vinny find the courage to tell the police and Gabby what went on with Mike. Seven times Glasgow stood in as setting for Hollywood blockbusters

Glasgow has become a popular filming location for major Hollywood productions. Glasgow has once again taken centre stage in a major Hollywood production, with filming for Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day currently under way in the city. Crowds have gathered to watch Hollywood superstar Tom Holland perform impressive stunts as Marvel's web-slinging hero, with parts of the city centre transformed into bustling New York streets. ‌ In recent years, Scotland's largest city has become a favourite among film-makers, with its mix of grand architecture and adaptable streets providing the perfect backdrop for a range of productions. From gritty urban dramas to high-octane blockbusters, Glasgow has played host to an impressive line-up of films. ‌ The Batman (2022) DC's dark, atmospheric blockbuster made use of the gothic surroundings of Glasgow Necropolis, the Victorian cemetery that became a key setting thanks to its striking architecture. ‌ Starring Robert Pattinson in the title role, the film's moody visuals were a natural fit for the city's historic landmarks. Pattinson is set to return for a sequel in 2027, though it is not yet confirmed whether Glasgow will feature again. Tetris (2023) The story of Henk Rogers and his fight to secure the rights to the iconic video game brought a very different aesthetic to Glasgow. Set in the 1980s, the film saw parts of the city convincingly transformed into Soviet-era Moscow, with its architecture standing in for the Soviet Union. Welsh actor Taron Egerton played Rogers and, despite his moustache disguise, was quickly spotted by fans during filming. ‌ Churchill (2017) This historical drama saw Scottish actor Brian Cox portray Winston Churchill in the tense days leading up to the D-Day landings. Several scenes were shot around Scotland, including Glasgow's George Street, which doubled for wartime settings. 1917 (2019) Sam Mendes's award-winning First World War epic featured Glasgow's Govan Graving Docks, transformed through CGI into a canal. ‌ Inspired by the experiences of real-life soldiers, the film starred George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman and was acclaimed for its immersive cinematography and striking set design. World War Z (2013) Brad Pitt led the cast of this zombie blockbuster, which turned George Square into the streets of Philadelphia during an undead outbreak. ‌ At the time, it was one of the largest productions ever to film in the city and went on to become the highest-grossing zombie film of all time. Fast and Furious 6 (2013) High-speed stunts and roaring engines took over Cadogan Street and Broomielaw as part of the street-racing franchise. Although none of the main stars appeared on location, the production returned in 2019 to film scenes for Fast and Furious 9. Trainspotting (1996) Although set in Edinburgh, this cult classic was filmed largely in Glasgow. Interiors were shot in an old cigarette factory on Alexandra Parade, while exterior locations included Maryhill Road, Kelvin Hall and Rouken Glen Park. Its modest budget was a far cry from the scale of modern superhero productions.
