Hidden North Wales waterfalls among best 'secret' UK spots
When it comes to the best secret spots in the UK, and the paths less-travelled, the experts at UK Hidden Gems have you covered.
Among their secret spot listicles are the UK's best hidden waterfalls, in which you will find four "awe-inspiring" Welsh locations.
Introducing the list, UK Hidden Gems said: "The UK is best known for its stretch of breath-taking countryside views, and when you think of waterfalls, it isn't something you'd associate with the UK.
"With more and more people knowing about these waterfalls thanks to social media, it may be hard to find a car space and have some alone time at the falls.
"That's why we've created this useful guide filled with some of the best hidden waterfalls which are still unknown to the majority of people!"

The Watkin Path Waterfall, also known as 'Fairy Falls', is a "little gem", according to UK Hidden Gems, and a must-visit, especially for those that love their wild swimming.
The experts explain: "It's only a short walk from the car park, in which you'll be able to experience some great plunge pools for a cold water dip on a warm day.
"Don't worry about getting there early to secure your spot; there's plenty of pools to find and have either for yourself, or share with others.
"An amazing walk up around Gladstone Rock will take you to these gorgeous waterfalls and plunge pools in Snowdon."

Meanwhile, Aber Falls (main picture) was described by UK Hidden Gems as a "beautiful waterfall at the end of an amazing valley".
Explaining what made the North Wales waterfall so appealing, the experts said: "Aber Falls is considered a hidden gem due to its stunning natural beauty, remote location, and the impressive cascade of water as it plunges over a cliff into a pool below amidst the rugged Welsh countryside.
"The waterfall offers visitors a peaceful and awe-inspiring experience away from the more crowded tourist attractions."
For those with walking difficulties, there is step free access all the way to one side of the waterfall.
UK Hidden Gems warned visitors to these 'hidden' waterfalls' to be careful.
They said: "Due to the remoteness of some of these locations, we ask you to please be careful when visiting, and always #LeaveNoTrace so the rest of us can enjoy these beautiful hidden gems too."

The couple had envisioned a tranquil romantic getaway with a "swim up" room offering direct pool access but instead found unsightly brown stains on the sun-beds upon arrival. Phil, 57, remarked: "We didn't really expect any problems, with it being a five-star resort," yet they were soon faced with the reality of extensive renovations. He added: "You had trucks coming through with cement and you had to move your beds to make way." The disruption continued unabated, and attempts to reach easyJet's holiday representative proved futile. Phil lamented the impact of the noise and chaos on their special trip: "It was constant," he explained. "I watched them put some glass railings above the relax pool and there were people in the pool while they were putting the glass panels in, "Phil added. "It was all day every day, it was unbelievable, I've never experienced anything like that. It was a proper building site." "We booked a swim-out room, for a little bit of extra," Phil recalled. "When we got to the room, I opened the curtain to see the swim-out area, and the beds were really grimy and dirty. "I understand people use tan lotions but it was just brown, they were full of marks we didn't really want to see. It needed a good clean up, hence why we didn't go in there." "I get things can go wrong and you can't please everybody but I'm easily pleased," he admitted. Upon returning home, the disheartened couple took the matter up with easyJet, leading to an initial offer of a £281 refund, which was declined by the couple until it was raised to £381. Construction work was going on throughout their stay Article continues below A spokesperson for easyJet holidays expressed regret to the MEN, stating: "We're really sorry to hear that Mr Perkins was unhappy with his experience, especially on such a special holiday. "Once Mr Perkins returned home and got in touch with us, we immediately offered a partial refund. Our team has since been back in touch with Mr Perkins to apologise for his experience and offer a further refund, which was accepted."

All three of the parks will continue to operate as normal, with jobs secure for the time being. Celtic Holiday Parks was established back in 2003 as a family-run business. And in 2022, the company's managing director Huw Pendleton gained an award for 'outstanding contribution to the UK tourism industry'. The holiday parks offer a range of static caravans, lodges, glamping and touring and tent pitches. Recently, the parks have seen around £6million in investment and back in 2020, Celtic Holiday Parks secured a loan to add 54 holiday homes to it's sites. Many of the accommodation types are dog-friendly and each park has a restaurant or tavern that serve lunch or dinner. Two of the parks feature gyms and all three have a swimming pool. At the Croft Country Park, visitors can also indulge in a range of treatments with massages from as little as £42. Treatments also include Neal's Yard products. Award-winning holiday park in St Ives Over the years, Celtic Holiday Parks have also won awards including the Best Caravan and Camping Parks in Pembrokeshire from The SME Welsh Enterprise Awards in 2020 and in 2021. According to Travel Mole, Grant Thornton said: "The joint administrators are continuing to trade the company's business whilst a buyer is sought, and employees have been retained to support this strategy. "Unless customers are contacted and advised otherwise, their bookings will go ahead and access to the parks will continue as normal for owners of caravans and lodges."
