Usher Apologizes To Sabrina Carpenter's Dad Following Cherry Ordeal At 2025 Met Gala
Following the 2025 Met Gala, Sabrina Carpenter posted a photo recap from her extravagant night out including the highlight of Usher feeding her a cherry during his performance at the event.
The final slide was a screenshot of her father, David Carpenter's reaction to the infamous cherry moment.
'? Weird,' he wrote in the text after resharing the photo of her and Ursher.
The crooner immediately took to the comments to issue a light-hearted apology.
'Apologies Mr Carpenter [laughing emoji] [cherries emoji],' wrote the father of four. Inside this year's Met Gala, Usher was one of two surprise performers with the other being Stevie Wonder.
The eternal heartthrob serenaded the crowd with 'U Don't Have To Call,' 'Yeah!,' and 'OMG.'
Per Vogue, Wonder performed 'Sir Duke,' 'Black Man,' 'Higher Ground,' 'Isn't She Lovely,' 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours),' 'I Wish,' and 'Superstition' before he and Ush sang 'Another Star' as a duet.
The outlet noted that the show — and the evening which was in honor of Black dandyism — began on the Met steps as Silk & Sound, a 20-person chorus, wowed guests with a rendition of 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough.'
When the party moved inside, the chorus covered an array of notable classics including Earth, Wind & Fire's 'Let's Groove,' Michael Jackson's 'Rock With You,' Bob Marley's 'Three Little Birds,' Al Green's 'Let's Stay Together,' Bill Withers' 'Lovely Day,' Luther Vandross' 'Never Too Much,' McFadden & Whitehead's 'Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now,' and even Stevie Wonder's 'Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing.'
Promptly after the Met Gala, Usher jetted off to London to close out his Past Present Future tour.

That comment also received a like from Zuckerberg, along with more than 6,500 others. While Zuckerberg didn't tag the location of his post, many fans speculate the clip was filmed in Lake Tahoe, where Zuckerberg is building a seven-building compound. On Saturday, July 5, the Facebook founder shared another holiday-themed video, this time accompanied by his friends as they pretend to be Marvel's Avengers. The clip was recorded backwards to make it appear as though each individual is jumping out of the water, and is set to audio from the superhero film series in which Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, delivers the iconic line: 'Avengers, assemble.' Zuckerberg wore a long sleeve shirt that resembled Captain America's suit, while one friend was dressed as Uncle Sam and another wore the same bald eagle costume from his previous post. Zuckerberg has developed a reputation for his elaborate stunts over the years, though many have been romantic gestures for his wife, Priscilla Chan. In February, he borrowed singer Benson Boone's skintight Grammy jumpsuit to serenade Chan on her birthday, and in 2024 he went viral for commissioning a seven-foot-tall teal blue sculpture in her likeness.

THE RUNDOWN A sequel to The Devil Wears Prada wouldn't be complete without a scene at some version of the Met Gala. Luckily, the movie filmed their take on the iconic fashion event on Friday, August 1, at the Museum of Natural History. Photos from the set show Meryl Streep dressed as her character, Miranda Priestly, wearing her idea of a perfect red carpet ensemble. Naturally, it's stunning. In the new behind-the-scenes images, Streep can be seen posing with Stanley Tucci, playing Nigel, wearing a rich red gown with an asymmetrical neckline, one long sleeve, and a dramatic full skirt. She had her short platinum hair swept back and wore statement earrings with red and white jewels and a red stone ring. Tucci wore a black tux with a polka dot bowtie and a long black and white scarf. Bridgerton's Simone Ashley, who plays a new character in The Devil Wears Prada 2, was also seen on set in a sculptural take on the little black dress. The skin-tight ensemble featured sheer panels across her torso and an elevated neckline of netted fabric decorated with black rhinestones. She accessorized with a small black purse, hair ornaments, and shimmering tights. Ashley's character details have been kept under wraps so far. Aside from Streep and Tucci, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt are returning for the sequel, and new cast members reportedly include Lucy Liu, Pauline Chalamet, Kenneth Branagh, Tracie Thomas, B.J.
