Justin Baldoni Sends A Strong Message To Blake Lively After Tossed $400M Lawsuit

Justin Baldoni Sends A Strong Message To Blake Lively After Tossed $400M Lawsuit

Yahoo10-06-2025
Justin Baldoni may have lost the battle, but his war against Blake Lively and her sexual harassment allegations is far from over!
The "Jane the Virgin" star recently suffered a significant loss after a judge dismissed his $400 million defamation lawsuit. He filed smear campaign allegations against his former co-star, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and the New York Times a month after he was accused of harassing the actress.
The drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively stemmed from their time in the movie "It Ends With Us." The actress accused the project's co-star and director of sexual harassment and efforts to ruin her image in December 2024; however, he has denied the allegations and painted her as the problem.
Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, addressed the dismissal of the $400 million defamation lawsuit in a statement released on Tuesday, June 10.
He claimed that Lively and her team were celebrating far too early because the war was not over, even if they achieved a small victory. Baldoni's attorney explained:
"Ms. Lively and her team's predictable declaration of victory is false, so let us be clear about the latest ruling. While the Court dismissed the defamation-related claims, the Court has invited us to amend four out of the seven claims against Ms. Lively, which will showcase additional evidence and refined allegations."
The legal rep assured TMZ they were not disheartened by the judge's decision to toss the defamation lawsuit out of Court.
Instead, Baldoni and his lawyer saw the outcome as an opportunity to prove Lively dropped false accusations of sexual harassment and claims of a nonexistent smear campaign to ruin the actor's image.
Hours before Baldoni's legal rep declared their intention to keep fighting against Lively, The Blast shared that the actress was all smiles on Monday night. She made her first public appearance after the defamation lawsuit was tossed at the Chanel Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner in New York City.
Lively stunned on the red carpet like a woman with a massive weight off her shoulders, posing confidently for the cameras in a white crochet dress. She complemented the outfit with Louboutin heels and Chanel accessories, posing confidently for photographers while her hair flowed down her shoulders in graceful waves.
A source claimed the outing came after Lively was overcome with emotions following the judge's ruling in her favor. "Complete elation from Blake's world and a monkey off her back.
Blake is breathing a sigh of relief right now, and all tears are happy tears," the insider said, adding she "cried with relief" after the verdict.
While Lively allegedly "cried with relief," her attorneys proudly celebrated Baldoni's lawsuit dismissal. They reacted to the ruling in a statement, describing the judge's decision as a "total victory" for the actress while slamming her defamation accusers for their "sham" allegations.
Lively's reps claimed the court "saw right through" Baldoni's alleged lies, and they were ready to keep proving he wasn't as innocent as he claimed to be.
"We look forward to the next round, which is seeking attorneys' fees, treble damages, and punitive damages against Baldoni, Sarowitz, Nathan, and the other Wayfarer Parties who perpetrated this abusive litigation," they stressed.
The next round would reportedly begin sometime after June 23; the time limit the judge gave Baldoni and his team to file a second amended complaint. He was ordered to restrict any new allegation to claims of "tortious interference with contract and breach of implied covenant."
Following the ruling in her favor, Lively broke her silence on Baldoni's defamation lawsuit dismissal on her Instagram Story. She shared an emotional statement on Monday, June 9, maintaining her innocence in the legal drama and painting herself as a victim.
"Like so many others, I've felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tries to break us. While the suit against me was defeated, so many don't have the resources to fight back," Lively wrote.
She noted her drama with Baldoni only fueled her desire to fight for women without a voice. Lively continued by thanking everyone who stood by her, noting she knew many of them, while others were strangers who had sympathized with her situation.
"I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you," she declared, per PEOPLE. She also added a list of relevant organizations like California Women's Law Center and Women's Justice NOW.
A month before his defamation lawsuit was thrown out of Court, The Blast shared that Baldoni had suffered a loss in his legal battle against his former co-star. On May 15, Judge Lewis J. Liman granted Lively's motion to dismiss the allegations brought by Baldoni's attorney.
The actor's legal rep had shared a letter from a source that claimed Lively's attorney, Michael Gottlieb, had threatened to release her text messages with Taylor Swift if the singer didn't support the actress. The judge argued that the letter was "improper" and "irrelevant" to the case.
Judge Liman also stressed that the letter might incite "press uproar by suggesting that Lively and her counsel attempted to 'extort' a well-known celebrity." The legal umpire noted that he could not permit such documents in his Court and dismissed it.
Will Justin Baldoni have better luck against Blake Lively when he files his amended lawsuit?

Nip/Tuck star Dylan Walsh and family involved in major car crash

Nip/Tuck star Dylan Walsh and his family were involved in a serious car crash over the weekend in Rumson, New Jersey. The 61-year-old actor, who played Dr. Sean McNamara on the six-season medical drama, and four other passengers were reportedly heading northbound on a local street when the car suddenly swerved into the opposing lane before smashing into a utility pole, according to TMZ. Police told the publication that two people were taken to the hospital after complaining of pain at the scene. It's unclear who required medical attention or who was driving the SUV, a 2022 Ford Explorer, but photos of the crash show the front of the car heavily damaged with the front airbags deployed. 'Over the weekend, Dylan Walsh and his family were involved in a car accident in Rumson. Thankfully, everyone is safe and has since returned home,' Walsh's representative told The Independent. 'The family is deeply grateful for the swift response of the Rumson Police, Fire Department, and EMS, as well as the staff at Riverview Medical Center for their care,' they added. 'They would also like to extend a special thank-you to the management and staff of The River Point Inn for their support in the immediate aftermath.' The Independent has contacted the Rumson Police Department for comment. Per local news outlet Towns Of: Monmouth County, NJ, Walsh's wife, Leslie Bourque, posted about the crash in a since-deleted Facebook post. 'It was our family who was involved in the car accident on River Road yesterday afternoon. We just want to thank everyone who took care of us in this scary time,' Bourque reportedly wrote. '1st of all to the managers/staff at River Point Inn who immediately ran out to make sure we were ok and comfort our kids (literally one lady wrapped her arms around all of us letting us know it would be ok) — bringing ice bags and the fancy Evian water bottle.' She concluded with an update on the family's wellbeing, adding: 'We are a bit bruised from seatbelts, but grateful for them and air bags which saved our lives. We apologize for anyone who lost power or inconvenience.' Walsh and Bourque have been married since 2022 and share two children: daughter Amelie Bell, 13, and son Hudson Scott, 12. He also has two adult children, Thomas and Joanna, from his first marriage to Boogie Nights actor Melora Walters. The former pair were married from 1996 to 2003. He then married actor Joanna Going from 2014 to 2012, with whom he shares daughter Stella, 21. Walsh is best known for his leading role as Dr. Sean McNara alongside the late Julian McMahon in FX's Nip/Tuck, which aired from 2003 to 2010. He's more recently starred in the CW's Superman and Lois as General Sam Lane and the police procedural Blue Bloods as Mayor Pete Chase. Solve the daily Crossword

Savannah Guthrie reveals the rules inside her 11-year-old daughter's phone usage ‘contract'

Savannah Guthrie is dialed into her young daughter's life. The 'Today' show co-anchor shared the phone usage contract she wrote for her 11-year-old daughter, Vale, during Wednesday's episode of 'Today with Jena & Friends.' 'My daughter got a little personal iCloud address and I actually drafted a contract for her to sign,' Guthrie said. 'I know that contract,' co-host Jenna Bush Hager recalled. 'It was basically like 'I know that mommy and daddy love me more than anything in the world,'' Guthrie explained. ''I know that mommy and daddy can read my texts. I know I wouldn't put in a text anything I don't want grandma and grandpa to see [or] that I wouldn't want to see on the front page of the New York Times.'' Vale only has an iCloud address and not an iPhone, Guthrie clarified. The mother of two insisted that even though Vale 'knows that I reserve the right to look at her texts,' she confessed that she doesn't monitor them. 'I trust her,' Guthrie added. The 53-year-old broadcaster added that she believed the word 'snooping' had a negative connotation and would rather call it 'looking' or 'parenting.' Guthrie publicly hoped that her kids would never have a phone but confessed that she might have a 'different' approach after they turn 16. The 'Today' co-anchor, who joined NBC's morning program in June 2011, shares two kids with her husband, Michael Feldman. Hager confessed that she was inspired to use a similar contract for her 9-year-old daughter, Poppy Louise Hager, when she turns 10. 'I need the contract again, unless I can find it in my texts,' Hager quipped to Guthrie. Texts addressed to Poppy are currently sent to Hager's phone, the 43-year-old television personality revealed. 'I get her text messages because she just gives everybody my cell phone [number],' she explained. 'Which is enough to drive a mother- I mean by the way she doesn't text that much because she doesn't have a phone but she'll use her iPad to be like 'hey' and somebody will text back 'hey' and I'm like, 'What is happening where I'm getting GiGi's Facetimes?'' Hager said her eldest daughter, Margaret Laura 'Mila' Hager, received an iCloud address when she was around 10 or 11 years old. Hager is the granddaughter of the late former President George H.W. Bush and the daughter of former President George W. Bush. She shares three kids, Mila, Poppy and Hal, with her husband Henry Hager, whom she met in 2004 when he was working for her father on his reelection campaign. Solve the daily Crossword
