House with hundreds of fake guns raided in Segambut
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department deputy director (Wildlife Crime Bureau/Special Intelligence Investigation) Senior Asst Comm Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin @ Hilmi said some of the fake weapons closely resembled actual firearms used by police.
"Among the seized items were replicas of the Walther P99 pistol, M4 Carbine rifle and Colt AR-15.
"We also seized a ball-bearing crossbow and a spear gun. These imitation firearms, if misused, could cause serious injury,' he told reporters at the scene.
Three foreigners, including a woman in her 30s believed to be the caretaker of the premises, were arrested during the operation, he said.
"The imitation firearms were believed to have been stored at the house for repackaging before being sold openly on social media platforms.
"The prices of these weapons vary depending on quality and type.
"We are still gathering data on their selling prices and the total quantity involved,' SAC Zairulnizam added.
He said police have obtained a list of names and addresses of those who bought the fake weapons.
"We urge them to come forward and dispose of fake weapons," he added
SAC Zairulnizam also reminded social media platform providers to monitor the sale of illegal items on their respective sites and cooperate with the authorities.
"If the situation persists, we will seek the assistance of the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to take much sterner action," he said.
Several other raids were also conducted in Selangor and Johor, he added.

BUKIT KAYU HITAM: The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) intercepted an attempt to smuggle 10,200 litres of diesel worth RM30,600 at the Bukit Kayu Hitam ICQS complex. Bukit Kayu Hitam AKPS Commander SAC Mohd Nasaruddin M Nasir said inspections revealed modified tanks in three trailers and three pickups used for smuggling subsidised diesel. The trailers were stopped at the heavy vehicle exit lane after clearing customs checks en route to Thailand at 8.45 am. Pickup trucks were detained earlier at 7.30 am at the Malaysian exit lane following immigration inspections. All vehicles were seized under Section 6 of the Road Transport Act 1987, with total confiscations valued at RM380,600. Six drivers aged between 40 and 60 were arrested for further investigations. Mohd Nasaruddin suspects a syndicate is smuggling subsidised fuel abroad, possibly reselling it as far as Myanmar for higher profits. He said diesel may be sourced from Malaysian petrol stations and industrial storage facilities using varied methods. In a separate operation, AKPS issued 21 Notices of Refusal of Entry to foreign nationals suspected of violating tourist visa conditions. The individuals included four Chinese men, two Thai men, 13 Thai women, one Indian man, and a Pakistani national. All were ordered to return to their home countries following standard immigration procedures. No seizures or criminal investigations were linked to the entry refusal cases. – Bernama

A team from the Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department's Wildlife Crime Bureau/Special Intelligence Investigation intercepted a lorry at the Putrajaya toll plaza on the MEX Expressway at about 2.30pm on Aug 3, said Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar. 'Checks on the lorry and its occupants – the driver and his assistant, both Malaysian men – led to the discovery of various brands of cigarettes believed to be untaxed. 'We seized crates of illegal cigarettes, with an estimated total value of RM13.4mil,' he told reporters at Sepang district police headquarters yesterday. Other items seized included the lorry, two mobile phones and four delivery order documents He said investigations revealed that both the driver and assistant had prior criminal and drug-related records. 'The case is being investigated under Section 135(1)(d) of the Customs Act', said Comm Shazeli.

Two charged over RM13.45mil untaxed cigarettes seized in Sepang
SEPANG: Two men have been charged after police seized 566 cases of untaxed cigarettes worth about RM13.45 million here on Aug 3. Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said authorities intercepted a bonded lorry at the Putrajaya toll of the Maju Expressway (MEX) in Cyberjaya that day. He said the operation, carried out about 2.30pm, involved policemen from Bukit Aman's Wildlife Crime Bureau/Special Intelligence Investigation and the Sepang police Criminal Investigation Department. He said an inspection of the lorry led to the discovery of various brands of illicit cigarettes, adding that the driver and co-driver of the vehicle, aged 35 and 38, were subsequently detained. Other items seized included the lorry, its ignition key, two mobile phones and four delivery order documents. Shazeli said checks revealed that both suspects have prior criminal and drug abuse records. "The case is being investigated under Section 135(1)(d) of the Customs Act 1967, which provides for a fine of not less than 10 times the customs duty or RM100,000, whichever is higher, and not more than 20 times the value of the goods or RM500,000, whichever is higher, or imprisonment of between six months and five years, or both, upon conviction," he said. On Aug 7, both men were charged at the Sepang magistrate's court under the same section. Shazeli reminded the public not to get involved in any smuggling or sale of illicit cigarettes, adding that stern action will be taken against offenders. He also urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the police to safeguard national revenue, public safety and security.
